They’re not saying anything but word is out that the lead singer from Aerosmith, Steven Tyler and Erin Brady, his girlfriend of many years are engaged. Well, so sources say because Erin is wearing a huge diamond ring on her finger and it looks like it’s happened and it is an engagement ring! And it is on her left hand ring finger – so it’s the right hand and all. They were seen together in Maui so it looks like they might have got engaged when they were on holiday.
The two met and started dating five years ago and if they do get married, it will be Steven’s third marriage. He tends to be very private about his personal life but it looks like this 38-year old will soon be his bride. They met at a rehab centre – Steven Tyler has been in and out of them. She does not seem to be very popular with his family but he feels she is the one for him.
He has been in the news lately as one of the judges of American Idol, the popular music talent show. Together with Randy Jackson and Jennifer Lopez, the show has gone back to star ratings, something that did not seem possible when Simon Cowell left the show. Steven is a great musician and he can play many instruments including the piano, harmonica and percussion but he is known for his singing and his incredible range as well as his high pitched screams.

It wasn’t the engagement proposal Jason from Pelton, County Durham was expecting. He had planned it all so well. He wanted to propose to his girlfriend, Nicola on New Year’s Eve so he went out and bought a beautiful diamond engagement ring and waited for the big day to arrive. But the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.
They went off to visit the family over Christmas and returned home the next day to find that their home had been broken into. The gold and diamond engagement ring had been stolen, even though Jason had hidden it. The receipt for the sale however, had been overlooked by the thieves and it was still there. The whole house had been ransacked and even personal things like Jason’s diary in memory of his brother had been pulled out.
So as they were sitting in the back of a police van, Jason had to tell the policemen just what had been stolen and he had to confess about the engagement ring and ruin the surprise he had so carefully planned. Now that Nicola knew, he proposed to her right there in the van and she got very emotional and accepted. So there was no engagement ring but one happy couple. Jason definitely did not want to propose inside a police van but there was nothing else he could do when the secret of the engagement ring was out. The ring still hasn’t been recovered but there have been a couple of arrests of possible suspects that have been made and the police are hoping for a breakthrough in the case.

Mike Brewer from the USA got married and then, one week later, he was sent to Afghanistan. Not such a good thing, when it was still honeymoon days but like a good soldier, he went to fight for his country. There, unfortunately, his vehicle got hit by an exploding bomb. He was lucky however and didn’t lose his life but he was hurt and he was sent back home for one surgery after another on his hands. He also won the Purple Heart award for bravery.
That was when he decided to write about it all and he did. He wrote in for a contest called ‘My Perfect Union’ and it was being held by a jewellery company. Mike’s story was simple. Whoever deserved any award and accolades was the wife back home who kept things going, both the home and the children, without complaining. He wrote that for him, it was his wife who deserved all the praise because she had been there for him through everything.
He won the prize – and it was a diamond engagement ring. Though they were already married, this was a great gift he could give his wife and he is so happy to be able to show how much she means to him with this gift. He also got a cheque as part of the prize. The chief of the jewellery company was touched and inspired when he read Mike’s story.

Early in December, Selena Gomez was seen with a diamond ring on the right, well, left hand and obviously, the world wanted to know of the young couple was engaged and whether it was a diamond engagement ring. More so because she and Justin Bieber had just gone to attend Shannon Larossi’s wedding and the costume designer is a good friend of theirs, in fact, it looks like Selena was the bridesmaid. So when Selena was seen at the airport in Mexico with a ring on, it was fuel for many days of speculation. She might be only 19 and he’s so young too but their fans still want to know if they are going to take their relationship to the next level.
In spite of all the allegations about Justin Bieber, Selena is still with him and it was very much in evidence recently when Selena’s mother had a miscarriage. Selena and Justin have been there for her and the Selena even had to cancel a gig so she could be with her mother. She had announced her mother’s pregnancy on Twitter sometime ago and this must have been a terrible blow to all of them. Selena was to have performed at a gig at Seattle – the Jingle Bell Bash – but the whole concert has been postponed now. She is also supposed to perform at the New Year’s Eve MTV bash.
Last month, Selena performed at the Belfast Europe Music Awards. She was also supposedly at the X Factor show when Justin performed at the finale but she managed to keep her presence a secret. Their vacation in Los Cabos was also very written about but according to their spokespeople, apparently they are not engaged. So one wonders why Selena had that diamond ring on her finger!

It’s a gold wedding ring and it was found in the tunnel booth at Liverpool – in the reject tray actually. The wedding band has an inscription in it – it says Until I Die. So how on earth did it get there? One can only surmise how it did because the person who lost it hasn’t come to claim it yet. Wedding rings are so sentimental for the person who wears them – at least, most of the time. So the staff at the toll booth is hoping that the ring and its owner are reunited before Christmas Day dawns.
So how could it have got there? The simplest explanation is that it must have slipped off when the person was paying the toll. In a hurry maybe, if the ring didn’t fit too well because the person had lost weight or something, it could have slipped off and fallen into the reject tray without anyone noticing. It is obviously a man’s gold wedding ring because it also has the name of a woman inscribed in it as well as a date which was obviously the date on which they were married.
The problem is, the toll payment window is on the right side while wedding rings are worn on the left – so was it really an accident or did the man just put the wedding ring into the reject tray? That gives the whole incident a different hue because then it would mean the person was angry and wanted to get rid of it. It’s all still in the area of surmising and till the man who the ring belongs to is found, one will never know what the true story is. The name of the woman inscribed on the ring and the date are not being broadcast because that would make it easy for the police to ensure that the ring is claimed by the right man.

Some pensioners from Staddiscombe had taken a trip just for the day to Dartmoor to have a Christmas lunch on the moors. They had all set out in a coach and the coach driver dropped them all back and it was then that one of the, a 91-year old, realised that her sapphire and diamond engagement ring was missing. It was of very great sentimental value to her so she was devastated.
Her sister said that she hadn’t put her gloves on properly and she took it out and put it back again on the coach on the way back from the lunch. So she felt that was the time it must have slipped out. The lady was quite upset because the diamond ring had been given to her by her husband way back in 1945. That was her first husband and since then, she has been widowed twice.
They called the coach services and asked whether the driver could look for it in the coach. So he did and he found it beneath one of the seats. Not just that, he came around to deliver the ring. The lady was so surprised and so grateful because she knew that he needn’t have returned the ring. For her, he was like some kind of an angel because he was honest enough to return the ring. She is so glad to have it back on her finger again and she keeps saying just how much of a sentimental value it has for her.

Finding an engagement ring after so many years is incredible. What is even more incredible is that the couple is still together and still very much in love with each other. They have been together for forty years now, from the time he was a nineteen year old and she was the new girl in town.
When she was pregnant, Donna once removed her diamond engagement ring and put it on the lid of the toilet tank but it slipped in and even though they removed the bowl and looked for it, they couldn’t find it. They moved out in a few years and the house has been sold and resold many times after that. The last group of people who bought it were hunters.
It was strange that while Terry, the husband and their son were working on a roof close to their old home, they saw one of the owners bring out the old toilet bowl to dump it. Terry offered to do it for them, took it to his shop where he got it cracked open with s sledgehammer. It was so amazing – the ring was there, undamaged. The couple and the family were so happy. The engagement ring was back where it belonged.

There has been so much that has gone wrong with her life and at one point, it looked like she had just lost it. But Britney Spears has bounced back and she looks content and happy with her new fiancé, Jason Trawick. And now she wears a Neil Lane diamond engagement ring on her finger. Besides the wide smile, of course.
Her ex-husband, Kevin Federline with whom there was such a messy divorce realises just how happy she is and what a good place she is in right now and he says he couldn’t be happier for her. This, in spite of the fact that she had public outbursts of rage, was in and out of rehab, shaved her head and fought him over the children’s custody. Not the same reaction that Jason Alexander, who she was married to for 55 hours, had. However, she was young, she had problems but it really does look like she has settled down and moved on from that place. And her fans and everyone who knows her are happy for her.
Jason is ten years older than her and he is her agent so he probably knows her better than anyone does. He took her out for a really romantic dinner last week and gave her the ring. It was also his birthday so it was a double celebration. The two boys seem to be very fond of him and it looks like it’s going to be third time lucky for her.

It was something out of a movie as a Polish lady in Huddersfield found herself buried alive and escaped with the help of her engagement ring. It’s a bizarre and terrifying story but happily, it has a happy ending, all thanks to a diamond engagement ring. Michelina cannot speak English very well so she had a translator tell the Leeds Crown Court what had happened to her.
She was engaged to a Polish man and they had a three-year old son. Then, he got bored with her and wanted out so, together with a friend, he plotted how to get rid of her. He first tasered her, then bound and gagged her and the two put her in a cardboard box, drove out to a wood nearby and buried her. Luckily for her, it was a shallow grave and she kept her wits about her, not pushing at the box while the mud was piled on and a branch put over it.
She remembered her engagement ring and she managed to get it off her finger and cut the tape that bound her. She then cut through the cardboard and pushed her hand through to make an opening. Once she got out, she went onto the road and hailed a passing car and got back to the town. There, she raised an alarm and now both men are in custody for attempted murder and the trial is on. The famous ring was on her right hand as obviously, the engagement is off.
