There was so much talk that even after she and Russell Brand decided to call it a day, Katy Perry was still wearing her wedding ring – almost as though she still wanted to salvage what was left of the marriage. However, those rumours have all been laid to rest now with her having taken off her wedding ring that caused so much speculation and replacing it with a silver ring which has a blue stone. She was seen around town wearing the ring almost like she wanted everyone to know that things were absolutely over.
The thing is, the couple had already filed for divorce and it very definitely looked like Russell Brand had moved on. However, the fact that Katy’s wedding ring was still on was enough for people to feel that maybe there was some chance that they would get back together again. It’s happened before with celebrities and even if it isn’t like that in regular life, celebrities are known to play by a different set of rules and what might seem impossible for others may just work for them.
With Russell Brand and Katy Perry, marriage seemed such a strange union considering how different they are. Right now, both seem to be dignified about it and not fighting over things in the media and one hopes they can put this behind them and be civil. For now, that’s a pretty ring on Katy’s finger even though it isn’t a wedding ring.

Russell Brand and Katy Perry have been making the news for a while now and they have separated but when something about their marriage surfaces, it still makes big news. Apparently he took his wedding ring off as a joke and it was done while a comedy shot was being filmed. However, in retrospect, one wonders if he did it as a symbolic gesture as a month and a half after that, he filed for divorce. The video was being shot as a promotion for his American college tour in the middle of November and he made a really big show of taking the ring off. So was it stage-managed or what? Was he in fact trying to send out a message to everyone that this is what would be happening soon? He did say on the video that he was going to keep the ring away in a safe place.
Theirs has been a rocky marriage and being on two sides of the Atlantic very often and having hectic tours might not be conducive to a marriage especially in the early days. Katy Perry took it badly and with her family getting in the way and giving interviews to the press, things have turned murky. The news was that Russell wanted a divorce because he wanted children and she wasn’t ready for them yet.

When a regular guy happens to not wear his wedding ring one day, no one gives it a second thought. He could have put on weight, his ring could have gone to be resized, his finger could be hurt or he could just have forgotten to put it back on after a game of golf or tennis. However, when it happens to be Russell Brand, it’s big news and the speculation begins and everyone jumps onto the gossip bandwagon. That’s what comes of being a celebrity – anything you do is fodder for gossip.

Russell Brand was spotted on the streets of New York, strolling along sans his wedding ring. Before that, Katy Perry was spotted on the X Factor show without her wedding ring on and speculation flowed fast and furious on both sides of the Atlantic. However, it was back on her finger in a couple of days so all seemed well. And then, this. And so soon after the two were seen riding bicycles around town in New York. Katy had flown in specially to spend a few days with Russell in between her very hectic shooting schedules – and his tour schedules too.

So his finger without the ring brought back the old gossip that all wasn’t well with their marriage. Yes, they are apart very often thanks to their work and they both have quite punishing schedules. However, sources close to them say that they do spend quality time together like catching a movie together when they can or of course, cycling around together. The on-off wedding ring thing is another matter altogether and seeing so many stars resort to it, one wonders if it is just a ploy to keep them in the public eye. If they need to be seen in print, they need to be doing something that is different and worthy of gossip. Is that all there is to it?

She was seen on the X Factor without her wedding ring on. Had she taken it off just for the shoot or was there something more going on? Speculation has been on for a while about Katy Perry and Russell Brand for a while and whether all is well with their marriage. According to some, both have so much in common so it would sad to see them split up.

Katy is in London right now and it looks like when she is back, she just cannot get enough of British food so besides the food she loves like meat pies and Yorkshire pudding, she also goes crazy over beans. She was seen buying tins and tins of baked beans at Harrods. There is no news as to whether she was wearing her wedding ring while she was out shopping or not. The trouble is, they have such punishing schedules that they are hardly together and that does not augur well for a marriage. Maybe the stress of being apart so often is beginning to tell.

However, she was seen out after that with her mother-in-law, Barbara and the wedding ring was back on so it looks like things are all right for the moment. Katy has always gotten along very well with Barbara and it looks like the older woman is looking after her for a while. They went to the theatre and it looked like they were enjoying themselves. Russell is still going through a rather packed schedule across the Atlantic, touring in America and Canada while Katy is going to be busy with her Britain and Ireland tour in the weeks to come.

After that exotic Eastern wedding, now we finally see a wedding ring on Katy Perry’s finger. It’s been all of three weeks now since the hot news of their wedding hit the media. She and Russell Brand had a traditional wedding in India and then went off to one of the Maldives islands in the sun for a honeymoon.

The wedding itself was a very private and according to them a very spiritual one. And no, though they stayed in India’s tiger reserve, he absolutely did not gift her a tiger. Nor did they have a wedding feast that went on for days. What is true is that on the honeymoon in the Maldives, a spider spoiled their fun because Katy had to take medication after her brush with it and had to cope with a rash. Now that was a bit of a dampener to a holiday that was supposed to be all about the sea, sand and the sun.

Now, the two seem finally married after flaunting their matching gold wedding rings encrusted with diamonds. They were both at the MTV awards show in Spain and their wedding bands sparkled. Expensive, showy and some very serious bling seemed to be what everyone was thinking as they walked down that red carpet. There were a lot of other celebrity musicians as well at the ceremony but the focus seemed to be firmly on the newlyweds.

That’s the burning question – are they already married? We know that Russell Brand and Kate Perry are in India for their big fat Indian wedding but that is supposed to be this weekend. So what is Russell Brand doing wearing what looks like a wedding ring on his finger? Practising, maybe? What all their fans would like to know is if they are already married. And if they are, then we wonder what they are doing in India telling everyone they are getting married there.

Russell Brand is telling everyone not to expect something out of this world and that the wedding ceremony will be very mundane. Then, why all this hoopla about a grand wedding in India? He says it will be a regular wedding, with a first dance and everything and that no one should expect anything other than something normal. News reports say that they have booked a huge place and there are many guests expected. It’s all very hush-hush right now and no one really knows just what is going on.

And Katy has been seen wearing a special nose ring and that’s what Indian brides usually wear at their weddings. Maybe that’s why she was snapped getting out of an Indian airport with Russell’s jacket over her head? So we don’t really know what’s happening and we won’t, we’re guessing till after the weekend when the wedding’s over. Maybe the couple likes to keep everyone guessing? They are getting an awful lot of media space, anyway!

Are Russell Brand and Katy Perry planning a very small and private party for their wedding? Well that’s what they have been telling people, that they want it to be a private affair with just close friends and family and they want it to be a serious affair because it will be celebrating their love.

Now this from two people who love to party seems strange but they have assured everyone that they will also have a big bash where everybody can have fun besides this intimate party. According to Katy, the small private party was to make sure that their loved ones from both sides would integrate because she feels their love is important to them and this is what they want.
