Royal Dolls Include Engagement Ring And Wedding Ring

Sunday, August 21st, 2011

Move over Barbie – the latest dolls to hit the stores are Princess William and Kate dolls which feature the exact clothes worn at their wedding. In fact, the dolls replicate the real thing so well – the Kate doll even has an engagement ring and a wedding ring. The details are so perfect and the dolls are made to look like the royal couple on their wedding day with as much detail as possible.
The manufacturer is Arklu, the British company and while Kate wears her famous, elegant wedding dress, Prince William is dressed in his Irish Guards outfit which is red and marked with a W on it. His socks are pink and the doll looks dashing. Kate has on her tiara, small, well made shoes and earrings besides of course, the famous sapphire and diamond engagement ring and the wedding ring.
The pair of dolls cost £100 but if anyone wants just the Kate doll, they can buy it for £50. The Royal National Lifeboat Association will get £1 from the sale of each of these dolls. These are a great way to remember the royal wedding and for those who couldn’t be there, a great memento indeed!

Prince Will Not Wear Wedding Ring

Wednesday, April 6th, 2011

Only a signet ring is acceptable for British royalty and a royal prince will not wear a wedding ring. Following this tradition, Prince William will not be wearing a wedding ring either, as he stated earlier. For all royal weddings, this has been the norm and something that has been accepted and followed. However, the Middletons don’t think so.

Kate’s mother stated that a wedding ring had been bought for the Prince and this seems to have stirred up a hornet’s nest because it might just set a new precedent. Surprisingly, everything has gone smoothly till now but this could cause problems. Will the Prince then decide to change his mind and put on the wedding ring that Kate has for him? One has to wait and see.

What is certain is that the wedding of the decade is almost upon us and the whole world is watching with bated breath for it to unfold. A royal wedding is like a fairytale – something that the stuff of dreams is made of and maybe that’s why so many people follow every bit of it so avidly. So wedding ring or no ring, there’s going to be a lot of excitement in the air soon.

Traditional Welsh Gold For Royal Wedding?

Thursday, November 18th, 2010

It looks like some things will never change. It all began in 1923 when the Queen Mother used Welsh gold for her wedding rings and since then, most Royal weddings have had rings made out of the same Welsh gold nugget. It looks like Prince William and Kate Middleton will also soon be wearing wedding rings fashioned out of the traditional metal.

The gold comes from North Wales from the Clogau St David’s mine at Bontddu and through the years, with so many weddings, there is hardly anything left of the original nugget, probably just about a gram. However, in 1981, the Royals were gifted with more Welsh gold for future Royal weddings. The mine dates back to Roman times but it was only in the 19th century that what was thought to be a copper mine yielded gold. However, the mine had to be shut down after all the gold seems to have been extracted. It was in the let 80s that the mine was reopened and a small amount found and with this, there was an exquisite range of jewellery that was designed – using ancient Welsh symbols as inspiration.

Prince William and Kate’s wedding is sure to inspire a lot of attention, even globally. Already there is talk of huge security arrangements being out in place and of something like his parents’ wedding coming alive again. Can they recreate the same magic of that fairytale wedding?

Princess Diana’s Engagement Ring On Kate’s Finger

Wednesday, November 17th, 2010

The day a lot of people have been expecting is finally here as Prince William slipped his mother’s sapphire and diamond ring on to Kate Middleton’s finger. Everyone has been waiting and watching to see when it would happen and it has. The wedding is expected to be next year. Way back in 1981, it created news when his father slipped it onto Diana’s finger and so many all over the world wanted a ring exactly like that.

What is quite unexpected is that today, it’s happening again – not just in the UK but all over the world. Websites crashed because of the demand for look alike rings and jewellers in New York have had to keep their stores open all night because the demand was pouring in. Looks like the British royalty has once again set the jewellery world alight!

Prince William and Kate Middleton have been a couple for a long time now, almost ten years so it’s no wonder people were asking when they would get married. There was a lot of media speculation when they broke up a few years ago but they remained friends and got back together again. They say they got engaged in Africa when they were on a holiday there.

Royal Wedding Rings Soon?

Sunday, April 11th, 2010

Everyone’s been waiting for what seems like an eternity for Prince William and Kate Middleton to get married. So does it look like it’s going to happen any time soon? That’s what the rumours say. So it looks like it might happen before the Rugby World Cup in the coming year which will be held in New Zealand and which could work out as a great honeymoon trip.

Considering that the 2012 Olympics is also due, maybe it would be a good thing if the wedding took place before that huge event. Whenever it happens, it looks like it’s something everyone has been waiting for and would welcome, celebrations and all.

Mock Royal Wedding And A Wedding Band Made Of Red Leather

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

Was it a trial run for a wedding to come or was it a commitment ceremony? We’ll let Prince William and Kate Middleton decide that. It happened in the Seychelles where they are vacationing and sources say that it was a proper ceremony with a local pastor as well as the mandatory two witnesses. In lieu of a wedding ring, Prince William slipped a red leather band which he picked up from a local seller on the beach.

They weren’t dressed for the occasion though – he, preferring shorts and a T-shirt and with Kate dressed in a sarong. However, it looks like the feelings were very real as Prince William promised to protect and love her as long as he lived. The couple split up but got back together in July this year.

Was That An Engagement Ring On Kate Middleton’s Finger?

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

Was Kate Middleton trying to tell the world something when she was spotted with a ring on her left hand? She was with Prince William in Gloucestershire for a polo match and she had come in with two finger rings on her right hand. Then she wasn’t seen around for a bit and when she did emerge from wherever she was, she had transferred one of those rings onto her left hand.

Obviously, that triggered wild speculation when all it could have been was a little bit of discomfort which made her change the rings onto the other hand, quite possibly without thinking. Then again, if this was a discreet way to tell everyone watching that they were ready to take their next step in the relationship, well, maybe this was a smart way to do it too!

Will there be royal diamond engagement ring soon? Or won’t there?

Monday, August 18th, 2008

Will William and Kate Middleton get engaged soon? Now that Kate has been allowed to stay in the hallowed environs of Clarence House, will she be wearing a ring on her finger soon?

With due apologies to Lewis Carroll, this could be what is on everyone’s mind!

Will you move a little faster?
Said the public to their prince
There’s a wedding that we’d like to see
So don’t you really think
You should hurry up the courtship
Not drag your feet like this?
Will they, won’t they, will they, won’t they
Enter wedded bliss?
Will they, won’t they, will they, won’t they
Seal it with a kiss?

What do you think? Do post your comments here and tell us whether you think they will get engaged soon or not!
