The funny man of the popular TV series ‘Little Britain’ is engaged and that too after dating supermodel Lara Stone for just a few months. He’s 38 and she’s 25 and they both sound very happy. Apparently David called up her parents in the Netherlands so he could ask them for their blessings. Only after that did he propose to her.
According to sources, the engagement ring has a large diamond which is said to be around 4 carats. It is a round shaped diamond and it is set in a diamond band. Lara Stone has recently been in the news because she has replaced Madonna as the face of Louis Vuitton. The company has gone back to using models – only, unlike the usual Size Zero models that most use, they prefer a flesh and blood model with sexy curves and the gap-toothed beauty seems to fit the bill very well for their Spring Collection this year.

It looks like that – she had on a huge sparkler at LA’s airport recently as she signed autographs. And it was on her ring finger so it looks like she is engaged to her beau, John Krasinski. They have been dating for a while and he really dotes on her and treats her so well – something she just loves!
She acted in The Devil Wears Prada while he stars in The Office series. No sooner did the news about the engagement ring hit the stands than their fans were at it – wishing them all the very best on the Internet. No, they haven’t talked about wedding dates as yet but we’re guessing it’s early days yet and they will announce it by and by.

Two youngsters have found a diamond ring – and an expensive one at that. They were jogging near the Manoa Park in Honolulu when they found this ring and they weren’t very sure whether it was real or not. So they took it to a jeweler who told them it was very real indeed and valued it at £33,000!
The centre diamond was around four carats and there were smaller diamonds around it. Considering how few rings have a diamond this big, they wondered how it was lost and no one was looking for it. The boys are busy trying to find out who the ring belongs to because they are quite sure that it must hold a lot of sentimental value for the person who lost it.

He’s grown up in the spotlight as a part of the Jonas Brothers boy band group. The band was a popular Disney Channel children’s network group and while they may have been made fun of a bit because of their religious leanings and their purity rings, they are a very popular band. And now, Kevin has got engaged to Danielle Deleasa and he proposed to her with a ring that he had designed himself.
The engagement ring has a 3-carat diamond in the centre and there are 210 diamonds set in a pave design on either side. Little wonder she said Yes about five hundred times. She says she was surprised and when she realised it was for real, she said Yes – all those many times – and then started crying.

In Oregon, USA, a woman took off her wedding ring and her diamond engagement ring at a tanning booth and forgot them there. She didn’t realise that she didn’t have them on till she went home and much later, when she realised she had misplaced them, the tanning booth was shut for the day. The following day, she came back to look for them and they were nowhere to be found.
The wedding ring was made of white gold with diamond chips and the engagement ring had three diamonds. The woman lodged a police compliant but also went to the press and made a public appeal for their return saying that there would be no questions asked if they were given back. The rings were put into her mailbox in an envelope. She is so happy to have them back especially as they were not insured. The police however, want to get to the bottom of the case because even though the rings were returned, it still qualifies as theft.

In New Zealand, a 29-year old man got rejected by the woman he wanted to marry and he’s heartbroken. So now, he wants to give away the engagement ring he bought her and he’s doing it in a unique way – by organising a treasure hunt in Wellington, NZ with the clues on Twitter. What a great example of a game that’s been around for ages and new age technology coming together. Add the emotional appeal of a diamond engagement ring and a broken heart to that and it has all the elements to make it a big story.
The ring must cost around £2000 and if you aren’t in or around Wellington, you wouldn’t obviously be participating. However, with Twitter the way it is, we’re sure there will be many watching from around the world – virtually – and cheering the participants on.

A Korean jewellery company called LUVU has designed an extraordinary new engagement ring box. It is in the shape of an egg but it’s a lot more than that. This very modern and contemporary egg shaped box has a special sensor. So when a man presents a girl with it when he proposes to her, she is supposed to kiss it.
It is like a fairytale because the magic kiss makes the box fly open thanks to special sensors that react to the heat in human lips. There’s more – when the box opens up, the ring which is strategically placed in the centre is lit up by LED lights that light it up from all sides as the bottom portion of the box rotates so the ring goes around. All of this with music to go with the occasion. Of course, you can have precious stones put into the inside and outside of the box if you wish and have it custom made with your design.
So now, the engagement ring finally gets fitting packaging to go with it – beautiful, unique and something both the younger as well as the older customers would love.

An absolutely flawless blue diamond which has been unveiled by Sotheby’s will be the main item at an auction in Geneva early May. It is estimated to fetch over £3 million. The colour of the diamond is so rare – it is a vivid blue and it looks like this will be the rarest gem to go on sale this year. The stone was mined in the South African Cullinan mine which has given the world some other rare stones as well.
The rough diamond was nearly 40 carats before it was cut and polished and no internal flaw is visible which along with its colour is what makes it so rare. Will it sell in this recessionary climate? Though the sale of regular diamonds has fallen quite sharply over the past few months, rare gems seem to not be affected at all by what is happening around the globe. The prices don’t seem to fall either when it comes to something that is unique.
This diamond does not have a name as yet – this time, they are letting the one who is fortunate enough to buy it do the honours. So there will be a christening as it were after the sale.

There are strange things that are found in strange places. In Staffordshire, when the Alton Towers Corkscrew Rollercoaster was being cleaned up prior to it being dismantled, there were a number of things that were found. Among them were a diamond wedding ring, a prosthetic leg and twelve St. Christopher crosses. The wedding ring and the crosses might not have caused much of a surprise but the leg definitely did and the park officials wonder how on earth someone could not have missed a leg!
The Corkscrew Rollercoaster is the oldest one in the park and its claim to fame in the years gone by was the fact that it was the first double loop roller coaster in Europe. It was set up in 1980 and it has taken over 40 million people for a ride. On November 9, the park will allow people to have one final ride on this famous rollercoaster before it becomes history.
