The Latest In Engagement Rings: 100 Facet Diamonds
Wednesday, July 29th, 2009The traditional brilliant cut diamonds that are usually the diamonds of choice for engagement rings have 57 facets and that produces quite a dazzle. So imagine what the effect would be like if there were a hundred facets. Well, that’s what the famous jeweller Roberto Coin thought and he has introduced the Cento or the diamond with a hundred facets to the world and you just can’t beat it for brilliance.
On the top of the diamond are 37 facets, on the bottom are 63. So the refection of light is amazing with a diamond like this. You can get a 100-facet diamond only if it is more than .07 carats. The stones should be flawless with very little SI or small inclusions and it should be a colourless diamond. Roberto Coin is also very particular that the diamonds used are strictly conflict-free. The new Cento Collection features these diamonds used in engagement rings as well as right through the gamut of diamond jewellery.
