She was the Olympic silver medal winner and she is Great Britain’s hope this time around in the swimming event in the London Olympics. While many might think that planning a wedding right in the middle of training might be a distraction. Keri-Anne and her fiancé David Carry are very sure that this is just what is necessary to take her mind off from the pressure looming ahead.
The couple will exchange wedding rings a few months from now and she says there really is not too much of the preparations left except for a few little things that need to be taken care of. David Barry, also a swimmer feels that she needs something big to take her mind off things before a big event. Before the earlier two major events, she had a couple of big charity projects and now, there is the wedding which he feels will be good for her.
Keri-Anne spent her childhood in South Africa where her brother Mark Payne trained and she was often seen watching him, perched precariously on the ledge. Then, she was discovered by a coach and that changed everything. The family returned to the UK where they belonged and once she tried open water swimming and realised she was good at it, that’s what she has been concentrating on. She missed the Gold at the Beijing Olympics by a few seconds and she hopes to bring it home this time for her country.
