The fact that his previous fiancée left him for a young, good looking man does not seem to really have bothered the Playboy tycoon and in his eighties, here he is again with another blonde on his arm. He has officially declared that she is his girlfriend. People who know him well, however, feel that it’s taken him longer than usual to replace one blonde with another but he’s over eighty years old so what do a few days matter?

The new interest is Shera Bechard and she is also the new Playmate of 2011. She is twenty-seven years old and Hefner announced their relationship on Twitter. It was a tweet that told the world that Crystal had broken off her engagement to him too. However, he was very generous with Crystal even though the rumours were very strong that she had left him for a younger man and a good looking one to boot. He allowed her to keep both the engagement ring and the Bentley he gave her but took back the dog he gave her as a gift. Maybe Hefner is used to it as most of his other girlfriends left him for younger men too.

Shera, his new Playmate as well as his new girlfriend acted in the movie Sweet Karma and she plays the part of a mute Russian girl who is young and shy and somehow gets trapped in a mafia set-up. The movie is based in Toronto, Canada. Will Shera be wearing an engagement ring soon? It’s anybody’s guess but knowing Hefner’s style, she probably will and maybe a wedding ring soon after.

She was at the New York airport with a friend when photographers managed to take pictures of her wedding ring and according to them, it’s a huge rock that she’s got on her finger. Now is that her wedding ring or is it her engagement ring that they caught sight of? According to US Magazine, it was her wedding ring that she was showing off as she and her friend and her friend’s daughter were boarding a flight out of New York.

Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz met last year when they began working together in the film Dream House. They are both busy with their own films at the moment with Rachel having filmed The Whistleblower which is to be released shortly and Daniel working on the next Bond film. They are both very private people which is why they had such a private wedding ceremony without the usual flamboyance that is normally associated with Hollywood weddings.

Some have it third time lucky and it looks like that is what is in store for Ashley Cole and Cheryl. Though they divorced last year in September, it looks like all the signs are there for everyone to see that they are not over each other and would like to be a part of each other’s lives again. The footballer has been plagued with rumours about his affairs and Cheryl took it not once but twice before she left to go to America as an X Factor USA judge. However, that does not seem to have worked out and she’s back in the UK.

Sources say that Ashley now wants to woo her back with a diamond ring that can be seen all the way from the moon. Guess the bigger the rock, the better his chances that she will have him back. Though it did not seem like he would have too much trouble in that direction as Cheryl was more than willing to spend her birthday with him recently and they were photographed getting really cosy at the Sanderson Hotel with each other. So will this be third time lucky for the couple or will it be the last and final chance for him? Her friends all know that she wants a family and Ashley knows that she won’t have that without getting married.

The Girls Aloud star took a break from public life after she was sacked from the X Factor show and she chooses not to publicly air her views about it. Apparently, Ashley was a strong support during those troubled days. There was an offer from X Factor for her to go back, provided she helped the show’s ratings. However, it now looks like she is negotiating with a reality singing show at BBC.

Ever since gay marriages were declared legal in New York, there’s been a mad scramble for wedding rings as more and more same sex couples are rushing to make their union legal. The State legalised it on the 24th of last month, much to the delight of gays living there. There was a huge Gay Parade which was held along 5th Avenue from Midtown to Christopher’s Street.

One of the people who was ecstatic was Neil Patrick Harris, TV actor who has been waiting for years to get married to his partner, David Burtka. They apparently have been wearing engagement rings for years but now there’s hope that they can be legally married. They have twins, a girl and a boy who were born of a surrogate mother. Neil has been tweeting his joy ever since there was a possibility of the bill being passed. Neil acts in very popular TV serials like How I met your mother and was the young doctor in Doogie Howser, a serial about a young genius who becomes a doctor at sixteen.

This approval has really been great for the jewellery industry with people rushing to buy engagement rings and wedding rings. There seems to be celebration in the air and people openly acknowledge their relationships now. Event planners and bakeries too, have their hands full with all the celebrations. It’s been a long time coming and America has been rather slow thanks to its very conservative underbelly that sees homosexuality as a sin rather than as something that is natural and that people are born with. It looks like the times they are a-changing, though very slowly indeed. Considering that many third-world countries accept it, it seems a bit old world for there to be so much debate about whether or not to legalise these unions. There are still a number of American states that do not recognise it.

Are they planning on getting married? If they are, then it’s probably because their children want them to get married. As Brad said, it seems to be meaning a lot to them and they keep asking them to do so and in their kids’ best interests, they feel that they should look at the possibility. He was talking to USA Weekend recently and that’s when the likelihood of wedding rings was mentioned.

Right now, it seems to just be a cute distraction but maybe very soon, marriages will be conducted by machine ministers, without any of the usual fuss and preparation that a traditional marriage involves.

All you need to do is to enter your status – and it has provisions for straight, gay and even a best friends option. You go through your vows with the machine, press a button to signify saying ‘I will’ and it even gives you a pair of plastic wedding rings and a marriage certificate. You also get a 10% discount in case of divorce! Now if that isn’t being farsighted and practical, what is?

So Kate Moss and Jamie Hince are finally married and apparently it is a three day wedding affair with themed parties. She wore an ivory coloured dress and he was in a pale grey suit. The parties are being held outside her home in the Cotswolds – actually more of a mansion – and there are a number of superstars in attendance. It’s quite a change in the usual rhythm of this quiet English countryside which isn’t used to these kinds of weddings. The parties are said to be still going on.

However, there are a number of village residents who are said to be unhappy with things as the many roads have been closed and there are policemen crawling all over the place. Apparently, the area was declared a no-fly zone as well. There were many though, who were thrilled to have so many celebrities in their area. From Jude Law and Sadie Frost to Naomi Campbell and Stella McCartney and Mick Jones.

Just recently, Kate was in the news at the Glastonbury Festival because she thought she had lost her engagement ring. She made her friends and everyone around go through the whole muddy floor where the festival was held. The diamond ring is valued at £14,000 so no wonder she was upset and her wedding was coming up. However, when she went to the loo, very upset at not having found it, she found it wrapped in a tissue in her bag. Her friends were obviously not amused!

The Prince of Monaco slipped a wedding ring onto her finger, instantly making her a princess. It’s the stuff fairy tales are made of and Monaco is used to it. It was here in this millionaires’ playground that the present Prince’s father married Grace Kelly and what a wonderful princess she turned out to be. And now, it’s the turn of Charlene, former Olympic swimmer from South Africa to enter into royalty and all the trappings around it.

Everyone was invited to the wedding reception yesterday – it was a civil ceremony and today is the religious ceremony which everyone can watch at home as it is to be televised. However, the people of Monaco seem to be thinking that it’s time he got on with it so they can have an heir to the throne. After all, he is fifty-three and he’s kept them waiting for a long time. And all those rumours of affairs and illegitimate children just didn’t help. Many of them miss his father who they loved and they feel that the Prince and his siblings have been tarnishing Monaco’s image for a while. However, this marriage will hopefully put him back on the right track with them.

Charlene Wittstock is from Zimbabwe, South Africa, the country she represented in the 2000 Olympics and she’s thirty-two. The couple has been together for four years and Monaco hopes the legitimate heirs will soon follow. Maybe it isn’t easy being in the public eye the way the Prince has but this wedding seems to put hope into every subject’s heart. Especially as they have had seven centuries of royalty and they want to continue the line.

Frank Lampard and Christine Bleakley got engaged last month and they went off with the family to Majorca recently to soak in some of that Mediterranean sun. According to Christine, the proposal was very personal and private and not at all fancy but as we can see, the diamond ring with that huge rock obviously is. Frank is thought to have spent £120,000 on it. After lunch on the beach, apparently he got down on one knee and popped the question which of course, made her cry.

The Daybreak star seemed to be enjoying herself on this holiday with Frank’s kids and his father – maybe it was bonding time for all of them. He has two children, four and five years old and Christine seems to get on very well with them. The couple were together for two years before they got engaged. However, they don’t seem to have set a date yet for the wedding. It is the general opinion that the wedding will be held in Ireland where she is from.

Meanwhile, rumours abound that Christine Bleakley and her co-host could be shifted from the Daybreak show to another show. It looks like Daybreak is going to be re-launched with two newscasters who are said to be very senior. Would the new show be a challenge to BBC Breakfast? One has to wait and see.
