The Australian model and actress wears a huge chandelier engagement ring but she doesn’t flaunt it. Is it because she is shy? The cameras are finding it really hard to get a good shot of the ring simply because she takes such good care to hide it. At a time when celebrities flaunt their engagement rings to the hilt, especially when they happen to be huge rocks, this seems so different.

Sophie is engaged to Jimmy Esebag who happens to be the Chairman of the Licensing Holding Group in America – and this is the company that holds the rights to the famous Playboy brand. He is in his mid-fifties while she is 31 and she feels he is the soul mate she has always been waiting for. Sophie has been linked romantically with many famous men including American Idol Ryan Seacrest but last year was a time of heartbreak for her when she discovered Jason, her then boyfriend in bed with someone else.

The engagement ring was designed by one of Jimmy’s jeweller friends but Sophie was spotted out looking like the girl next door, not showing it off and in a sweater and jeans. She is in the radio show called Bardot and she finishes her stint this week. So are they planning on wedding rings soon? One doesn’t really know as both are being tight-lipped about it.

Goldcrest Jewellers in Dorset, run by Donna and Neil Strudwick has been officially short listed to make the wedding rings for Prince William and Kate Middleton. They are ecstatic and can’t wait to find out if they will be the chosen ones. However, just the fact that they are being considered is a big honour for them and Neil says that to have made it thus far is ‘jaw-dropping’!

The husband and wife team received a letter from the office of the Prince to tell them the news. They had applied for being the ones to make the rings but they didn’t really think things would move so quickly in their favour. All the applications had been sifted through and the ones that were short listed had been sent to the Lord Chamberlain’s office.

If they do get it, they feel it will be such an honour and they hope that they will be the fortunate ones to make those wedding rings for that very special wedding in April. In all his twenty years as a goldsmith, Neil says nothing this big has ever come his way. They are so excited, the whole thing has yet to sink in.

The American singer and songwriter Jason Mraz is engaged to vocalist Tristan Prettyman and if sources are to be believed, they will not be exchanging wedding rings soon. The couple feels that they should not get married till there is marriage equality for everyone and that, one feels, is a pretty tall order. Very much like the beauty contestants who always look for world peace.

The ‘I’m Yours’ singer is waiting for a lot of things to happen and get righted in this world – things like gay rights, for example. Actually she didn’t put up a picture of her diamond engagement ring, he did. It was a knockout ring but you had to look past the tattoo-covered hand. Lily Allen tweeted about her engagement ring too – or rather, she showed it off on Twitter. So did Monica, the R & B singer who got engaged to Shannon Brown, the Lakers player.

When Kate Hudson’s marriage fell apart, there were so many who couldn’t believe what they were hearing. It had seemed such a perfect marriage and they both seemed a lot in love. However, it went the way of most Hollywood marriages and they both moved on.

However, now she is expecting a baby with her current boyfriend Matt Bellamy and sources say she is three months pregnant. So the obvious question is, will she marry him? Can we expect to see a wedding ring on her finger any time soon? The 31-year old actress does not seem to be in a rush to do anything of that sort though it looks like she is more than happy to present her son Ryder with a little brother or sister.

The diamond engagement ring has a diamond that looks like it is 4 carats or more and it is set in platinum. The strange thing is, Jesse has gone to the same jeweller where he got Sandra’s wedding ring. This engagement ring has a diamond in the centre with diamonds that are smaller around it and it has a filigree design with a dome shape and some very good scroll work on it. Not quite a ring for a tattoo artist like Kat, one would think.

Sandra’s ring was also an archival ring from Neil Lane’s collection and it was a Tiffany ring from 1910. It has a design of intertwining diamonds and one can’t but help that it was rather crass of Jesse to do this. Is Neil Lane the only jeweller in Hollywood or was Jesse just trying to make a point?

There’s a diamond ring with a unique design and estimated to be worth thousands of pounds that has been found in Derby. The police recovered it and now they are looking for its owner. It’s quite possible that the ring could have been lost but then again, it could have been stolen. So it will mean that they will have to check any reports of stolen diamond rings in which the description matches this unique ring.

The diamond ring is set in white gold and it has five beautifully matched diamonds. The value that they have put on the ring is somewhere in the region of £5000. Anyone who has lost a diamond ring with such a distinctive design as this must have been devastated and there must surely have been police complaints. The thing is, it could just have been lost or stolen anywhere in the country or maybe even outside.

The police are doing everything they can to try and locate the owner and no doubt the owner will have to prove that the ring belongs to her. So one wonders – is it just a diamond ring or could it be an engagement ring? Was it made for some special occasion? If sop, it must have such incredible sentimental value and the owner would no doubt be very thrilled to get it back.

There’s a wedding contest that has been announced in Maine in the US and the winner will get it all – wedding rings, wedding dress and the wedding expenses and the total costs that they will be covering will be a little over £60,000. The wedding will be held in Freeport in Maine at the Harraseeket Inn.

The contest is open to all contestants till the middle of March and the wedding will be sponsored in October. All a couple who wants to enter the contest will have to do is to make a two-minute video about themselves and their love and upload that video to the Real Maine Weddings website online. The online magazine will then look at all the videos and decide which they feel should be the winner.

The contest is being held basically to promote more weddings in Freeport and to sell it as a wedding destination. The wedding rings will be donated by a Freeport jewellery store, Brown Goldsmiths and all the wedding planning and execution will be done by the Freeport company, Sweetest Things Weddings. There’s a group in Freeport that works hard to promote the place to the rest of America and the world as a tourist destination and this whole idea of making it a wedding destination, they feel, could trigger off an interest in the city.
