Def Leppard’s Lead Guitarist Wears Wedding Ring

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Yes, Phil Collen has been seen around with a wedding ring and he’s married to Helen Simmons, costume designer. The couple reportedly tied the knot last Friday. The lead guitarist’s band mates from the popular band were there too for the wedding which was held in Florida at the Palm Beach hotel, the Ritz Carlton.

The news is that the couple had a very eco friendly wedding, with the wedding invites that were sent out being paperless and the wedding food served being vegan as well as organic. Though they say that they didn’t really plan for a wedding like these, since they are both committed to turning the world green, the wedding arrangements too flowed naturally from what they strongly believed in. The wedding ceremony was held on the beach as the sun was setting and the wedding rings were designed by Phil himself along with jeweller Krikawa.

This wedding took place barely nine days after Phil’s second divorce from Anita Thomas and he says that he has been waiting for this to happen. There were sayings from the Dalai Lama that were read out as well as a song by Mary Angelou sung.

Facebook Makes For A Free Wedding In Wales, Including Diamond Wedding Rings

Monday, July 19th, 2010

The couple got engaged fourteen years ago but three children later, they still had no money to have the big bash that the lady in question wanted. Till their friends on Facebook decided to take a hand and put up their wish. That’s when everything changed and now they are planning to get married in December with a wedding ceremony that is something out of a fairytale.

First off, they have got diamond encrusted wedding rings free. They also have a beautiful Georgian manor to hold the wedding in and even more, a fabulous limo to ferry them around. They’ve got the whole works from total strangers who have come up to make this wonderful dream into a reality.

Emma and Shaun are over the moon especially as Emma had entered a radio competition which was giving away prizes and she was so upset when she came in second and didn’t win the first prize of an all-expenses paid wedding. That was when friends decided to go the Facebook route and it paid off. They have got donations from all over, including local business houses and on that day, white doves will be released when they get married. Who says the world doesn’t care?

Tiffany Engagement Ring Rescued By Diver

Sunday, July 18th, 2010

It was a rescue operation at its best. Who would have thought that a tiny little ring could be found at the bottom of the lake? But it was and here’s the story of how it happened.

A teacher from Minneapolis, USA had just got engaged last month and she and her fiancé were at this lake boating. All she did was to put on some sunscreen and she just slipped the ring off while she did it so she could keep the oiliness away from the ring. To keep it very safe, so she thought, she held the ring in her mouth but it just slipped and fell out – into the water and all the way down to the bottom of the lake. Everyone jumped in and tried to find it but the water just got very muddy and their search was in vain.

So they had to get help and they succeeded in getting expert help – an experienced diver from the neighbourhood who has been treasure-hunting in lakes for years. For three whole days, he scoured the lake bed with a metal detector and he finally found it, buried three inches in sand right at the bottom. What wonderful news for the young couple – they were so thrilled, they gave him a good reward. Sara, the girl, says she’s never taking it ff her finger ever again.

Now Wedding Rings Go Geeky

Saturday, July 17th, 2010

There’s a Microsoft game developer who is very happy with his new bride and this is because though she isn’t one, she loves the fact that he is a geek. The wedding ring was custom-made in gold and it was fashioned to look just like a USB drive, However, it is not a functional one – though no doubt there will be ones that work very soon too. Imagine geeks all over being married with an actual, working USB drive so they can carry everything they want around with them all the time – as long as they stay married at least.

This wedding ring was inscribed with the classic USB promise – For a lifetime of memories. That line refers to the huge storage that a USB can have and it seems so perfect as a wish for a marriage too. Apparently the groom, Ray Arifianto is absolutely over the moon with his geeky ring and considering just how geeky his job is, this is such a relevant ring.

This wedding ring is just one in a list of geeky items around modern day weddings around the world. There have been geeky wedding invitations, geeky wedding cakes, geeky engagement and wedding rings and not to forget geeky wedding proposals. Is the traditional wedding undergoing change in order to keep up with the times? Maybe it is, if we look at a bridegroom who changed his Facebook status while he was at the altar, soon after the wedding. Cybertech seems to be making headway into traditional institutions as well.

Wedding Ring Of 90s Found

Friday, July 16th, 2010

Near Ithaca, America, a man was doing some renovation work in his basement when he found this wedding ring. It was behind some shelves in the bathroom and he was pulling them out to redo the place when there he saw it, gleaming. He was busy working so he put it on the top of the fridge and it stayed there a couple of days till he remembered it and took a look at it. It was then he realised that it was a gold wedding ring and not a cheap trinket as he had thought.

He looked closely at the ring and he found that it had an inscription on it which read ‘Andy loves Laurie’. There was also a date in 1992 below the words. So he wondered how he could find the owner and even posted it up on Facebook hoping someone would remember who had lived there and come forward. Thus far, no one has come to claim the ring but the present owner of the house hopes that they will.

The only little doubt in his mind is the fact that it was way behind the shelves so he wonders if perhaps the ring could have been angrily thrown. Then, will the person who lost it want it back at all? Meanwhile with the help of friends and ads, he continues to post news about the ring having been found.

Former American Idol Star And Hockey Player Wear Wedding Rings

Monday, July 12th, 2010

Carrie Underwood, famous American country singer and Canadian hockey player Mike Fisher have got married and apparently it was a private affair at the Ritz-Carlton, Georgia. They had booked up the whole hotel and there were 250 close family and friends who were present. Reports say that it was a touching ceremony with both pledging their love for each other. The ceremony is supposed to have included Bible readings and classical music.

The bride wore white – a lacy affair by Monique Lhuillier who also designed the bridesmaids’ dresses which were said to be frilly, girlish affairs. There were five or six bridesmaids, all decked out in the French designer’s creations. There were no reporters and there was such tight security that not even an adventurous mouse could enter. Only People magazine will be allowed the privilege of the first pictures which they have bought the rights to. Carrie flew into the hotel in a helicopter and the staff there as well as at the airport was very tightlipped about the event.

So Carrie has become Mrs. Fisher, though professionally she will still retain her old name. The couple has left for an undisclosed destination and they say that’s Mike’s surprise to his new bride. It was only after that the hotel was opened out to other guests and no amount of cajoling by reporters could get anything out of the staff as to how the wedding had gone off.

Megan Fox Flaunting Her Wedding Ring

Sunday, July 11th, 2010

Considering that she has been saying that marriage almost never lasts and is hardly ever for keeps, Megan Fox seems to be very proud of the fact that she is married and she takes every opportunity she can to show off her wedding ring. Never mind that they had a quiet wedding as both she and her husband Brian Austin Green wanted it that way. The sexy star of The Transformers got married in a quiet ceremony last month.
The stunning ring was seen as she was leaving a Hollywood studio after an audition. She was dressed very casually but her ring attracted all eyes – it dazzled so much. She’s young, she’s sexy and she’s one of Hollywood’s most wanted stars today. Her fan following is legion and she must have broken a number of hearts when she got married.
According to reports, she had on an Armani gown for the wedding with a train that was over sixteen feet. It looks like she loves being married and she says herself that she is more in love with Brian than ever.

Bachelorette Star To Give Back Engagement Ring

Saturday, July 10th, 2010

Jillian Harris just has to return that wonderful Neil Lane ring that she got on the show and no, she doesn’t quite like to do it, but who would? Well, she would have got to keep the ring if she had gone ahead with her engagement to Ed Swiderski but the news is that they’ve split and so back goes the ring to the sponsors. The two were engaged for a year and a month but the rules are that they have to stay engaged for two whole years if they want to keep the ring.
The engagement ring which was a Neil Lane designer ring has a pear shaped diamond weighing 2.6 carats at the centre and this diamond is surrounded by six baguette diamonds and accented with ninety four round cut diamonds. So once again, it becomes the property of ABC which sponsors this reality show.
Ed Swiderski is a technology consultant from Chicago and apparently he went down on one knee and proposed to Jillian with the ring. However, the reports say that the two have had their differences and Jillian is moving out and going to be with her parents. Unfortunately, this is one more failure for the reality show which has had just two successful engagements in twenty shows.
