Is That A Ring On Jennifer Aniston’s Finger?

Saturday, June 11th, 2011

With so many Hollywood actors getting married, sources say that maybe Jennifer Aniston has joined the bandwagon too. Somehow, every time Jennifer finds a new guy, everyone is waiting with anticipation, wondering if wedding bells are going to ring. The popular actress is someone everyone loves and maybe the whole Brad Pitt thing has many people feeling sorry for someone as nice as her.

Jennifer’s new boyfriend is Justin Theroux and she was spotted wearing a ring on the ring finger so obviously, no one can be faulted for thinking and hoping that it is an engagement ring. Though both of them met a while ago on the sets of Wanderlust, it is only recently that news leaked out that they were a couple. Maybe they were having a secret relationship all this time. Justin Theroux has acted a lot both on the small screen and the big screen. He is also a screen writer and he wrote the screen play for Iron Man 2, on the recommendation of Robert Downey Jr.

The ring, according to many who have seen it, does not look like a regular engagement ring. It is all gold, square in shape and some even call it gaudy. Would Jennifer mind? Maybe not. She’s so nice and no doubt even if is not a very nice looking engagement ring, everyone’s hoping the news is true and that she will be very happy.

American Idol Star Gives Twilight Star An Engagement Ring

Friday, June 10th, 2011

At the recent MTV Awards show, Nikki Reed was spotted wearing a diamond ring and sources say that she is engaged. She met Paul MacDonald, the American Idol star at the premiere of Red Riding Hood and they started dating. It’s just been a few months but the couple is obviously very serious about each other. It’s been quite a whirlwind romance and the couple looked great together.

Apparently, they have been shopping for diamond rings for a month now and Paul proposed in March which must have been right after they met. Nikki is 23 and Paul is 26 and Paul says he hopes to write songs inspired by his fiancée. He’s a songwriter as well as a singer and he was one of the top 8 in this season’s American Idol.

Nikki has been acting for a while now – she started when she was quite young and her most famous part is the role she plays in the Twilight series as Rosalie. Though she is not a natural blonde, she does a great job in the movies. The Twilight series has really thrown all the actors into centre stage as they have been such a success after the books on which they are based.

Lady Finds Old Wedding Ring On Beach

Thursday, June 9th, 2011

In Maine in the US, a lady was walking along the beach when she suddenly found an old wedding ring. It was a gold wedding band and inside it, there was an inscription that said CCD to MAL Dec 25 1880. So of course, Carrie, who found the ring, just had to satisfy her curiosity and try and discover just who the ring had belonged to.

So she asked her mother who was a town clerk to try and do so and they did manage to trace a Charles C Dixon who got married to Miranda A Lewis in May 1881. So why was the date different? Or was it not these people at all? Still, the initials matched so well. If there was another couple, why wasn’t their marriage listed in the town records? So many questions and Carrie was so anxious to find out.

She then suddenly realised that it was not a wedding band but probably an engagement ring because in those days, most engagement rings were made of solid gold. So the man could have proposed with a ring on Christmas Day and then got married the following May. Of course, it might just be another couple altogether and the ring could have been something off a shipwreck. Carrie feels the fun is in the imagining – there are so many possibilities when you find a ring like this. So she is wearing it on her finger right now and if someone who is a descendant of this couple comes to claim it, she will hand it over to them.

Wedding Rings And Students’ Science Experiments Take A Trip Into Space

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011

It was quite an adventure. The space craft was unmanned and all it did was a fifteen minute journey and back but it carried stuff like wedding rings and then, at the edge of space, everything that was packed in canisters was sent back to earth through parachutes.

This happened in May and the things were packed in canisters for that ride. There were all kinds of things that were there – from wedding rings and cremated remains of a loved one to green chilli from New Mexico and of course, science experiments done by students. This was sponsored by NASA and it helped students from New Mexico, Arizona and Texas to participate in this experiment. It was built during an Innovation Program run in the summer and the 20-foot rocket flight was a great success.
The experiments spanned a wide range – from measuring radiation levels to the action of space on yeast to sound waves in a vacuum and what kind of effect space had on electrical components.

The flight was called the Goddard Flight after the American space explorer who did many of his experiments in New Mexico. Many had sent the remains of their loved ones which were returned to them after a flight into space. Also on board were wedding rings and these rings are going to be sold online as space wedding rings. If you buy the ring, you will get a certificate stating that the ring was on that flight.

Fire-fighters In Canada Save Wedding Rings And Wedding Photos

Tuesday, June 7th, 2011

Lighting set their home on fire and it was only when the lady of the house woke up with the thunder that she realised that there was a fire at the back of their house. She woke her husband up and when he went out the back, he realised that the heat from the fire was so intense, everything was too hot to touch. So they quickly picked up their fifteen month old baby and got out, then called 911, the fire department.

The firemen were there in a few minutes and they just got down to putting out the fire even though there was lightning still ripping across the sky. As quickly as they could, they made sure they put out the fire and the couple was very impressed at the speed and efficiency with which they worked.

Not just that, the firemen retrieved a lot of the couple’s possessions. They got their wedding rings and their wedding photos out and they also got the man’s hockey sticks out. The house was badly burned and if it hadn’t been for the firemen, they would have lost everything. The couple is also grateful to the neighbours for all their help and for giving them food and clothing.

Wedding Rings Go Geeky

Monday, June 6th, 2011

Geeks just have to be different so when it comes to wedding rings, too, though some prefer to stay traditional, there is a growing number of young geeks out there who want that stamp of geekiness on yet another tradition. So they look for new ideas on how to do them and how to make sure they and the world around them know that their wedding ring comes from geekland. All over the world, geeks seem to be coming out of the background and making it fashionable to be a geek.

In Japan, there was a recent incident of geeky wedding rings when the couple happened to be photographers. They went to a designer friend and asked him to make something special for them and he did. He fashioned the wedding rings to look like camera parts. Not just any camera but the Leica 50mm Summilux. The parts that he used as inspiration were the ones on the lens. The man had a wedding ring that looked like the focus ring and the woman had one that resembled the aperture ring.

Like that wasn’t enough, he went on to make a model of the Leica camera as a ring holder. While the man’s wedding ring goes over the lens, the woman’s goes on top of it. It looks like it really is the dawn of the geek generation and geek fashion today seems to be making a mark all over the world. Wedding rings might be one of the last bastions to succumb but it looks like the change has begun.

Tiffany’s Give Expert Online Advice On Engagement Rings And Romance

Sunday, June 5th, 2011

Tiffany’s, the leading jeweller known for their diamond engagement rings have now set up a website to help romance around the world take the right steps. After all, they do have 175 years of experience – of watching couples come into their stores and choose rings that will keep them together, hopefully forever. For so many years, if it was an engagement ring, it had to be Tiffany’s and even the classic solitaire diamond ring that is the most preferred ring is their design.

So what is this website like? It’s called whatmakeslovetrue.com and it has four sections. The first is a collection of love stories and real life incidents that are woven around Tiffany pieces of jewellery, usually an engagement ring. The second section is all about tips for romance and it gives a person a lot of advice on how to go about making a romance work and making love last. It goes further and even talks about family, its importance and how to manage money so that it does not become a cause of friction in the relationship. The third section is about the store – so much a part of New York and the last is a section where readers can write in about anything connected to these themes.

Tiffany’s, as we said, is such a part of the Big Apple and it even inspired the Audrey Hepburn film, Breakfast At Tiffany’s. Now, this old, traditional jewellery store is changing too and getting savvy online, though they still hold on to their history and traditions of the years.

An Engagement Ring, A Wedding Ring And Fire-Fighters

Saturday, June 4th, 2011

What on earth would an engagement or a wedding ring have to do with fire-fighters, one wonders. However, a woman whose finger had swollen up a lot needed their help and these were the people they called. Or rather, the hospital people called them to come help out.

This is how it all began. A woman in Woolwich found that her finger was very swollen and she needed to get her rings off as it was getting very tight and uncomfortable. So she and her husband went to the Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital in Woolwich in order to have the engagement ring and the wedding ring removed. The staff tried everything but they just could not get the rings off. The accident and the emergency wing of the hospital really did try their best before calling 999, the fire department.

The fire-fighter crew got there and in fifteen minutes, they had sorted it out. This was thanks to specialised cutting equipment that they have and this helped them get the rings off quickly. A new experience no doubt for the fire-fighters in that area but we’re sure they must have been very happy to put an end to the discomfort the woman was suffering from.

Tornado Takes Away An Engagement Ring

Friday, June 3rd, 2011

After the tornado which hit the US recently, there are many stories surfacing of people who have lost so many things that were precious to them. Take this 84-year old man for example. The day after the tornado, he had a metal detector with him and he was looking through the wreck that his home had become. There were many volunteers there, helping people rescue their personal belongings, like documents, photos and jewellery. When they noticed the old man, they wanted to know how they could help him.

He said that he was looking for his wife’s engagement ring as well as his coin collection and his set of keys. He said the ring was a diamond ring with four diamonds in it. His wife has got hurt when the tornado hit and she was in hospital but though he was a bit disoriented, he had come out to look for the things that were precious to them.

Obviously, many of the volunteers joined forces and helped him. They found quite a bit of his coin collection and the also found a box with rings in it. The man who had helped find it visited the old couple in hospital but the ring wasn’t theirs. Though it had four diamonds, it was set in a curve, not in a straight line. So they feel that the box must have blown in because of the tornado and the box is still there, waiting to be claimed. The old lady’s engagement ring must be somewhere down there in the rubble, still waiting to be found.

Has Marvin Given Rochelle An Engagement Ring?

Thursday, June 2nd, 2011

Rochelle Wiseman and Marvin Humes love to keep us guessing – who was it who named them Marvelle? So when there was this diamond ring on Rochelle’s finger at the JLS premiere, obviously people jumped to the conclusion that maybe the couple was engaged and it really was an engagement ring. After all, she had the ring on in the right hand and the right finger!

And don’t tell us that Rochelle did not know the gossip that she was going to start – she made sure that everyone saw the ring. It wasn’t just on the street – it was in London, at the Soho and the event was huge – the premiere of Eyes Wide Open – the new 3-D movie from JLS. Rochelle had on a dress by Hervé Léger and it looked good on her – very figure-hugging. And then, of course, there was the ring. Some felt it was too small to have been an engagement ring – after all, most stars have rocks that they can hardly carry around these days. But, everyone is still speculating.

The couple, had in a recent interview, confirmed that they were back together again and living in the same house and Marvin said that Rochelle was cooking for him. And that he sometimes made dessert – like a fruit salad. They were also seen looking gorgeous at the Water for Elephants premiere. What a couple they make! And of course, if that really is an engagement ring, it might break a few fans’ hearts – but everyone has to admit they look amazingly good together!

Two Engagement Rings Stolen From Irish Solicitor’s Fiancée

Wednesday, June 1st, 2011

Most people have heard of Gerald Kean – this solicitor is so high profile and he represents so many high profile people. His fiancée was attacked by thieves recently and she is still in a state of shock. The thieves threatened her and took her engagement ring and made her give them her jewellery in the safe, including an engagement ring from her previous fiancée. Two engagement rings? Now that is really something!

Lisa Murphy was walking into their home in Wicklow – she had just turned off the alarm – when a gang of thieves pounced on her and took her into the house and tied her up very tight. They then proceeded to take everything out of the safe after they had divested her of her jewellery which included the diamond engagement ring Gerald had given her. They also asked her where her 10-carat ring given to her from her ex-fiancé was so they obviously knew what she had. She said that the gang members were young – maybe 20s and 30s and that they had rather rough country accents.

Gerald is naturally very concerned because it was at their doorstep and because of the trauma that Lisa was subjected to. It was only when he got home that he heard her scream as he entered the house. He came back to the house in a hurry because he couldn’t get through to her and he was worried. It’s not easy going through something like this and losing your precious jewellery. The police have asked anyone who knows anything to come forward and help them.
