We all know that Jamie Hince isn’t exactly rolling in money and that Kate Moss is but it does not seem to affect the couple, which is such a good thing. Jamie knew that when he asked Kate to marry him, no way would he be able to buy her the ring she would have wanted and deserved. So he did the next best thing – he used the money that she had given him for a recording studio to buy her a diamond engagement ring. Not only that, he seemed to know exactly what she would like so he designed it in the style of Zelda Fitzgerald’s ring. He obviously knew she would be delighted with a ring like her heroine’s.

So Kate actually paid for her own engagement ring even though she didn’t know it. However, it was a sweet gesture on James’s part considering that he didn’t have the money but still wanted her to have a ring befitting her. And Kate has so much money, she probably won’t even notice the difference but will feel great that he loves her enough to get her the best. They were seen recently enjoying an Indian meal together at Soho after being at Garrard’s Jewellers for an event.

Yes, sources have said that their affair has been an on and off one but now it looks like they are both ready to settle down. Kate calls herself his Sugar Mummy and is quite all right about doling out the money for him to do what he wants with it. According to sources, Kate is not going to let him off the hook in a hurry – not even the fact that she could probably buy thousands more rings like that will help in her forgetting it or being annoyed at how careless he could be. Add to that the fact that she wasn’t recognised by the doorman when she got to that particular show and you can see why she must be seething.

Both Kate and Jamie were wearing silver rings and she was wearing it over her engagement ring – a beautiful diamond ring. The couple has been holidaying in Italy for two weeks. Sources say that they have bought a place on Stromboli Island in Italy because they just love the volcanic island.
