In Los Angeles, there was a strange crime reported. Apparently a man from Shreveport stole a credit card from his girlfriend and bought an engagement ring – for her! That was the reason for his theft – so he could afford to buy her an engagement ring. The strange thing is, why did he steal the credit card from her?

Maybe because it just happened that he had access to her purse and the credit card was right there. Maybe it was an impulsive thing and when he saw that credit card, he just couldn’t help himself but decided to use it to buy the ring. The credit card belonged to her boss and it was in her purse and he just used it to go out and buy what he wanted.

The man is now in a correction centre and a bond – a rather large one has been set. It’s just not on stealing your fiancée’s boss’s card from her purse to buy her an engagement ring!

There’s a gold engagement ring that has been found in Langley in British Columbia, Canada but thus far, no one has come forward to claim the ring. Caoimhe Guilfoyle, of Big Brother fame does not wear an engagement ring on her finger but she says that marriage plans with Dave Mulligan, her boyfriend are on. However she does admit that it was possible that their engagement could be a rather long one. The engagement that she says is on without the engagement ting.

There he was, all set to propose when nature disposed of his plans. They were lucky that the ring was insured but we wonder how many more men have planned things so well and lost their rings. It might be so much better if they just hid a note saying ‘Will you marry me?’ in such places and take out the ring from their pockets when the girl said ‘Yes’.

Mengagement rings have been making news for the past few years now and now we have the famous Canadian singer sporting one, very proudly. He tells us that it is the custom in Argentina for men to wear an engagement ring too – and his fiancée is from there so he feels very comfortable doing just that.

In this day and age, that might not seem unseemly except that her fiancé hasn’t got his divorce from his previous wife yet. So is the engagement ring in anticipation of the divorce or is she telling him to get on with it and get married to her soon?
