In New York, one of the most trusted diamond appraisers is the Gem Lab which is situated in West Henrietta Street. Whether it’s appraising, cleaning, resizing or resetting, this lab has made a name for itself, over 50 years, as being the experts.

Take the case of Mark Wheaton. Rose talked to the press at the Style Awards early this week. This was Hollywood Life’s fifth annual show. She seems to be all set to tie the knot and was quite happy to talk about her wedding plans. What she would like to do, she said, was to zip off to an island for the wedding – and leave the planning to someone else.

The event also had many stars who had come dressed to the hilt in creations by all the hottest designers. There was a parade of designer dresses from Dolce & Gabbana, Helmut Lang and DKNY among others. .

Jennifer Hudson, one of the finalists in the American Idol series a few years ago and Oscar wining star of Dream Girls had an engagement with a difference on her 27th birthday. This was the day she got engaged to her boyfriend David Otunga and was it a unique engagement!

In the first place, she wasn’t expecting it. So the proposal on her 27th birthday took her by surprise. They were on the beach and suddenly David gave her a purple shovel and asked her to dig into the sand. Purple, she says is her favourite colour. As she kept digging into the sand, she kept finding cards, each one with a message that related to the next. Till finally the one she found asked her to turn around because David had a gift for her. An engagement ring, of course!

Jennifer proudly displayed her diamond engagement ring for all to see at a recent TV show and it was obvious that she was ecstatic. She puts it down to him being such a beautiful guy – the reason why he is so? According to Jennifer, it’s because he’s an attorney from Harvard Law School!
