There’s a jeweller in New Zealand who is about to launch a global competition. The online jewellery magazine, The Jeweller reported that the contest would start in the Rockefeller Centre this month in New York. The contest has been named ‘The Search for the World’s Best Couple’. The contest is going to be launched with a lot of fanfare with the Kardashian sisters – Kim and Kourtney modelling the diamond ring that is going to be the prize.

The ring has a princess cut diamond which is all of 22 carats with accent diamonds surrounding it and it is set in platinum. The jeweller, Michael Hill will go from New York to nine cities around the world to display the ring. The diamond in the ring is a flawless gem as far as clarity, colour and cut go. The contest is open to couples in New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the US.

The contest will have a series of challenges and they will have to be played online. There will be six couples who will be short listed and the winner will be chosen by a panel of judges. The couples who enter will have to be married, engaged or dating.

The star of movies like Hitch flashed a superb Cartier platinum and diamond ring on a wet, blustery night for the London premiere of her film The Other Guys. A woman who wishes to remain anonymous has lost her prized possession – a platinum diamond ring. The ring has a yellow diamond in the centre and there are two white diamonds – smaller than the bright yellow diamond – on both sides of it. It is the lady’s engagement ring and besides being valuable, it is very precious to her because of its sentimental value.

The ring was lost somewhere in the Worcester, Malvern or Upton areas and the police have put out an appeal to anyone who might have found it. If anyone has seen or found the ring, they are being asked to contact the police stations in these areas.

It’s leading the sale at a charity auction and the auctioneers hope it will fetch over a hundred thousand pounds. There are a lot of diamond rings at this auction in Dallas, Texas but it is this one ring which is a square cut platinum and gold ring which they hope will fetch the largest amount. The ring is being auctioned for charity.

In Longford, Ireland, there was a lot of heartbreak for Maria who had lost her precious platinum engagement ring. In desperation, she appealed to all the readers of the Longford Leader, pleading with anyone who might have found the ring to return it. She got a number of calls – and of course, one of them had her ring.

In a town in Pennsylvania, USA, a man found a 3-carat diamond ring in the parking lot of a store two years ago. He couldn’t find out who had lost the diamond ring but that didn’t stop him from looking. Finally, he recently found the owner when she answered his ad in the newspaper. The man had gone to the police and told them that he just couldn’t give up the search because someone was sure to be feeling the loss of a ring so valuable.

Then, this lady answered the ad that the police helped put out and she described the diamond ring perfectly. She had taken off the diamond ring which was an engagement ring because she didn’t want to show it off because it was so valuable. It must have fallen off somehow. Now there will have to be all that work because she had already claimed for insurance on that ring. It was a ring with a single diamond set in platinum.

A platinum and diamond ring was stolen from a jeweller in Crowthorne and it was valued at over £3,000. The staff at the store said that two men walked in to look at jewellery, created some amount of confusion which distracted the staff and made off with the ring. One said he wanted to look at bracelets for a present for Valentine’s Day while the second said he wanted something to give his girlfriend as her birthday was coming up. Then he corrected himself and said he was thinking of getting engaged.

The staff was so confused that they didn’t realise when the two of them walked out without buying anything that they had taken the ring. They only realised it when they saw the empty ring pad where the platinum trilogy ring had been. Quite a change from burglars entering stores and robbing at gunpoint.

Then tragedy struck this romantic old couple in America. When she came back to her hometown to pack and move in with him in Los Angeles, he disappeared without a trace. Till now, his body has not been found. While she suspects foul play because he was well off, his children say that maybe he just went away because he felt shocked by what he had done on an impulse. For her, it’s a double tragedy as she sits waiting for news of him – wearing her new white gold wedding ring and her 60 year old platinum diamond engagement ring which has never left her possession.
