The Indulgence Of Custom-Made Wedding Bands
More often than not, you spend more time choosing your engagement ring than your wedding band. Just two simple gold bands – something both of you like and something not too fussy so that you can wear them for a lifetime are what most couples want out of their weddings bands.
However, there are couples out there for whom everything needs to be one of a kind and the trend seems to be that more and more couples seem to be looking at wedding bands that are unique and distinctive. Of course, this makes a lot of sense for people who are always in the celebrity pages of the newspapers or magazines because there is so much of a focus on every event of their lives – and wedding bands, never mind how many they acquire in their lifetimes – is huge. But this wave is hitting regular couples out there too. The question being asked is: why not us too when it comes to wedding bands?
Little wonder that so many jewellery stores are offering couples the choice of custom-made rings today. No longer are they only available in jewellery stores that are so plush that they don’t have a name plate over the door – today it’s a choice that is being offered to anyone who cares to have a unique wedding band.
Custom made rings are of two kinds – you can go and choose and alter or give the jeweller a design of your own and he’ll make it for you. Do remember to ask his advice as well. There are some metals, some stones and some settings which might look beautiful but might not be long lasting wedding band material. Or you could ask him to make something unique for you – something out of the usual but yet comfortable to wear. Oh and ask if he’ll throw away the mould after he’s done! Now that would make for a truly one of a kind wedding band.
You could also choose one of the unusual wedding bands that many jewellers stock today and then make it unique with an engraving or a special message inside. You could also choose a different metal – how about titanium for a change? You might have to wait a bit longer especially if you were to choose an unusual ring because titanium takes a lot of work before it can be fashioned into what you want.
