Gemma Atkinson Wears Marcus Bent’s £100,000 Diamond Engagement Ring

Sunday, November 9th, 2008

Birmingham striker is supposed to have gone down on one knee to propose to Gemma Atkinson end-October and she now wears a huge rock for an engagement ring on her finger. It happened when the couple had gone for a break to the Lake District and they came back engaged.

The couple’s romantic journey has been an on-off thing. It all began over two years ago but they drifted apart. Gemma Atkinson stars in I’m a Celebrity, a jungle reality show and after they had split up, she was heard to say that she thought she was too young to settle down. So this engagement comes as a bit of a surprise. Yes, the two were seen around together before she left for Australia for the shoot.

She calls him her diamond in the rough and apparently he is very romantic. Will it last? Marcus has been seen around with glamorous models when Gemma and he were not together. However, this time around, it looks like a rosy future is ahead for both of them.

Wedding Ring Payment Tangle

Saturday, November 8th, 2008

A young couple bought their wedding rings at a jeweller’s store and got married in June. Though they had paid for the wedding rings by credit card, they got a lot of money as gifts during their wedding and so decided to pay off the amount through an online bill payment company. Imagine their shock when they got a reminder from the jewellery store that they hadn’t paid. Jason and Sarah Williams from Sacramento, USA were nonplussed because their online bill payment records showed that the money had been credited to the company.

It was only after quite a bit of confusion that they realized that there were two online companies with the same name and the payment had gone to the wrong company. There were two Rogers Jewellers – while one was the store in Sacramento they had bought their white gold wedding rings from, the payment had erroneously gone to a store of the same name in Iowa. What followed was worse – the store that received the money didn’t return it to them so they ended up paying for their rings twice. Well, the online payment company gave them a refund so all’s well that ends well.

Is Nicole’s Diamond Ring An Engagement Ring?

Friday, November 7th, 2008

Spotted with boyfriend Lewis Hamilton in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Nicole Scherzinger had a large diamond ring on her left hand and suspicions are it’s an engagement ring. The two have been together for a while now and the singer even wrote a song for him.

Lewis Hamilton has just become the new Formula One champion after the Brazilian Grand Prix after which Nicole posted a video online proclaiming her love for him. She doesn’t hide her feelings for him and has been pretty open about their affair since the time they started dating in spring this year.

In Brazil, even as reporters and photographers crowded around to take pictures of the two of them, she put her left hand up to her waist all the better to show off her ring – so little wonder everyone’s talking. With a rock like that, it looks like they are all set to announce their engagement to the world.

Getting Married Without A Wedding Ring

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Imagine making all the arrangements for a wedding, then find that the wedding rings that were ordered hadn’t come. Well that was the plight of a couple in Singapore. They had planned it down to the last detail and everything including the caterers, the gown, the photographers and the invitations are ready. All except the wedding rings.

The couple had paid the initial deposit money for the diamond wedding rings but unfortunately, the shop where they ordered the diamond rings from closed down and the couple had no idea where to go to get their rings. They called, they emailed but there was no response. Even the website was down. They have tracked down some of the Directors of the company but it looks like it will be quite a while before they get any response. So they just intend to go ahead with the wedding without the rings. Will they get the wedding rings they had ordered? We do hope so.

The wedding was held in Montreal, in St. Patrick’s Basilica and it was attended by the former Prime Minister and his wife. The wedding was an intimate affair for just family and a few close friends. The couples’ love story goes right back to their school days. They knew each other from those days and had always stayed friends.

Jessica Brownstein is a fashion designer from Montréal and Ben is the host of Canadian Idol. Apparently, the couple wrote their own vows and read them to each other. The priest conducted the wedding service but it was blessed by a rabi. After the service, Ben and his wife hurried off to get into a waiting limousine.

Lab Pup Swallows Diamond Engagement Ring

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

From Long Island comes an amazing tale. Claudio Grammatico’s daughter was getting married and on her wedding day, their Labrador pup swallowed her diamond engagement ring. Claudio had just lost her son when a drunken driver had caused his death so she just didn’t have the heart to punish the dog who was also probably grieving.

After the wedding, the X-rays showed that the ring was in him so they just had to wait for him to pass it out – which took all of four days. Dogs do the most unexpected things! What it did do for the family was to bring a smile on their faces again after their sad loss. Today, Claudio speaks at organ donor functions and the like and uses the X-ray to make a point.

Diamond Ring Found In Supermarket

Sunday, November 2nd, 2008

In Florida, a woman found a diamond ring in a wholesale supermarket and promptly returned it to the office. She works at the BJ’s Wholesale Club and as she was walking along the meat aisle, Mary Klemm saw something glittering on the floor and picked it up, only to find that it was a diamond ring.

Well, it was a lucky day for Lorraine Wurtzel who had been shopping there so the ring must have slipped out of her finger without her being aware of it. That ring had been bought for her on her 20th wedding anniversary in the eighties by her late husband so it was very special to her.

The ring had a 4.6 carat diamond in it so imagine the woman’s joy when after searching in all the stores she had been to, she found it here at BJ’s.

Wedding Ring Forgotten In Glove Compartment Returned

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

In Portland, a woman and her husband went looking for a new car and finally found the one they wanted. When they traded in their old one for the new one at the auto dealer, little did she realise that her wedding ring was stashed away in the glove compartment of the old car.

It all began when a stone went missing from her wedding ring so she took it off and kept it in the glove compartment, then forgot that it was there. Imagine her joy when they got a call from the auto dealer saying that her ring had been found. An employee found it when he was cleaning out the old car.

What the woman found amazing was the fact that the person who found it was nice enough to give it back – he could so easily have pocketed it. The great thing was, the ring was found just before the couple could celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary.

Research And The Engagement Ring

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

One of UK’s jewellers has done research among 100 couples and this is what the trend seems to be. It was found that many women were not entirely satisfied with their engagement rings. A little over 60% of the women were absolutely satisfied but the rest had cause to grumble.

Here’s what they seemed to be dissatisfied about. They would have liked their engagement rings to have been designed in white gold, they wished their diamond engagement rings cost somewhere between £500 and £1000 and in fact, there were some who wished that it would cost over £2000.

The diamond is still by far the most popular stone of choice though some young women also indicated a preference for sapphires or even amethysts.

So when a man chooses a diamond engagement ring with which to propose to the woman of his dreams, maybe he needs to get a bit practical and find out what she likes by way of the gold to use or any other metal, the size of the stone as well as the price range. A bit of a practical and sensible approach could mean a happy woman for the rest of their married life.

Will She Get Her Engagement Ring Back In Time?

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

It all began on a romantic Alaskan cruise. Kevin proposed to Linda and her engagement ring was designed in Canada. The couple is getting married in a couple of days but there’s one cloud on their happy horizon.

A few days ago, Linda was out when she realised that her hand felt cold and she reached out to touch her finger only to find her engagement ring had gone. Her ring was slightly loose but she didn’t think it could fall off – well, it did, and she couldn’t be more devastated.

So what Linda has done is to talk to the police and the press in the hope that whoever found it will be touched enough to return the ring before the wedding. Like all engaged couples and even married ones, the engagement ring comes with so much sentiment attached, losing it can cause so much grief!
