So maybe they are right after all. Maybe that is all it was and the divorce hopes to keep the whole piece of news very much in the public eye even today.

They really are providing so much fodder for the media grist. First, their high profile engagement and then the wedding. After that, the separation and now, the question of the engagement ring. Not just any old engagement ring but the huge rock that Kris Humphries got Kim Kardashian. It’s got a 20.5 carat diamond and though other women might not want a reminder of a marriage that ended so quickly, most people who know Kim say that she loves diamonds so much that she would love to keep the ring.
The thing is, there was a very, very detailed pre-nup when they got married and it includes the point that if they were to get divorced, she could buy the ring from him. There have been rumours that it was she who bought the huge diamond engagement ring because she was so particular about it being flawless and perfect. Maybe all she did was to choose it. Any which way, she gets to keep it – but she has to pay for it. That’s a lot of money to be paid but for Kim, she can well afford it. The thing is, who added that clause to the pre-nup? Was it Kim or maybe it could have been Kris who insisted on it? After as all, it is a very expensive piece of jewellery and while Hugh Hefner might gift the engagement ring to his ex-fiancée, Kris doesn’t look like he would. Of course, he would never have expected his marriage to break down in such a short time. As for Kim, it looks like she is buying the ring and she seems hell-bent on collecting as many diamonds as she can.

According to his friends, Kris had no inkling she was going to file for divorce and he is shocked. Looks like most celebrity marriages don’t really stand a chance for one reason or another.

The wedding was held in California and it was on a private estate. Kim wore a Vera Wang white wedding dress in Chantilly lace and her shoes were from Guiseppe Zanotti. She was given away by her step father and her sisters were maids of honour while her nephew was the ring bearer. Kris was in an Ermenegildo Zenga tuxedo.
Of course, the big question on everyone’s lips is, exactly how much money is the couple making from this wedding? There are the TV payments, the freebies and the photos sales. From what sources say, the gown, the cake and maybe even the rings were donated or sold at a discount to the couple. They were even paid to hold their bachelor and bachelorette parties. More money is expected at a supposed second wedding ceremony in ten days’ time. When you are as visible as these stars, sponsors just pay for every event in their life – and if that means a lack of privacy, neither Kim not Kris is complaining!

In the international competition that looked for the world’s best couple, the winners are a New Zealander and his wife who is US-born. The competition was open to people from the US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. There were thousands of couples who entered – after all, who wouldn’t want to get a million dollar diamond ring on their finger?

After all, they said, they have been in this business of romance and love for so many years so why not give away something while creating a buzz around it? The ring has a princess cut 22-carat diamond and the competition designers hoped that whoever won it would treasure it and that it would be a symbol of a lasting love.

The competition involved a series of online tests and the couples also had supporters voting for them. In the end, Cameron and Shariyah Morris were the winners and they are thrilled. The final judging was done by a panel and on that panel was the Sex and the City author as well - Candace Bushnell. There were six couples that figured in the final and this winning couple are so thankful for the incredible online support that they got.

Well, here’s how the story – or rather the rumour goes. Apparently the couple were out dining together and Reggie slipped the diamond engagement ring into her dessert. What the Facebook story asked was what would have happened if she had unwittingly swallowed it. They had a point there! Only Kim says that the Facebook page was false.
