Of Wedding Rings And Metal Detectors

Wednesday, August 31st, 2011

Considering the number of wedding rings and engagement rings that are lost in the garden or out on the beach, you would think that people would either be a bit more careful about their rings in places like these – like taking them off – or have found a way by now of retrieving these lost rings without wasting too much of time. There are a few smart ones who have realised that what you need immediately is a metal detector in order to find it before it gets blown or kicked away someplace.
This lady who was gardening put her wedding ring and engagement ring into her underclothes for safe keeping. Then she saw her little daughter run off towards the neighbour’s garden so she ran after her. It was only later that she realised that her wedding ring had fallen out while her engagement ring had not. She was devastated – besides the sentimental value, this was no ordinary ring – her husband had designed it himself and proposed to her. They looked all over well into the night but could find no trace of it.
Then someone advised them to rent one of those metal detectors and they quickly searched on Google and found someone close by. It took him only twenty minutes to find the wedding ring, buried in the grass in a spot that they had all looked through so many times. There are so many metal detector services and it helps to find one and call them over as soon as possible if you lose a ring in the mud or the sand. If anyone can find it, they can.

Wedding Rings And Things Left Behind

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011

Hotel employees say that when people check out of their rooms they leave the oddest things behind and there are strange stories that emerge when it comes to hotel check outs and leave-behinds. Whether it is by accident or design, the people who work in many hotels are very amused and sometimes shocked at what people tend to leave behind when they check out.
Leaving junk behind is understandable – shoes or sandals that are old, socks with holes in them, clothes that are torn or ripped, chocolate wrappers, empty wafer packs, etc. However when staff find wedding rings lying around, then that is a whole different story. Leaving a wedding ring could just be forgetfulness or it could have a ring of finality about it and it could have been left behind in anger. There was one case where a couple had left their wedding rings behind after their honeymoon. There was also an instance when a diamond necklace was found in the drain and the owner had obviously flushed it down. Apparently, their twin daughters had passed away recently and the necklace had two diamonds which had been set to represent them.
There have been other strange cases as well. There was a case where a man’s Ferrari keys were left behind but when the staff ran to return them to him, he and his Ferrari were gone. One wonders how many duplicate keys he carried around with him! There was also someone who had obviously gone fishing and caught a shark which he had kept in the hotel room’s bathtub in Portugal – little realising that sharks don’t survive in tap water. So he left it behind much to the shock of the maid who came in to clean the room after he left. A hotel employee found a prosthetic limb too and wondered how on earth the person left the room without it.

Please Return My Wedding Ring

Monday, August 29th, 2011

What can you do when you are getting on in years and thieves break in and steal the valuables in your house? That is what happened to Nina Anzalone who is seventy and lives alone. She is in a state of shock and has had to be admitted to the Furness General Hospital. Unfortunately, while she was there, the riots in the country took place and she is sad to see that places that she thought were safe are now seeing so much of looting and robbery.
She feels what must have happened is that she returned from a day trip, was tired and must have left her keys still in the keyhole. She went to bed at half past ten and woke up the next morning to find quite a few things missing. Among them was her wedding ring from her first marriage – her husband died in a tragic accident just five weeks after they were married. Also taken were a present from her daughter - a watch - and her jewellery boxes. They also seem to have made off with a bottle of whisky that she had won in a raffle and was kept in the kitchen.
As her keys to the house were also missing, the police felt that the thieves would try and get into the house again and they have made her change her locks. She has lived here in this house for around ten years and she is really upset that something like this could happen. She is very sorry to have lost items of sentimental value and she has appealed to the thieves to please give them back to her. We do hope they hear and respond.

Friends, Lovers And A Huge Engagement Ring

Sunday, August 28th, 2011

Jack Wagner and Heather Locklear have been friends for the longest time and then they started dating. They’ve worked together too in the TV series Melrose Place and they are both so comfortable with each other, besides looking good together. Did they both like each other a little more than just friends, we wonder – but whatever the way things were, they are now engaged to be married.
While we don’t really have a close-up of her engagement ring, it is huge and it looks like it is a really massive solitaire diamond. It appears that Heather was just as shocked and surprised at the size of the diamond as everyone else. No doubt we’ll get to know just how much it weighs and who designed the ring but the main thing is, they are engaged and they are together.
It hasn’t been easy for Heather, especially the way her marriage broke up when Richie Sambora was discovered to be having an affair with her close friend Denise Richards. They have a thirteen year old daughter who recently was awarded a part in a comedy film. Heather is nearly fifty but she still looks as young and beautiful as ever. She is acting in The Assistants right now and filming is on. Richard is now acting in the TV serial The Bold and the Beautiful.

Are Diamonds And Diamond Rings A Good Investment?

Saturday, August 27th, 2011

When people think of diamonds – women, especially, they see the dazzle and the romance that the gem has become imbued with over the years. However, investments in diamonds seem to be growing and becoming a highly profitable area. This thought is being reinforced in many places by diamond investment firms with mailers and email pitches.
So what drives this belief? For one, diamonds have grown at an average of 15% over the last forty years which is quite impressive. And this year, in the first half, the value of rough diamonds went up by around 30%. What they believe is that in the next year, it will go up by around 25%. This seems to be good prediction because people all over the world are fast losing confidence in currency – as can be seen by the phenomenal rise in the price of gold. This, coupled with a huge rise in demand from emerging economies like India and China has given diamond investments a fillip like never before. In fact, one-fifth of the demand for diamonds come from just these two countries and given the huge combined population as well as rising disposable incomes, it looks like the demand can only get bigger.
When compared with gold, diamonds are so much rarer and their value can only go up. Also, the fact that weight for weight, the value of a diamond weighing 5 g is the same value as a hundred kilos of gold makes it that much easier to store and transport. With diamonds running out and diamond mines yielding less and less, people far prefer to invest their money in this rare gem than in paper money and bonds which may soon be worthless.

How Soon Before Liz Hurley And Shane Warne Exchange Wedding Rings?

Friday, August 26th, 2011

Friends and informed sources now feel that it is no longer an ‘if’ but ‘when’ for the couple Liz Hurley and Shane Warne. This high profile couple’s romance has been fodder for so many news articles but it now looks like they are going to walk down that aisle together – and soon, by the looks of it. The news of the possibility of the two getting married soon was broken by The Daily Star.
So when is it going to be? And where did the proposal take place? Apparently, Shane Warne proposed in front of friends while the two were on a Spanish cruise. The two of them had joined the cruise for a few days to spend time with friends and that was when he proposed. Speculation is rife that the wedding will take place this year and that it will be in Australia. However, a spokesperson for Warne dismissed this as just rumours. However, Liz due to go to Australia in November so obviously everyone is going to be watching and waiting.
Liz Hurley’s divorce came through just a couple of months ago and Shane Warne too has been through a messy divorce and a lot of gossip. However, they both seem to have put their pasts behind them and are looking forward to a future together. They both know what it is to be in the public eye and maybe both have got accustomed to dealing with the more unsavoury side of the media looking over their shoulders at everything they do. Maybe now the question will be: just what kind of an engagement ring will he give her? And will the wedding rings be something to write home about too? When you are in the news as much as these two are, everything has to be larger than life.

Wedding Ring Cruises Become Popular

Thursday, August 25th, 2011

There are a number of cruise liners now that are offering a whole host of cruises that are tailored to meet clients’ needs. Among them is the Wedding Ring Cruises where the cruise liner takes care of everything – the ceremony, the theme, the party and a few days of partying or honeymooning after that if you want it. All you need to do is nod your head to what you want, make a few suggestions of your own and then leave it to them once you’ve paid. No hassles, no headaches, no planning and the assurance that you will be leaving the planning to people who are experts at what they do.
It’s such a fantastic fit actually because cruises and romance are synonymous in most people’s minds – so why not take the shipboard romance to be for the rest of your life? And it’s way more than just a ceremony where you exchange wedding rings. Most cruises offer luxury wedding feasts and stays so it means that you can make your wedding different and extra special. Not to mention that out-of-this-world feeling that makes cruises special. Makes one wonder if this is a great idea for an engagement as well? What better way to propose to the girl you want to marry than under the stars with every conceivable luxury on hand?
Most of these luxury liners offer other tours as well – religious tours, cultural tours, tours for the disabled, tours for extended family get togethers, etc. Some of the companies offer heritage tours to many countries and they make the special effort of getting to know local customs and being mindful of them. They even contribute top charities in some of the countries they have cruises to. So they combine luxurious travel with responsibility and charity. A great way to begin married life!

Bride Hopes For Wedding Ring Of Late Husband

Wednesday, August 24th, 2011

It was a tragic honeymoon. Ian and Gemma had gone to the Seychelles to enjoy the sun, sand of surf of this paradise after they got married in Dalston at St. Michael’s Church. He was a 30 year old software developer and she is 27 and a teacher – they were both looking forward to a life together, beginning with this wonderful holiday. Till a killer shark attacked him while he was swimming in the clear, blue sea. Gemma is heartbroken , so are his friends and family and she now wants his wedding ring so she will have something to remember him.

So where can the wedding ring be? Men with harpoons are trying to locate the shark so they can see if they find it inside it. The trouble is, while this is a holidayer’s paradise, there have been incidents of shark trouble recently and the country hasn’t really done anything about it. Considering there are so many tourists that flock to its sandy shores, maybe they should have. Very close to the spot where Ian was attacked, there was another tragedy a few days earlier when a French tourist lost his life. So it would appear that there is a killer rogue whale out there.
It’s a terrible thing to happen to someone on their honeymoon and everyone’s trying to help to try and find the wedding ring – it may be small consolation but at least she will have a token to remember their love. Unfortunately, the local authorities have been in denial and have been making excuses for attacks – now it looks like they have to take things seriously. If they had done so earlier, this sad incident might not have happened.

It Pays To Engrave Details On Your Wedding Ring

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011

A man got his stolen wedding ring back after thirteen years simply because he had been smart enough to have details engraved into his ring. Even if you have a message engraved on it, it helps otherwise, one wedding ring can look pretty much like most others. If your wedding ring gets stolen, it helps to give the police exactly what message was engraved and if there were any other details on the ring.
It happened in 1988 in New South Wales, Australia when thieves broke in and burgled a man’s house and many valuables, including his wedding ring, were stolen. His wedding ring had the engraving ‘Eternally Yours’ on the inside and when he was making his complaint at the police station, they recorded this fact. Then, a few months ago, a driver of a truck saw something on the road and realised that it was a wedding ring and when he saw the engraving, he knew it was something special and handed it over to the police. The police then made their checks and traced the owner from the records. The wife picked up the ring and she gave it to him on their 13th anniversary which came up shortly after that, as a surprise gift.
Whether it is just a message or a unique message or even better, the date of the wedding as well or maybe the initials of the couple or the husband or wife, it pays to make your wedding ring unique and different so that it could be easy to trace in a sea of wedding rings that are lost but look the same. In some cases, the purity of the gold as well as the name of the design house is stamped in and in some cases, there are serial numbers on the ring. It is also important to photograph all your jewellery so in the event of loss or theft, you have proof of what belongs to you. It could just make the difference of losing your wedding ring for good or having it come back to you.

Kim And Kris Exchange Lorraine Schwatrz Wedding Rings

Monday, August 22nd, 2011

After the huge media blitz that followed her engagement, Kim Kardashian is finally married to Kris Humphries and the wedding ceremony which had over four hundred guests with many celebrities is being called the wedding of the year in America. Maybe reality stars are larger that life – whatever the reason, Kim’s life is usually under a microscope and the Kardashian sisters play to the gallery and live life king size. Like her engagement ring of 20.5 carats which is well over £1 million. It has an over 16 carat diamond and is flanked by two trapezoid diamonds and all the diamonds are of the best possible quality. Like the wedding rings, the engagement ring too was designed by Lorraine Schwartz.
The wedding was held in California and it was on a private estate. Kim wore a Vera Wang white wedding dress in Chantilly lace and her shoes were from Guiseppe Zanotti. She was given away by her step father and her sisters were maids of honour while her nephew was the ring bearer. Kris was in an Ermenegildo Zenga tuxedo.
Of course, the big question on everyone’s lips is, exactly how much money is the couple making from this wedding? There are the TV payments, the freebies and the photos sales. From what sources say, the gown, the cake and maybe even the rings were donated or sold at a discount to the couple. They were even paid to hold their bachelor and bachelorette parties. More money is expected at a supposed second wedding ceremony in ten days’ time. When you are as visible as these stars, sponsors just pay for every event in their life – and if that means a lack of privacy, neither Kim not Kris is complaining!

Move over Barbie – the latest dolls to hit the stores are Princess William and Kate dolls which feature the exact clothes worn at their wedding. In fact, the dolls replicate the real thing so well – the Kate doll even has an engagement ring and a wedding ring. The details are so perfect and the dolls are made to look like the royal couple on their wedding day with as much detail as possible.
