Def Leppard’s Lead Guitarist Wears Wedding Ring
Tuesday, July 20th, 2010Yes, Phil Collen has been seen around with a wedding ring and he’s married to Helen Simmons, costume designer. The couple reportedly tied the knot last Friday. The lead guitarist’s band mates from the popular band were there too for the wedding which was held in Florida at the Palm Beach hotel, the Ritz Carlton.
The news is that the couple had a very eco friendly wedding, with the wedding invites that were sent out being paperless and the wedding food served being vegan as well as organic. Though they say that they didn’t really plan for a wedding like these, since they are both committed to turning the world green, the wedding arrangements too flowed naturally from what they strongly believed in. The wedding ceremony was held on the beach as the sun was setting and the wedding rings were designed by Phil himself along with jeweller Krikawa.
This wedding took place barely nine days after Phil’s second divorce from Anita Thomas and he says that he has been waiting for this to happen. There were sayings from the Dalai Lama that were read out as well as a song by Mary Angelou sung.
