Man Pays For Thinking Diamond Ring A Fake
It happened in China – it actually did. A lady named Wang lost her diamond wedding ring at a parking lot. This happened in the Fengtai district in China. Zhang found the ring but threw it away thinking that it must be a fake ring. Little did he know just how much that simple action was going to cost him.
The owner of the ring obviously looked for the ring and couldn’t find it and when she heard that Zhang had found her ring and had thrown it away, she went to court. According to the Beijing News, just that careless and unknowing action cost Zhang 46,000 yuan and he had to pay up to keep the diamond wedding ring owner happy.
The thing is, he did it out of ignorance. So many real diamonds look like imitations and if you are not well read up on gems, it is easy enough to make a mistake. So if he thought that it was a fake, why should he have kept it? Wasn’t it rather unjust that he had to pay just because his knowledge of diamonds and jewellery was lacking?
