Photographing The Wedding Rings

A wedding very often passes by as a blur for the couple. Ask around and you’ll probably hear quite a few say that the whole day went by in a daze for them. The most important day in their lives – and they cannot recall everything that happened. Thank goodness for photographs and videos! There are times when the bride and groom don’t even know who was there till they take a look at the wedding pictures.

There is such a thrill going over your wedding photographs and videos. There is a warm feeling of nostalgia and there are so many memories that each picture or frame evokes. What’s more, you get to see whatever you might have missed at your own wedding. It is also a great photographic document of the day to show your children and grandchildren.

When you organise a wedding photographer, one thing you could ask him to pay attention to are the wedding rings. If you make the best man in charge of the wedding ring photography, you could get some really nice pictures of the wedding rings together. This could be done before you come to church. It would then mean that you would have pictures of the rings by themselves as well as after they have been slipped onto your fingers.

Then of course, it is so important to take pictures or videos when the wedding rings are being exchanged. A good and experienced photographer will make sure that there are close-ups of this part of the ceremony and this could be done without being obtrusive and interfering with the sanctity of the proceedings.

If the wedding rings are exchanged in a more casual atmosphere – outdoors or on the beach, then the photographer has to capture the mood around but not forget those close-ups. The wedding ring could be photographed before the wedding with something that embodies the theme for the wedding.

One might just wonder why all this fuss? Isn’t it enough if this wonderful day were etched in our memories? Well, the fact is that very often the couple is in a daze as we said before. And our memories could fade – but the pictures will always be around to jog our memory a bit and bring back all those wonderful feelings. And in pride of place will be pictures of the most wonderful symbol of that wedding day – the wedding rings. You need to preserve them for posterity.
