Come to think of it, it’s the best theme of all. Using the symbol of the wedding rings means a theme that can be extended right through the wedding service and reception. It’s a theme that is simple, it’s so very apt, it can easily translate into any of the decorations and it is so accepted.

Let’s start at the very beginning. The invitation cards look so good when you have the wedding rings used as symbols. It can be done in so many ways – you can emboss it, you can have it printed in dull gold or silver depending on whether your wedding rings are gold or platinum and you can have it printed right across like a watermark.

The rings themselves are best entwined. This really does evoke the wonderful feeling that a wedding brings. Once you have the entwined rings, you can do whatever you like with them. You can have a sepia effect, or a stippled effect. You can have it in black, white, silver, gold or copper. These effects are great for the print media. So your invitation cards, Thank You cards and any place cards for the reception can have these printed on them.

The symbol can very well be packed into favours too. You could have a slice of wedding cake sent around in boxes with the symbol printed or if you have decided on a particular favour like a picture frame or something else, you could include a cut-out of the symbol or a Thank you card or maybe even get it printed on the gift.

Then the flowers. You can have bouquets with the symbol. They can be fashioned out of flowers or they can be cut-outs that are placed in the middle of the flower arrangements. Inside the church, you could have cardboard cut-outs at the end of each pew with flowers. These cut-outs could be much larger at the wedding reception and could be prominently put above or on the table where the cake is placed.

It would be nice if you could personalise this symbol with your names or your initials. Then it becomes yours, just yours. Initials would probably stand out better. So design the symbol so it almost becomes a memorable logo for your wedding. If you do not have any artistic leanings, get an artistic friend to do it for you. It’s always great to look back on your wedding day and feel good about the fact that you did your best to make it memorable.
