Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie - called Brangelina when they are referred to as a couple – are known to be extremely generous and the latest recipient of this generosity is Mindy Cohn from the ‘Facts of Life’. The 44-year old agreed to be godmother to two out of the couple’s six children and it is said they were so happy that they gave her a diamond ring as a gift.
Mindy Cohn starred in the sitcom comedy the Facts of Life in the 1980s and she is very close to Brad Pitt as well as to Angelina’s brother. The couple is very fond of her and rumours are that they even pay for her air tickets so she can come visit them wherever they are.
The diamond ring is supposed to be around four to five carats and it is set in white gold as a solitaire with diamonds all around it. The diamond ring which is eye-popping to say the least was the couple’s way of saying Thank You to her for becoming their children’s godmother. Mindy wears it on her right hand and people she works with have said that it is an unbelievable ring.

It looks like Nicole is planning a girls only party before she wears that wedding ring and everyone’s wondering just how many of her girlfriends will be there. Plenty, we’re sure though whether Paris Hilton or Lindsay Logan will be there is anyone’s guess. Like them, Nicole has been in the news for far too long for all the wrong reasons. The star of The Simple Life, like her co-star Paris Hilton, Nicole too has been pulled u[p for drinking and drugs but all that seems to be in the past now.
Nicole and Joel Madden have been together for a while now and they have two children together. They plan to get married in December this year. Both are very into charity and have together started a foundation that gives to children. Madden is a rock star and Nicole too is has made a foray into the world of music. She has also penned two novels, one of which is expected to be released soon.
The rumour is that the wedding will be held at her father, Lionel Ritchie’s place and Nicole has been seen shopping for wedding dresses. With December just around the corner, there’s obviously a lot of preparing to do.

The American Idol runner up, Crystal Bowersox was seen flaunting her engagement ring and it looks like she and her new boyfriend, Brian Walker want to take their relationship to the next level. Crystal was always a strong contender for the top winning post right from the very beginning and she was Simon Cowell’s favourite to win. However, she lost out in the final round.

However, he is from a small town like Crystal and that posed problems once she did so well in the last American Idol season.
Crystal admits that she is a small town girl too but she wants everything the big city has to offer – especially as this is where she can showcase her incredible talent. Trey Turner, an American musician took his girlfriend up to Brooklyn Bridge to propose. While she wasn’t looking, he took out the diamond ring he had bought and before he could even say anything, he dropped the ring through the slats. He didn’t hear the ring hit the water but heard a clinking sound so he assumed that it must be stuck in some construction below. So they got engaged without an engagement ring and they got each other’s initials tattooed on their fingers.
They if course reported the loss of the diamond ring to the Department of Transportation but didn’t have much hope of finding it. Trey had to go off on tour with is band and his fiancée Kelsey was just getting ready to go visit her sister in Washington when she got a call saying the ring had been found. A construction worker had found it and a lady from the department called to tell her about it. She was overjoyed and the ring went on to her finger at once and she has told Trey he can take it off and put it back on again. It looks like she isn’t taking any chances.
Trey is with a band called The Icarus Account and he was thrilled to get the news that the ring has been found. He says anyone can tease him for being stupid – he’s so happy. They are getting married soon and one hopes they will be a bit more careful with the wedding rings.

It’s a story that’s tragic and so touching. Mark and Karen were to get married as soon as she came back from her assignment in Afghanistan but that was not to be. That was because she was killed there a few days before they were to get married. She and her team were travelling toward the Afghan capital when they were ambushed and killed.
Karen had trained to be a dancer but at 21, she realised her true calling and proceeded to join up to be a doctor. She was only helping medically in Afghanistan so it was so hard to bear when the news of her murder was known. It wasn’t clear exactly why they were ambushed and killed but that was what happened and it left Mark, an army man devastated.
So he still wears the wedding ring he had got her around his neck on a string. For him, it’s one way to keep the memory of Karen close. They had met in Afghanistan where love blossomed and he knew very soon that she was the one he wanted to marry. They had decided to get married in the UK when she came home for her break, but it was not to be.

He is the America’s Got Talent winner, the musician from Mississippi who wowed the hearts of the audience and everyone listening in to the show. Michael Grimm was the undisputed start of the show’s Season Five and little wonder he ended up winning the one million dollar prize followed by the winning tour.
Two days after he had won the show, he appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and it was on this show that it happened. Right there, in the middle of the show, he took out a diamond ring and asked his girlfriend to marry him – she was so stunned. However, she was so happy to wear the engagement ring as she shed tears and said Yes to him.
So was he the only one in the know and was it a surprise to everyone there? Apparently not. It transpires that Michael had told Ellen about it just before the show began. He also told her how he would like to help his grandparents rebuild their home which was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. The show ended with a great song that he did with Jewel.

A former MP of Dewsbury, Shahid Malik, used taxpayer money to pay for a diamond engagement ring insurance. He stated that the insurance amount was for his home when actually, it was for the diamond ring. It was only when he was found out that he agreed to repay the money to the Commons and make good the matter.
However, others believe that this should not be enough. He has tried to hoodwink the public and has misrepresented facts to the people and the least he can do is to apologise profusely to the Parliament. He might just have gotten away with it if a watchdog had not discovered this breach of form.
The ex-MP feels that now that he has repaid the amount, it should really be enough and commented that the matter was really so trivial. However, he feels that it took its toll when it came to elections. One wonders by what standards this kind of misappropriation of public funds can be termed as trivial or not.

He might not like the press and the way he’s followed around by the press after he got married to Megan Fox but Brian Austin Green loves one thing – his wedding ring. Having married the sexy ‘Transformer’ actress, he is so very happy and cannot help talking about her and praising her.
Brian became famous with his role in 90210, the TV serial and now he is all set to act in Desperate Housewives, the popular American serial after ten years on 91210. But he seems to be a rather quiet guy who likes to live his life outside the media’s public glare and he admits that he is no gregarious person. He keeps himself fit however with his strenuous workout schedule.
He waxes eloquent when it comes to Megan however and his 8-year old son though he does everything he can to stay away from the press. He knows that with Megan as his wife, he will be followed around but he still cannot get used to it.

Princess Diana’s brother, the Earl of Spencer has decided to call off his engagement to Lady Bianca Eliot, much to the relief of his friends and family who feel that it could have been a rather tempestuous union. Just last month, he had travelled to meet his children to tell them about his whirlwind romance and engagement. He and Lady Bianca have known each other for about two years.
While she still wears her emerald and diamond engagement ring – she was seen with it at a charity ball recently and while he denied that the engagement was off, official sources say there will be no wedding though they will remain good friends. She however just said that there had been no actual wedding date that had been set when she was asked by the reporters.
It would have been a wedding of two very high profile royal families. He has six children from his two previous marriages and Lady Bianca has three. There has been a lot that both sides have had to deal with and according to people close to them, maybe this was hardly a recipe for a successful marriage. Both have had colourful pasts and both have been in the public eye for a long time.

The Pipers Inn in Somerset is probably the only inn where a bored Princess scratched her name on the window pane with her diamond ring. Princess Isabella of Spain was once at this inn and there was a delay changing her horses so while she was impatiently waiting, she tried to relieve her boredom by etching her name on a glass pane.
The inn was famous in the 18th and 19th centuries and it was a coaching inn where people waited while their horses were being rested or changed. There have been famous people who have stopped at this inn and have recorded that they have. One of them was William Wordsworth and he stayed on to attend a celebratory meal.
One wonders how the inn got its name – whether it was from some old Scottish past, However, the general consensus is that maybe it was named for the smoking rooms where gentlemen retired to smoke their pipes while they waited. Its claim to fame is also the fact that there are no other inns in the UK that are called by the same name. The Pipers Inn stands unique in its name and in its atmosphere from an old, bygone age of horses and carriages, of royalty, princesses and gentlemen.

In a town called Evansville in the US, there was a lot of excitement over a treasure hunt or scavenger hunt as they call it. It happened last Sunday and the prize was an ₤8000 Hearts on Fire diamond ring. Little wonder couples started lining up well before the 11 am deadline for the hunt to begin.
All the teams had to do was to register and to write out their love story. They then had to find the diamond in a very hi-tech digital scavenger hunt. The hunt was created and run by a professional company while the diamond was provided by Kruckemeyer and Cohn. There were hundreds of couples that took part which only goes to show just how much everyone wants a large diamond – whether it’s receiving it from the man you love or giving it to the woman you want to spend the rest of your life with.
The lucky winners were Valerie and Ryan – and of course, he proposed to her with that wonderful diamond ring and could she do anything else other than say Yes? They’re engaged and yes, she gets to wear that superb Hearts on Fire engagement ring!
