When it comes to the stars, everything is done on such a grand scale and Jude Law is no exception. Everyone is waiting to hear that the pair who has such a history behind them is getting married. It will after all, be the proverbial happily ever after story – the romance, the relationship, the problems and then the re-uniting.

Well, the gift was, to say the least, grand. Inside the grand piano that Jude presented her with was a little box and it was made of the same wood as the piano. Inside this box nestled a sparkling beauty – a sapphire and diamond ring. It really looks like after the royal ring, sapphires and diamonds are the new fashion wave in rings!

Most people say that this incredibly beautiful gift could just be a trigger for them to set the date soon and many of their friends are looking forward to getting a message one of these days asking them to keep a particular day free for the occasion. They’ve both been in the public eye and they’ve both worked through their problems and realised that they really were meant to be together.

Casey Stoner surprised his wife with a diamond ring and the 22-year old baby faced motorbike racer guy did it to replace the much cheaper engagement ring he bought Adriana, his wife, when he proposed. He just wanted to get her a piece of bling that was more expensive than the modest one he had got her earlier. He went to Max Langley and ordered the diamond ring a little before Christmas and though he first looked at another ring, he came back to order a classic design.

The diamond engagement ring is worth £25,000 and the design looks like a Bulgari design. It looks like it is a round diamond set in platinum and his wife was so thrilled by the unexpected gift. What a great Christmas gift to receive! He also got her little nephew a cycle.

Stoner is very shy and he doesn’t talk to the media so a lot of exactly what the ring looks like is guesswork. The couple met when Adriana asked him to autograph her stomach seven years ago and they fell in love and got married in 2005. Stoner has been racing from the time he was four and his next big race is in Qatar in March.

Are Britney Spears and Jason Trawick, her former agent, married? If pictures put on a social networking site are to be believed, maybe they are. There is this one picture that is up where Britney is posing with Santa and her sister and her ring finger shows she is wearing a ring. She’s smiling and looking really happy in the picture.

She tweeted a Christmas message to all her fans and it looks like she and Jason are back together in that seesaw relationship. Rumours have it that they have been together for a year and a half and that’s a long time in Britney’s life so if they have taken their relationship to the wedded status, it looks great.

Add to that the fact that they spent Christmas with Britney’s family after having visited Jason’s family and you can see how cosy it all looks and that the ring could well be a wedding ring. Of course, there have also been rumours of abuse where Jason is concerned but Britney calls them lies and denies that he abused her.

Who ever said 84 was too old to get married – and especially to someone in her twenties, wasn’t thinking of Playboy baron Hugh Hefner. He proposed to 24-year old Crystal Harris and one of his Christmas gifts to her was an engagement ring. This is her first marriage and Hugh Hefner’s third. He has grown-up children from his first two marriages – well, two of them are in their fifties!

Hugh Hefner has always made news wherever he goes. Of course, when he was young, it was a different story. He got married to his girlfriend from school and they were together for ten years. After that, it’s been the bunnies who have attracted his attention enough to get married to. He married one in 1989 and now, it’s Crystal, also a Playmate.

In between, he has dated others but he was adamant that he did not want to get married again. This time seems to be different though. He’s given Crystal a 3-carat diamond engagement ring set in a platinum band studded with diamond and apparently she went with Hugh Hefner’s secretary to pick the ring. The diamond might seem small when compared with that of other millionaire celebrities but Crystal seems happy and the wedding is scheduled for this summer.

A bride-to-be from Carlisle is so upset because her engagement ring is missing. She’s looked all over and is really despondent that she cannot find it. She feels that it probably slipped off her finger when she took her dogs for a walk. It was very cold and she probably did not feel it slipping off because her hands were so numb.

Kate lives on Milbourne Street and she has since retraced her steps so many times, looking for the ring with her fiancé. It looks like 2011 is going to be a great year for royal weddings. Zara Phillips and her Mike Tindall got engaged last month when after seven years of being together, he proposed to her with a platinum and diamond ring. Yes, she showed off her engagement ring to the media but it was very apparent that the engagement was sudden and they did pose for some pictures together – though not in the usual planned way.

Mike is a rugby player and the couple live away from the madding crowd in Gloucestershire and it looks like they will time their wedding with Prince William’s and Kate’s. Zara makes a lot of money as a brand sponsor and her name is linked with some of the biggest and most lucrative brands. However, they have their expenses with huge stables and a home they have just done up so who can blame them if they make some money on publicity deals? After all, they will only be giving the public and the media what they want.

In the international competition that looked for the world’s best couple, the winners are a New Zealander and his wife who is US-born. The competition was open to people from the US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. There were thousands of couples who entered – after all, who wouldn’t want to get a million dollar diamond ring on their finger?

The diamond ring was designed by Michael Hill Jewellers and it was they who thought of this global competition. After all, they said, they have been in this business of romance and love for so many years so why not give away something while creating a buzz around it? So they had Kim Kardashian wear the ring and travel around the world with it, promoting the competition. The ring has a princess cut 22-carat diamond and the competition designers hoped that whoever won it would treasure it and that it would be a symbol of a lasting love.

The competition involved a series of online tests and the couples also had supporters voting for them. In the end, Cameron and Shariyah Morris were the winners and they are thrilled. The final judging was done by a panel and on that panel was the Sex and the City author as well - Candace Bushnell. There were six couples that figured in the final and this winning couple are so thankful for the incredible online support that they got.
