Katrina Bowden’s Huge Diamond Engagement Ring

Sunday, February 5th, 2012

The Screen Actors Guild dazzled with diamonds. There were a number of jewellers who draped the stars with diamonds so that the red carpet looked like one shimmery space with the stars all dressed to the hilt. Of course, there were actors and actresses who wore their own jewellery as well and one of them was Katrina Bowden of the TV series 30 Rock. Many of the others basked in the glow of diamonds in order to advertise them but Katrina’s magnificent diamond ring stood out amidst all of them.
The diamond engagement ring that her fiancé Ben Jorgensen gave her was worth nearly £20,000 and it has a 2-carat princess cut diamond in the centre with two round diamonds on either side. The ring is set in platinum and it tapers down from these three diamonds with other round diamonds set in channels. She had on an outfit by Amsale, bag by Judith Leiber and shoes by Stuart Weitzman and they were so complementary to the dress.
The couple first met seven years ago when they were both very young and they felt the connection. Then, when they met again two years ago, they knew this was real. What a romantic story! Katrina acts in the very successful series which airs on NBC and while she was a guest star in the first few episodes, she became a permanent fixture after that as the laid-back assistant who wears revealing outfits. Ben is a musician and was the lead singer and guitarist for Armor for Sleep though he as parted ways with them now and has gone solo.

Is Jessica Biel Going To Get Second Engagement Ring?

Saturday, January 28th, 2012

If rumours are to be believed, Justin Timberlake proposed to girlfriend Jessica Biel with a diamond ring. Only it was a rather small diamond ring and apparently she wanted something that was a bit more showy. Maybe he thought small was classy and elegant but it looks like she was looking for a bit more bling. Which is why even though the rumours about their engagement are so hot, there’s no ring to be seen.
According to sources, Justin proposed to her last month in Wyoming where they were on holiday. However, it seems that she wasn’t amused with the minimalistic diamond engagement ring. So according to people in the know, Justin Timberlake is going to ask his mother for help to help him choose a more suitable ring. He feels that she really should be given what she wants.
Of course, there are those who say that Justin proposed to Jessica because he wanted her to stop about his straying and it looks like there have been a number of instances where he was suspected of having played the field. This engagement of course would put those rumours to rest. And it would also, so they say, help her to keep quiet because his friends feel that he has no desire to get married any time in their near future. Justin is known to just love his single status and his freedom so it might be a long while before they actually get married. However, he obviously did not want to lose her so now it looks like he has the best of both worlds.

No Diamond Engagement Ring But Man Proposes

Wednesday, December 28th, 2011

It wasn’t the engagement proposal Jason from Pelton, County Durham was expecting. He had planned it all so well. He wanted to propose to his girlfriend, Nicola on New Year’s Eve so he went out and bought a beautiful diamond engagement ring and waited for the big day to arrive. But the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.
They went off to visit the family over Christmas and returned home the next day to find that their home had been broken into. The gold and diamond engagement ring had been stolen, even though Jason had hidden it. The receipt for the sale however, had been overlooked by the thieves and it was still there. The whole house had been ransacked and even personal things like Jason’s diary in memory of his brother had been pulled out.
So as they were sitting in the back of a police van, Jason had to tell the policemen just what had been stolen and he had to confess about the engagement ring and ruin the surprise he had so carefully planned. Now that Nicola knew, he proposed to her right there in the van and she got very emotional and accepted. So there was no engagement ring but one happy couple. Jason definitely did not want to propose inside a police van but there was nothing else he could do when the secret of the engagement ring was out. The ring still hasn’t been recovered but there have been a couple of arrests of possible suspects that have been made and the police are hoping for a breakthrough in the case.

Stanford Couple Finds Engagement Ring After 36 Years

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

Finding an engagement ring after so many years is incredible. What is even more incredible is that the couple is still together and still very much in love with each other. They have been together for forty years now, from the time he was a nineteen year old and she was the new girl in town.
When she was pregnant, Donna once removed her diamond engagement ring and put it on the lid of the toilet tank but it slipped in and even though they removed the bowl and looked for it, they couldn’t find it. They moved out in a few years and the house has been sold and resold many times after that. The last group of people who bought it were hunters.
It was strange that while Terry, the husband and their son were working on a roof close to their old home, they saw one of the owners bring out the old toilet bowl to dump it. Terry offered to do it for them, took it to his shop where he got it cracked open with s sledgehammer. It was so amazing – the ring was there, undamaged. The couple and the family were so happy. The engagement ring was back where it belonged.

Heirloom Engagement Ring Lost A Week Before Wedding

Friday, November 25th, 2011

It isn’t easy for Kacey from Somers, Wisconsin in America. Just a week before her wedding when she should be busy with the final arrangements for the wedding, she is filled with sadness that she lost her heirloom diamond engagement ring. A ring that belonged to her fiancé’s grandmother and which she feels is irreplaceable.

She works at a cake decorating store and as she cannot wear the ring while she is working, she leaves it at home. That morning, she noticed that she had the ring on so she removed it and put it into her purse. Then, after work, she realised that she had left her car keys inside the car so she and her brother-in-law tried to get the car open. While this was happening, she put her purse on top of the car. It must have taken them around fifteen minutes and when they managed to get the car door open, she was so relieved, she forgot about the bag on top, got into the car and drove off.

Then, at an intersection, another driver told her that her bag had fallen off on the road. By the time she turned around and went to the spot, the bag was gone. She was all set to call and cancel her credit cards when it hit her – that one day, her beautiful engagement ring had been there too. It was a beautiful one-carat princess cut diamond ring with two round diamonds flanking the large diamond on either side. It’s been a tough time for Kacey because her heart is set on finding that ring and she has appealed to anyone who might have found it to return it to her.

Love, Luck, Losing And Finding An Engagement Ring

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

She was playing polo in the Dawn Fraser Baths in Balmain, Australia when she jumped up to save a goal and saw her precious diamond engagement ring go flying. Her heart sank because this was no ordinary swimming pool. It was Australia’s oldest swimming pool, built in the early 1880s and it is a heritage tidal salt water swimming pool so the chances of finding something as small as an engagement ring were very small.

Joanne Norman’s husband used to be a soldier in the Special Forces and he had been based in Afghanistan. He had saved right through his posting there to be able to buy her the engagement ring and her heart sank when she realised what had happened. She knew that the pool was an ocean pool and so the bottom would be full of silt and that the danger of the ring going out into the ocean during high tide was a possibility. Though they searched for quite a while, they had to give up when it began to get dark.

Then they found a diver online and that is when their luck turned. Other divers had been called in but there was no sign of the diamond engagement ring. Brad was a scuba diver and a metal detector and he turned over every bit of silt at the bottom of the pool till he found the ring. There was so much emotion when he surfaced with it. Brad owns a metal detector and though business isn’t too much, he has helped people find a number of lost articles.

Man Digs Through Landfill For Wife’s Engagement Ring

Tuesday, November 15th, 2011

When he accidentally threw out his wife’s engagement ring into the garbage, little did Brian McGuinn from Florida, USA realise how tough things were going to get for him. However, he had to go through this extreme measure because it had been his fault that this loss occurred and it was up to him to get it back if he could to keep his wife happy.

It was an accident, actually and it all began when his wife went in to shower and handed her engagement ring to her husband, no doubt confident that he would put it someplace safe. That was not to be because when she handed him the ring, he had a garbage bag in his other hand. He had been on his way to empty the trash and that’s what he did – only he threw the ring too into the trash can by mistake. It took him a while to realise just what he had done and he was horrified but by the time that happened, the trash had been collected and it was gone. So what else could he do but to go to the landfill where the trash would have been emptied and try to find it?

Brian says that he loves his wife so much, he really couldn’t think of anything but digging through all that garbage in the landfill to try and find the ring. He knew come what may, he had to have that diamond engagement ring back on her finger. He says it was awful but he finally found it and now it is back where it belongs. Of course, his wife Anne is going to make sure he is never in charge of that ring again.

Was Kim’s Diamond Engagement Ring Just A Publicity Stunt?

Sunday, November 13th, 2011

The world watched as Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries tied the knot. They were right there on the TV screen every step of the way right through the preparations, right through the wedding ceremony, right through the reception. It looked like a match made in heaven with the whole world watching. And then came the shocking news – they were splitting up after seventy-two days!

As news about the impending divorce flashed across the world, what everyone wanted to know was who would get the enormous diamond engagement ring worth with its 20 carat diamond. Would Kris ask for it back? Or would he be magnanimous and let her keep it? Finally the news leaked out that she was going to buy it off Kris because she loves diamonds and couldn’t bear to give it up. Now, news has filtered out that the very same ring was seen on Kim’s finger in pictures of way back 2007 when she bought the huge sparkler for herself. So was it all just a big charade? Did Kris just pick up the ring from Kim and then put it back on her finger?

There is speculation that the whole thing was set up by E! So was it just a melodrama acted out on the TV screen to satisfy the voyeuristic tendencies of millions of viewers? And what about the huge sponsorship deals that went into the wedding? Were they all fake too? Some viewers felt that the whole wedding was very staged and over-acted in parts. So maybe they are right after all. Maybe that is all it was and the divorce hopes to keep the whole piece of news very much in the public eye even today.

The Traditional Solitaire Diamond Ring Has Alternatives

Saturday, November 12th, 2011

For ever so long, it was the solitaire ring that was the most popular when it came to a diamond engagement ring. Then, of course, there was the gold wedding band where many women started preferring the eternity diamond ring. However, the solitaire diamond engagement ring didn’t undergo much of a change till recently. Today, there are diamonds with other gemstones and there are diamonds used in a hundred different ways – all of them meant to be unique and eye-catching. The times they are a-changing and having a diamond ring that everyone notices seems to be the order of the day.

Take for example, a huge diamond ring that had a ball made of pave diamonds to look like a disco ball. It was snapped up as an engagement ring and the person wearing it is no doubt happy that it looks like a very huge sparkler but doesn’t cost anything as much. There are many others who are getting rings designed so they look like huge cocktail rings but are worn everyday because they are engagement rings. And many of them cost very much less that a solitaire would cost. This could be because of the economic problems confronting many and it could be a way around to not spend so much money on the engagement ring and yet have a ring that looks great.

There was a case where someone who couldn’t afford a diamond engagement solitaire ring asked for a love knot and on that, they wanted pave diamonds so that it would have the look of a diamond ring. Then, the jeweller realised that he could make a range of rings like this to cater to this market. Suddenly, women are more open to the idea that they can look beyond a solitaire for an engagement ring. Engagement rings are getting to be more personal now and people have started designing their own rings with even messages inside.
