Expensive Engagement Ring Falls Into Cape Cod
There he was, all set to propose when nature disposed of his plans. He had the over £5500 diamond engagement ring in his hand and he was feeling so romantic and pleased with himself considering he had set this up to be different and special. He had planned to slip the ring onto his girlfriend’s finger on the jetty in South Yarmouth in the US. He attached the ring to a sand dollar and when the girlfriend hopefully found it, she would see the ring too and he could propose.
Trust women to change the best laid plans. She did find the sand dollar but she was so excited seeing the ring that she dropped the sand dollar and the ring into the water. So even though they tried searching, the surf claimed the engagement ring as well as his carefully laid plan.
They were lucky that the ring was insured but we wonder how many more men have planned things so well and lost their rings. It might be so much better if they just hid a note saying ‘Will you marry me?’ in such places and take out the ring from their pockets when the girl said ‘Yes’.
