Cartier Diamond Ring Stolen
Wednesday, October 20th, 2010There are any number of thieves who set their sights on a Cartier ring but to steal it right from a Cartier store requires some gumption. Well, that’s exactly what happened in Rome. In the Cartier jewellery store that is situated on Via Condotti, there’s been a theft of the most expensive diamond ring that the store had.
Here’s how it happened. No, the thieves were not armed – just well dressed men. There were two of them and they walked in and asked to be shown the diamond ring that cost the most in the store. No arms, no hold up so how on earth could anyone have suspected them? When the salespeople took it out and showed it to them, they just walked out, got into a car that was at the door, waiting, and drove off, leaving everyone in the store stunned. From a very objective point of view, it was done with a great deal of panache!
The two men looked like foreigners according to the news report and they have been described to be well dressed and in their forties. The police in Rome are on the lookout for them. Yes, the store did have in-house vigilance cameras that were working so they have the men’s pictures on film. Hopefully, it shouldn’t be too difficult to catch them before they flee the country.
