Diamond Rings And Jewellery Sales Expected to Jump 25% In India

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

That’s what jewellers in India are expecting this Valentine’s Day. They expect the boom to be highest in the week preceding the big day. In spite of politicians getting into the fray and trying to stop V-Day celebrations across the country saying that it is not a part of traditional Indian culture, the young and well-heeled Indian is looking at diamonds as gifts during this season.

Most jewellers have introduced a range of new designs and to target the young market, there are diamond rings in the under-ÂŁ300 range too. Many of the designs are based around the heart motif. The main brands are being supported by heavy advertising and the diamond merchants hope to see a lot more diamond sales in a market that is traditionally a gold market. Some have even offering huge discounts on diamond jewellery during this season of love.

Diamond Rings And Valentine’s Day

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, there seems to be a rise in demand for diamond engagement rings and diamond heart shaped pendants. There’s always love in the air around this time and naturally, the number of engagements go up.

In times of economic tightening of belts however, what does seem to happen is that though love blooms, couples might settle for smaller and less expensive rings than they would have when funds were flush. So while they are not putting off getting engaged or are not thinking of doing away with Valentine’s Day gifts, they are cutting back on the amount they are spending.

Many diamond retailers are helping them along by guiding them through how they can pick up a gorgeous piece of diamond jewellery – a gift that is forever – without breaking the bank.
