It feels great when you can design your own wedding ring and it’s even better when it has gold in your wedding band which has sentimental value. Bass guitarist of the band KISS, Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed-Simmons got married a few days ago. Inside his ring were two strands of gold from her father’s ring which stood for their two children. She lost her father when she was 24 and this was one way of ensuring that he was there with them at the wedding.

They have been a couple for 28 years and they finally decided to get married. Or rather, Gene Simmons finally did. Now he looks at his wedding band and he wonders just why he was so worried about it or afraid of it. The couple had the wedding rings engraved with special love messages. What everyone was stunned by was the bride’s engagement ring which was a Goel Talasazan design and with a 27-carat diamond.

They wrote the vows themselves and read it out in front of their four hundred guests. Shannon also admitted that while she waited till very close to the wedding to choose a wedding gown, she had already picked out her shoes ten years ago. The Priscilla of Boston dress and the shoes were a perfect match. Those shoes were by Rene Caovilla and she knew as soon as she saw them that they were the ones she would wear at her wedding. The wedding was a beautiful affair at a Beverly Hills hotel and though it has been a long time coming, it looks like the couple are really happy to have taken the plunge.

Seth Rogen, the 29-year old star of Knocked Up and the stand up comic from Canada who directed, assisted and lent his voice to movies is married. He and his girlfriend of many years, Lauren Miller got married in California in a wedding ceremony that was officiated over by a female Jewish rabbi. The ceremony was held on a hillside in California, in the middle of vineyards and it was attended by many of his close friends. HI friends included Paul Rudd, Craig Robinson, Leslie Mann, Judd Apatow and Jonah Hill.

The reception which was held on another part of the estate was full of laughs according to the guests. The couple went off in a convertible to the reception after the wedding ceremony and the exchange of wedding rings. After all, Seth is such a funny man – it was only fitting that laughter punctuated the wedding day. There were lots of jokes and funny one-liners and everyone was laughing and having a great time.

Seth shared with his guests how he had proposed to Lauren. He says he had the engagement ring in his hand and he just couldn’t hold onto it – he was so nervous. So he went ahead and proposed while she was changing in the closet. He says no girl probably dreamed of being proposed to from outside a closet but there it was – that’s just the way he went and did it. Lauren Miller acts, writes and directs too and they have acted together in comedy films. They have been together for seven years now and it looks like both really enjoyed their wedding day.

Will Smith’s beautiful wife doesn’t seem to be wearing a ring on her wedding ring finger fuelling rumours that all is not well in the Smith household. Both are very vociferous when it comes to denying that anything is wrong in their marriage but sources say trouble is brewing and there is someone else involved. So no matter how loudly they protest, it could be a case of protesting too much.

The person who has been mentioned is Marc Anthony. He and Jada Pinkett Smith starred together in Hawthorne and have been close friends for a long time. Is he the reason for a possible split? One isn’t sure yet. She was seen at Marc Anthony’s concert recently and apparently she was away when Will had his 43rd birthday. Does that add to up anything? Maybe in tinsel town it does.

The Smiths have been together for thirteen years and they have always projected a picture of a very happy family. So when they tell the press that their marriage is still very intact, maybe they are telling their truth. Any Hollywood marriage is under strain with long separations and always being in the public eye but hopefully behind all that, they are still very much a family unit. And let’s face it, she was caught without her wedding ring while she was at the gym. Maybe she just talks all her jewellery off when she is exercising. So many women do that, after all.

Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore still have their wedding rings on though speculation is rife as to whether they are together or not. In a very today move, their spat became apparent on Twitter. Makes you think of the many youngsters who knew they were being dumped when they read their status on social networking sites. Well, Demi chose to Unfollow her husband, obviously their millions of followers sat up and took notice. A sad picture of her with the words ‘I see through you’ didn’t help. She has around four million followers and he has almost eight million. So when two people who are so active on Twitter tweet about their marital problems, everyone listens and passes on the gossip.

Apparently, the couple who both belong to the Kabballah religion have been getting religious counselling. At a recent meeting, they came separately but left together. Yes, their wedding rings were on so it looks like they are trying to work through this together. Of course, many say this was bound to happen. He is 33 and she is 48 and no matter how much they seemed in love, maybe everyone knew the time would come when temptation drove him towards younger women.

So what was the cause of the split that seems to have happened? Apparently it occurred during their sixth wedding anniversary when she had to go to the East Coast and he partied a bit too hard at a hotel in San Diego. A 24-year old woman identified as Leal is the one at the heart of the scandal and it looks like she wants to sell her story of what happened that night to the highest bidder. Will his people buy her off and will he try and fix things in the marriage? From the looks of it, they are both trying though sources say she is very hurt and that they are living apart. For many, it’s only a matter of time before the wedding rings come off.

Tiffany’s is probably the world’s best known engagement ring designers and their classic solitaire diamond ring is still the most popular design for an engagement ring. It has almost tripled its value in the past two years but it is also coming to the end of a twenty year partnership with Swatch. This termination comes sixteen years ahead of time and it leaves Tiffany’s open to a takeover bid.

Tiffany’s is a very special brand when it comes to engagement rings and diamond rings as well as a lot of other jewellery and it will mean that anyone who wants to take it over will have to pay quite a bit considering the brand value the company has. Some experts say that it could well command a 40% premium if it wanted. Considering that revenue could well go up 30% over the next couple of years, there is sure to be an interest from many buyers to try and affect a takeover. This is in the light of the company setting up many more stores in the emerging markets of Asia. In fact, the names doing the rounds are Louis Vuitton and Moet Hennessey among others.

The break up with Swatch seems to have cleared the decks for a takeover. The two companies haven’t really been doing too well together. Swatch was supposed to sell Tiffany watches but it didn’t quite work out that way and both said the other was detrimental for their own business. Tiffany’s sales in other areas have surged ahead, way beyond expectations, especially with the introduction of new lines like yellow diamond jewellery. In spite of the recession, Tiffany’s value has gone up and up and any company looking to invest in it should come up with a winner.

So it is official – Liz Hurley and Shane Warne are engaged and she’s got a huge sapphire and diamond ring on her finger. It looks like the royal wedding has inspired many to choose sapphires and diamonds for their engagement rings. One wouldn’t have known for sure if both hadn’t tweeted their thanks to all their well wishers who congratulated them. However, both refused to comment when they were seen at the Dunhill tournament.

They have been dating for ten months now and Liz had no idea that Shane was going to pop the question. They posed for photographs at the Dunhill affair but even though they didn’t answer any questions, about the engagement, the engagement ring was very visible and the look on their faces couldn’t hide their happiness. Apparently Shane Warne proposed the previous evening when they were at dinner and it was done in the presence of a number of people at the exclusive Road Hole Restaurant. Everyone clapped when they realised what had happened. However, sources say he proposed but did not go down on his knees. It’s been a long time coming and everyone has been expecting it. Their affair has been very public – they are both very visible people and the media pays them a lot of attention. So naturally their engagement has been one of the most talked about events of the day.

Time was when Nick Berry was a household word and wherever he went, people recognised him either from Heartbeat or East Enders. Then he got married to the Levi’s Jeans model, Rachel, became a father and gave up his screen career, choosing instead to become a stay at home father. Apparently he did think of going back to the world of TV once his children became teenagers but he seems to have settled into his life very well and isn’t really looking to change it.

As Nick says, he got a bit tired of fame and his beach house at Hove seems to be where he is happy, away from the madding crowd. He has been married for seventeen years and he seems to love spending hours in the sun in his garden, especially his vegetable patch. For him, he found his soul mate in Rachel and he wouldn’t change things for the world.
