Diamond Engagement Rings

It’s in one of the classified ads that has appeared in a US newspaper in Concord and the lady who is no doubt old, didn’t want to reveal her name. The story behind the loss is poignant however.

It all began 55 years ago – on Easter Sunday to be precise. The man had hidden a Tiffany’s yellow gold diamond engagement ring inside a wax Easter egg and it was meant to be a surprise for the young girl he wanted to marry. She obviously accepted his proposal and soon she had a yellow gold wedding band to match.

Then, 55 years later, she lost both her rings and she does not know where as she was between doctors’ appointments and hair appointments. She’s offering a reward to get her rings back and she’s devastated that after so long, they are no longer on her finger. We do hope for her sake that she does find them.

The beautiful Mena Suvari, the female star of the movie, American Beauty is engaged to Simone Sestito, the music producer and dancer. The happy event took place while they were on holiday in Jamaica. He designed her diamond engagement ring and sources say that they are planning their wedding for sometime soon.

Mena says she wants the wedding to be like a fairytale so they are looking as far afield as Rome for a great location because they would like the wedding to be held in Italy. Very natural as Simone is Italian-Canadian. Mena is already talking to her friend Stacy of Alice+Olivia to design her wedding dress and it looks like it’s going to be a dream come true gown. Are footballer Reggie Bush and Kim Kardashian engaged? Or was it just a rumour? It all began when someone posted up the news on Facebook and then there was no stopping it. Even Kim’s publicist thought it was true and called them up so he could congratulate them.

Kim, in true Hollywood style has hotly denied the rumours. She just could not imagine how anyone could start a rumour like this especially as she says she does not have a presence in Facebook.

Well, here’s how the story – or rather the rumour goes. Apparently the couple were out dining together and Reggie slipped the diamond engagement ring into her dessert. What the Facebook story asked was what would have happened if she had unwittingly swallowed it. They had a point there! Only Kim says that the Facebook page was false. Time, in true Hollywood tradition, is sure to tell.

She took them off and kept them on the sink but somehow they fell off and while one was found in the trash can, the other got flushed down the toilet bowl. Janelle Vann lost her £18,000 diamond engagement ring and she was shattered.

This happened in Westchase, Florida and all she could think of was how soon to call a plumber, hoping that she would find the ring. However, plumber after plumber said there was no hope of finding it. Then she managed to contact a group called the Drain Doctors and they came to help with hi-tech equipment. What they did was to feed in a fibre optic camera down the toilet bowl till it went through the pipes and located the ring which was nearly 25 feet away.

The problem of how to retrieve the ring now cropped up. Would it mean digging up all the tiles? That would entail such a huge amount by way of repairs. However, this group managed to get the ring back after hours of hard work without having to rip out anything. Janelle was thrilled to bits and the group was so glad that they brought the smile back to her face.

Sources have it that the Diehard star and his girlfriend were looking at diamond engagement rings. So are we going to hear wedding bells ring for Bruce Willis and Emma Heming, his model girlfriend?

One might wonder what a toy company is thinking of, marketing a plaything for that incredible amount, However, the doll has diamonds that weigh over 50 carats so with all that dazzle, we are guessing there will be any number of women who go back to their childhood and demand to have that doll bought for them. Licca-chan the doll wears a gown and a tiara and is said to have around 880 diamonds on her. Now that’s a lot of diamond dazzle for a toy!

Rumour has it that tennis ace Roger Federer was seen with his girlfriend Miroslava Varrivec shopping for a ring in Dubai. This took place apparently at the Atlantis Resort, the luxurious area that houses the famous jewellery store, Levant.

What exactly were they shopping for? A shopper said Roger was interested in diamond rings – and he was looking at the really large stones. One of the stones that were shown to him was a flawless D-diamond weighing 60 carats, the largest one the store had and the other was a pink cusion diamond which was 15 carats.

There’s a Film Festival on at Abu Dhabi this coming weekend and there are a whole host of celebrities crowding into Dubai’s super luxury hotels. Some of the ones spotted were Michael Douglas and his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jane Fonda, Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas and Susan Sarandon.

Roger Federer and his girlfriend have been together for some years now and she is always by his side whenever he plays to cheer him on. It is said that she’s the one who manages all the finances and does a good job of it. We wonder when the wedding bells will ring.
