I’m A Celebrity Girl Can’t Wear Engagement Ring In Jungle

Saturday, November 19th, 2011

She’s the youngest actress in the I’m a Celebrity show and though she hasn’t really acted too much before, Jessica Jane-Clement has already made a huge impact where the show is concerned. She’s twenty-six years old and she joins the other actresses who are very much older than her in this jungle series. Obviously, she is the pretty face.

Jessica Jane-Clement is engaged to be married to Lee Stafford, the famous hairdresser but she was told that she could not wear her engagement ring in the jungle for safety and for health reasons. Whatever the reason, she has kept her ring off. However, her fiancé is very happy about her doing this role and she says that he is very supportive.

Jessica was a model and she modelled for Playboy when she was just eighteen. She was also in The Real Hustle, the BBC programme where they swindle real people walking by so they can be a bit more careful and less gullible. Her pretty face and charisma made her a hit. She was born in Sheffield and grew up there as well and besides modelling, which she still does, she has acted in a few minor roles as well as in music videos. It looks like she is all set to really up the ratings of this jungle show – nothing like a good looking actress to do just that.

Pink Diamond Rings The New Flavour

Friday, November 18th, 2011

Going by the jewellery on the red carpet, pink definitely seems to be in. So many celebrities have been seen wearing pink diamonds and it really does look like there’s a new trend. Of course, a short while ago, it was chocolate coloured diamonds and canary yellow ones but today, the direction seems to be towards pink. Who knows in the fickle world of fashion how long it will last? But while it does, everyone seems to be making the best of it and flaunting it for all the world to see.

The thing about pink diamonds is that they are rare and so, very expensive especially if you want a huge pink diamond ring to show off on your finger. As such, only the rich can afford it and that‘s why maybe they are showing it off because they know that people can only look at it and drool – not too many can afford to buy it! All over the world, pink diamonds are shattering price records and according to one jeweller, one pink diamond can cost anything up to £3 million. Of course, there are tiny ones available for something like £3500 but anything that can be flaunted is very expensive and out of reach of most people.

There’s a jewellery line from India that is launching its collection featuring pink diamonds in New York and they have kept the line quite affordable by mixing up small pink diamonds with white diamonds. Considering that pink diamonds are so rare and only less rare that the red-purple diamonds, this is a hard thing to do but they seem to have achieved it. Most of the pink diamonds come from Australia’s Argyle Mines and these will close in eight years because there will be no more pink diamonds left to mine.

Love, Luck, Losing And Finding An Engagement Ring

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

She was playing polo in the Dawn Fraser Baths in Balmain, Australia when she jumped up to save a goal and saw her precious diamond engagement ring go flying. Her heart sank because this was no ordinary swimming pool. It was Australia’s oldest swimming pool, built in the early 1880s and it is a heritage tidal salt water swimming pool so the chances of finding something as small as an engagement ring were very small.

Joanne Norman’s husband used to be a soldier in the Special Forces and he had been based in Afghanistan. He had saved right through his posting there to be able to buy her the engagement ring and her heart sank when she realised what had happened. She knew that the pool was an ocean pool and so the bottom would be full of silt and that the danger of the ring going out into the ocean during high tide was a possibility. Though they searched for quite a while, they had to give up when it began to get dark.

Then they found a diver online and that is when their luck turned. Other divers had been called in but there was no sign of the diamond engagement ring. Brad was a scuba diver and a metal detector and he turned over every bit of silt at the bottom of the pool till he found the ring. There was so much emotion when he surfaced with it. Brad owns a metal detector and though business isn’t too much, he has helped people find a number of lost articles.

Diamond Ring Treasure Hunt For Multiple Sclerosis Charity

Wednesday, November 16th, 2011

In Texas, America, a jewellery store has partnered with SCVNGR, the mobile gaming company backed by Google for a contest that couplers can enter through their mobile phones. What the contest will do is to send out riddles to all the contestants and they will have to solve it and hunt for the ring with the clues they get. The prize is a precision set diamond ring and that is something any couple will be happy to own, especially as it is valued at over £6000.

The diamond ring that is going to be the grand prize is being exhibited at the jewellers right now and all the details of how exactly the contest will be played is also available there. In order to enter the contest, each couple will have to submit their love story at a particular site and this is their entry to the contest. Once the contest begins, there will be riddles for the various challenges that will take them across the city and all the clues will come to them on their mobiles.

All who enter and watch can help with donations as all the proceeds are going to go to the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the whole contest will be supporting a worthy cause. And of course, one lucky couple will win the diamond ring which will mean a huge saving so there’s going to be a very competitive time out there when the treasure hunt starts. It’s all in the clues of course and if a couple works well together, they can get ahead in the game.

Man Digs Through Landfill For Wife’s Engagement Ring

Tuesday, November 15th, 2011

When he accidentally threw out his wife’s engagement ring into the garbage, little did Brian McGuinn from Florida, USA realise how tough things were going to get for him. However, he had to go through this extreme measure because it had been his fault that this loss occurred and it was up to him to get it back if he could to keep his wife happy.

It was an accident, actually and it all began when his wife went in to shower and handed her engagement ring to her husband, no doubt confident that he would put it someplace safe. That was not to be because when she handed him the ring, he had a garbage bag in his other hand. He had been on his way to empty the trash and that’s what he did – only he threw the ring too into the trash can by mistake. It took him a while to realise just what he had done and he was horrified but by the time that happened, the trash had been collected and it was gone. So what else could he do but to go to the landfill where the trash would have been emptied and try to find it?

Brian says that he loves his wife so much, he really couldn’t think of anything but digging through all that garbage in the landfill to try and find the ring. He knew come what may, he had to have that diamond engagement ring back on her finger. He says it was awful but he finally found it and now it is back where it belongs. Of course, his wife Anne is going to make sure he is never in charge of that ring again.

How Many Diamond Rings From This Diamond?

Monday, November 14th, 2011

In the Panna Mines in Madhya Pradesh, India, there’s a lot of excitement over their most recent find – a diamond that weighs 37.68 carats. Now we wonder just how many diamond rings will be made out of that diamond. Or will it go to make one huge diamond? No one knows yet. Diamonds this size are not that common so it is quite an exciting event to find something this large and this precious.

The diamonds from the diamond mines of Panna have been ranked behind the diamonds from the South African mines but these mines which started operating in the late sixties have had some pretty interesting finds. A few months ago, they mined a diamond that weighed 34.37 carats. And the news is that there are a lot more to be found down here. There was a break in diamond operations for a few years because the mines are very close to a tiger habitat and the tiger population is fast dwindling in India. However, for the past few years, the mines have been operating and their finds have been very good.

Diamond mining all over the world is drawing attention because of the plight of the miners so wherever the mines are situated, more and more jewellers are making sure they buy their diamonds from sources that get them from mines that operate to certain specifications and human rights guidelines. Anything to do with diamonds always makes big news and this large diamond – the biggest find in these mines so far has drawn a lot of attention.

Was Kim’s Diamond Engagement Ring Just A Publicity Stunt?

Sunday, November 13th, 2011

The world watched as Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries tied the knot. They were right there on the TV screen every step of the way right through the preparations, right through the wedding ceremony, right through the reception. It looked like a match made in heaven with the whole world watching. And then came the shocking news – they were splitting up after seventy-two days!

As news about the impending divorce flashed across the world, what everyone wanted to know was who would get the enormous diamond engagement ring worth with its 20 carat diamond. Would Kris ask for it back? Or would he be magnanimous and let her keep it? Finally the news leaked out that she was going to buy it off Kris because she loves diamonds and couldn’t bear to give it up. Now, news has filtered out that the very same ring was seen on Kim’s finger in pictures of way back 2007 when she bought the huge sparkler for herself. So was it all just a big charade? Did Kris just pick up the ring from Kim and then put it back on her finger?

There is speculation that the whole thing was set up by E! So was it just a melodrama acted out on the TV screen to satisfy the voyeuristic tendencies of millions of viewers? And what about the huge sponsorship deals that went into the wedding? Were they all fake too? Some viewers felt that the whole wedding was very staged and over-acted in parts. So maybe they are right after all. Maybe that is all it was and the divorce hopes to keep the whole piece of news very much in the public eye even today.

The Traditional Solitaire Diamond Ring Has Alternatives

Saturday, November 12th, 2011

For ever so long, it was the solitaire ring that was the most popular when it came to a diamond engagement ring. Then, of course, there was the gold wedding band where many women started preferring the eternity diamond ring. However, the solitaire diamond engagement ring didn’t undergo much of a change till recently. Today, there are diamonds with other gemstones and there are diamonds used in a hundred different ways – all of them meant to be unique and eye-catching. The times they are a-changing and having a diamond ring that everyone notices seems to be the order of the day.

Take for example, a huge diamond ring that had a ball made of pave diamonds to look like a disco ball. It was snapped up as an engagement ring and the person wearing it is no doubt happy that it looks like a very huge sparkler but doesn’t cost anything as much. There are many others who are getting rings designed so they look like huge cocktail rings but are worn everyday because they are engagement rings. And many of them cost very much less that a solitaire would cost. This could be because of the economic problems confronting many and it could be a way around to not spend so much money on the engagement ring and yet have a ring that looks great.

There was a case where someone who couldn’t afford a diamond engagement solitaire ring asked for a love knot and on that, they wanted pave diamonds so that it would have the look of a diamond ring. Then, the jeweller realised that he could make a range of rings like this to cater to this market. Suddenly, women are more open to the idea that they can look beyond a solitaire for an engagement ring. Engagement rings are getting to be more personal now and people have started designing their own rings with even messages inside.

Are Patty Griffin And Robert Plant Wearing Wedding Rings?

Friday, November 11th, 2011

There are pictures of the two singers and they both seem to be wearing what look like wedding rings in them. So are they married is the big, big question. Though there are no reports forthcoming from their publicists, the rumours are that they have been married for sometime now – whether this is true or not is anybody’s guess. The pictures were taken some time in September and it looks like the wedding rings are matching rings.

Robert Plant was the singer in the band Led Zeppelin and he has been doing a lot of touring recently. Some time ago, he toured with Patty as back-up singer. Patty is an American singer and songwriter who is also a Grammy award winner. She is known for her pop and her country music in the USA and she is known as the ‘Meadowlark of Hyde Park’. Nearly six months ago, there was speculation about whether they were dating and now there is talk about them already being married.

In the UK, Robert Plant is known for his philanthropic largesse. Together with Roger Daltrey of The Who, he has launched a cancer charity for teenagers and young adults. Pete Townsend is also a part of the venture. Thus far, teens were not focussed on when it came to cancer – well, now, this centre does and it opens up a whole new world for these young people who suffer from this condition.

Golconda Diamond Ring To Be Auctioned By Sotheby’s

Thursday, November 10th, 2011

Sotheby is going to have a couple of really newsworthy diamonds that are going to be up for sale in New York this December. The first of course, is the Light of Golconda which is a 33.03 carat diamond set in a ring. The second one is a diamond ring with a 22.17 carat intense pink diamond and they will both be exhibited from December 3rd onwards in New York.

The diamond rings will have gone on a long journey before being exhibited in New York. They would have travelled from Geneva to Los Angeles and then to Hong Kong before coming to the Big Apple. It will also be a once in a lifetime sale of a well known diamond and a pink diamond which is over 10 carats, which is very rare indeed. The Golconda diamond was mined in India and is one of the legendary transparent diamonds from the Golconda mines. It is a cushion shaped diamond which was cut by hand three or four hundred years ago. The other diamond is rare and only a couple of dozen of them with such a wonderful pink colour have ever been auctioned. Last year, a pink diamond was sold and it fetched the highest ever price for a diamond sold by Sotheby’s. Pink diamonds are usually the preserve and possession of royalty in a number of countries.

What will also be up for auction will be a number of other exclusive pieces of jewellery which include some fabulous bracelets. There will also be a 16.40 carat sapphire, a sapphire and diamond ring, a platinum diamond ring which has an oval-shaped diamond and a ruby and diamond ring with a ruby weighing over 10 carats. There will also be pieces of jewellery from famous designers including jewellery in gold. A range of men’s accessories will also be exhibited and these include cuff links, dress sets and cigarette cases and this comes from someone’s personal collection.

Will Kim Have To Pay For Her Engagement Ring?

Wednesday, November 9th, 2011

They really are providing so much fodder for the media grist. First, their high profile engagement and then the wedding. After that, the separation and now, the question of the engagement ring. Not just any old engagement ring but the huge rock that Kris Humphries got Kim Kardashian. It’s got a 20.5 carat diamond and though other women might not want a reminder of a marriage that ended so quickly, most people who know Kim say that she loves diamonds so much that she would love to keep the ring.
The thing is, there was a very, very detailed pre-nup when they got married and it includes the point that if they were to get divorced, she could buy the ring from him. There have been rumours that it was she who bought the huge diamond engagement ring because she was so particular about it being flawless and perfect. Maybe all she did was to choose it. Any which way, she gets to keep it – but she has to pay for it. That’s a lot of money to be paid but for Kim, she can well afford it. And anyway, there were a few nasty comments going around that they even got the ring at a huge discount.
The thing is, who added that clause to the pre-nup? Was it Kim or maybe it could have been Kris who insisted on it? After as all, it is a very expensive piece of jewellery and while Hugh Hefner might gift the engagement ring to his ex-fiancée, Kris doesn’t look like he would. Of course, he would never have expected his marriage to break down in such a short time. As for Kim, it looks like she is buying the ring and she seems hell-bent on collecting as many diamonds as she can.
