When Eric’s unique white gold wedding ring slipped off when he had his first surfing lesson at Doheny Beach in the US, he thought the ring was lost forever but his wife decide to put an ad on Craigslist anyway. They had very little hope of finding the ring however. The wedding ring had an inscription inside which read Love U long time.It was a good thing she did because a retired US marine and a 74 year old at that, saw the ad and decided to go looking for it. At the same time, a lady who was there with her family found the ring in between some rocks and while she was wondering how to find the owner, she ran into Al, the retired marine. So Al gave her Eric’s number and Billie called them. When Al called later, all he could hear was the excitement and the gratitude at having found the ring. Somehow, all the coincidences came together so that the unique wedding ring that held such sentimental value was returned to the owner.

Nothing ordinary will do for Carrie Bradshaw – that’s the character that Sarah Jessica Parker played in the hugely popular American TV series Sex and the City which was made into a film. The first movie ended with an engagement ring – Carrie got engaged with a huge diamond encrusted ring. Now, in the sequel, it just had to go a bit further when it came to bling. This one has her in a black diamond ring – all of 5 carats at that! That’s what Big her boyfriend gives her and all because he feels she is worth it.
The diamond ring was designed by Itay Malkin and apparently the film director as well as Sarah Jessica Parker looked through at least twenty designers’ rings before they decided on Malkin. They actually chose one out of two rings that Malkin had given in anonymously. This ring is set in 18 carat white gold and has eighty colourless pave diamonds surrounding the 5-carat black diamond. The good news is, there will be a limited edition replica range out soon which will be available through Malkin or in select sites online.
There is a lot of jewellery on display in this sequel and all the characters sizzle with fashionable jewellery. Why should it be otherwise when they are all fashionable women of the world? So there are plenty of diamonds flashing in the film – from diamond rings to bracelets to pendants. The film just opened and it was at the No 2 spot.

The Twilight series was such a great success and there are many, no doubt who loved the idea of an engagement ring like the one Edward Cullins gave Bella Swan in the story. Well, now they can make their dreams come true and get engaged with an engagement ring that looks exactly the same.
The author, Stephanie Meyer got together with jewellers Infinite Jewelry Co and fashioned the engagement ring as close as she could to the description of the ring in the book ‘Twilight Eclipse’ where Edward gives Bella the ring. The ring is a gold and diamond domed ring set in yellow and white gold. It is being sold for around a thousand pounds.

The wedding ring has been off Cheryl Cole’s finger for a while and now she seems to have replaced it with a flashy cocktail ring. In her recent trips to France, this gold ring was very much in evidence, even at a radio interview she gave.
The Coles have had their problems for some months now and Cheryl has not worn her wedding ring since the 23rd of February. However, she has always loved wearing jewellery so it looks like she’s finally in the mood to add some bling to her life again. She looks good wearing chunky jewellery too!

There’s a diamond Mario up for sale on eBay made of 10 carat gold and diamonds in 4 colours. The description on eBay calls it a men’s pendant though it looks good enough to be worn by both men and women. We’re wondering if this would be a good substitute for a man’s engagement ring, especially if the man is into computer games.
Coloured diamonds seem to be getting very popular – maybe it’s because you can do a lot with them design-wise. Both men and women seem to be looking at all colours when it comes to diamonds today. Time was when only the clear diamonds had great value, with the coloured ones being seen as impure and therefore inferior. That, fortunately, seems to have changed ushering in a colourful era for diamond rings.

A specialist diamond company employee was attacked as he was stepping out of his car and he was relieved of four hundred and fifty gold and diamond rings. Apparently his car had been followed by four men in a Toyota Avensis and when he alighted from his car at Park Street, one of the men came up to him, hit him and took away his holdall in which the rings were.
The attackers were said to look like East Europeans in their late twenties, wearing jeans as well as jackets and one of them had a bandana on. While the employee wasn’t really hurt, he was in a state of shock. The police have warned the public against buying any cheap rings that anyone should try to sell to them.

Maybe it’s because more people are aware today about how gold and diamonds are extracted and how much hardship and misery they very often bring to the countries that are rich in them, as well as the environmental hazards that mining for these cause. Could it be that information dissemination is so much quicker today that a lot more people are exposed to what really happens? Whatever the case may be, the trend towards ethical and eco-friendly jewellery has shown a marked increase.
There are couples today who are consciously choosing their engagement and wedding rings so they comply with environmental, ethical and human rights guidelines. So what is an environment friendly or ‘green’ ring? Instead of buying a wedding ring that means anything up to 20 tonnes of ore which goes to make it, the ring could be made of recycled gold or it could be antique gold or even a second hand ring. This would mean saving that much of mining. If the engagement ring has a diamond, you could make sure that it is an ethical diamond and not a blood diamond, which means it isn’t from a country where diamonds are used to start revolutions and massacre millions. Your jeweller will guide you in the right direction.

Daniel Craig was spotted with a gold ring on his wedding ring finger and so was his long time girlfriend, film producer Satsuki Mitchell. With both of them wearing rings that obviously looked like wedding bands, can the public be blamed for thinking they had got secretly married? Especially when sources close to them brushed it off saying that it was a private matter.
They both put in an appearance for the Artists for Peace and Justice gathering and apparently the rings were also on display during the Help Haiti appeal. They are both private people so we are guessing it will be a while before they tell, even if they are married.

Men and rose gold? It might sound a bit effeminate but fashion trends they are a-changing and a number of men are choosing rose gold as the metal of choice for their wedding rings. Rose gold has a slight pink colour and one would have thought with a colour like that, it would automatically be thought to belong to the women’s side of fashion. However, that is not the case today as men step out and claim beautiful colours and metals for their own, without having to give up their masculinity.
What is rose gold really? All gold is usually mixed with other metals, usually silver, so it is stronger because pure gold can be a bit malleable. Well, rose gold is mixed with copper as well which is what gives it the reddish-pinkish hue. Many of the designers are quick to jump onto this bandwagon and use this metal in high end watches and wedding bands. Not to say that it is an entirely new trend. Rose gold was very much in vogue in the early part of the last century. Today, it’s made a very elegant comeback indeed
