Eve Myles is all set to move to America for the next six or seven months to shoot Torchwood, the American version. The science fiction series has been a great hit in the US and she’ll have to spend a few months there to complete the series. Before that, she has a tight schedule which involves a remake of The Fabulous Baker Boys by the BBC Wales TV and a film shoot in Bulgaria.

For Eve, nothing compares with the joy that her seven month baby Matilda has brought her. Ever since she has been born, Eve says she wakes up smiling and she feels she is the best thing that has happened to her. Apparently she’s a really sweet baby, always cheerful and she sleeps right through the night. It looks like Eve is savouring every moment with her little baby who she says has eyes just like her father.

Eve has been with actor Bradley Freegard for a long time and she wears an eternity ring he gave her on her thirtieth birthday. She confirms that it is not a wedding ring though they will think of getting married after their busy spell is done. Brad, Matilda and their dog Honey will go along with Eve to America when Torchwood is being shot.

It’s a sad day when an old lady is robbed of her engagement ring and eternity ring but that’s what happened to Betty Keenan of Coventry who is devastated by the loss. At that age one gets even more sentimental about engagement and wedding rings and it’s sad she has had to live through this.

The thieves also made off with her TV and radio CD player. She had just celebrated the twelfth death anniversary of her husband a couple of days before this and then the thieves struck. Apparently she would remove the rings every night and put them beside a picture of her late husband. It was from there that the thieves made off with them. She hopes they will be returned and her family has appealed for their return.

An expensive diamond ring was lost, returned by an honest employee and the next thing you know, it’s being claimed by someone who the ring did not belong to. The Suffolk County police in the US however, are quite confident that they will bring this false claimant to book and she might just face serious charges for claiming something so expensive that was not hers.

It all began when a well meaning person working at Target saw the ring on a counter and ran after the wrong woman and asked if she had lost a ring. She said she had and he gave her the ring as he had no cause not to believe her. This diamond ring was worth over £11,500 and it was an eternity band made of platinum. And all this while, the actual owner of the ring was looking for it all over the shop. The ring had been given to her by her husband and though it was insured, it was the sentimental value that was all-important to her.

Isn’t it nice when something you thought you had lost years ago and given up getting back resurfaces? At Ponteland, there’s work going on to redo the old bathrooms and kitchens in one of the buildings there on Callerton Lane. Well, what it turned up were two rings which made two tenants very happy indeed.

One got her wedding ring back – it was found by the workmen under the floorboards. The other got her mother’s eternity ring back – also from under the floorboards. The wonderful thing was how honest the workmen were to return these old rings that they found. The women, as expected, were thrilled to bits to get back these treasures.
