Jennifer Love Hewitt just didn’t know how to keep her mouth shut. She went and bared all at that Ellen DeGeneres talk show and now she’s left with no engagement ring on her finger. We wonder why she did or rather said what she did? Imagine talking about it on a show for all the world to hear!

So what was it she said that made the man in question run? She had been with the man in her life for all of ten months and when Ellen asked her whether there would be an engagement soon, she said that even if he asked her to marry him, she would choose the ring. In fact, she said, she had already short listed three diamond rings at Tiffany’s and she would ask him to choose from one of those when he did propose. That was so she wouldn’t be disappointed if he bought her a ring and it was also to make sure that she would like the ring she would be wearing.

The only problem is, she just doesn’t have an engagement ring on her finger now. And if she doesn’t, she brought it on herself. Airing your views on public TV is really no way to hold onto your man – and you don’t need to be a relationship expert to know that. Hasn’t anyone told her that you just cannot count your chickens before they are hatched? Or in this case, don’t think about those engagement rings until you’ve been proposed to.

Everyone knows that Jennifer Love Hewitt loves Tiffany’s and at a recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres she had admitted that she preferred choosing her engagement ring herself. The news was that Hewitt had already sussed out the jewellery at the Beverly Hills Tiffany’s store and put three diamond rings on hold so when her beau proposed to her, he could choose from the rings that she had already short-listed.

She’s still waiting for Alex Beh to propose but she was seen a few days ago at the store. Was she checking whether the diamond rings she had chosen were still around? Or was she adding a few more rings that might have come in to add to the shortlist? One doesn’t really know but she did pick up some silver stuff from the boutique.

The interview was in January and Alex still hasn’t proposed which has led people to wonder whether he was put off by the whole public interview. According to Hewitt, she was doing him a favour and taking the onerous duty of choosing off his hands but maybe he didn’t see it that way because he doesn’t seem to have come up to scratch as yet. They are still together however and maybe it was a bit premature on Hewitt’s part because the subject of marriage hasn’t come up as yet between them.

He hasn’t asked her yet but the actress has short listed three potential engagement rings just in case her boyfriend does ask her to marry him. Now that’s some way to go, especially when she confessed to having out three rings on hold for the possibility at Tiffany’s. And it hasn’t even been a year since she has been dating beau Alex Beh.

She came out with it on an Ellen DeGeneres show and even Ellen was quite surprised to say the least. Maybe Ellen wasn’t quite convinced she should be doing this but the Ghost Whisperer star was quite nonchalant about the whole thing. What about the surprise element – would she want that? She was quite categorical and said she would prefer to know what she was getting because men aren’t too good at choosing, especially when it came to engagement rings.

Jennifer has not really had too much luck in the love stakes and it’s been one broken relationship after another but she feels in this case, if women behaved like her, they would really be doing men a favour by not putting them through the hassles of having to choose a ring. Well, that’s one way of looking at things.

It’s a book that more humourous than serious advice and one wonders if this was Jamie, the stand up comedian’s influence.

They were seen at the reputed jewellery store recently and apparently they bought love bracelets for each other. Well, now the rumours are that they are on the look out for an engagement ring for Jennifer’s finger.

Jennifer Love Hewitt and Ross McCall were a couple till last year but they broke it off and since then, Jennifer’s name has been linked with her co-star’s Jamie Kennedy. The two act together in the serial ‘Ghost Whisperer’ and now maybe their reel life togetherness is going to spill over to real life. Looks like their wedding is on the cards for later this year.
