Megan Fox’s New Engagement Ring

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

Remember all that brouhaha about the engagement ring that Megan Fox lost on a beach in Hawaii? The ring that she lost a little after Brain Austin Green proposed to her? No, they didn’t find it by some wonderful stroke of luck but some girls sure are lucky. Megan now has another engagement ring to replace it and it is a stunning platinum ring with a radiant cut diamond in the centre.

Megan and Brian are now married and Megan proudly wears both rings on her finger. The wedding ring is also a platinum ring and it is an eternity ring with diamonds. Together, they are both very dazzling rings and Megan was looking dazzling too when she put in an appearance for an awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

Megan and Brian have been engaged before – in 2006. They were engaged for three years and then decided to go their separate ways. However, this year, they got back together and decided to get married so off they went to Hawaii, where of course the crazy engagement ring episode occurred. They then got married and the only one there was Brian’s son.

New Feature On Site For Engagement Ring

Friday, July 30th, 2010

Blue Nile jewellers of the USA, leaders in online diamond jewellery have launched a Recently Purchased feature for engagement rings where people who log on can see over a thousand three hundred designs that have been customised. It also gives people looking at the site the opportunity to see the characteristics of the diamond or diamonds that have been used as well as all the other features like the price, the setting, the carat, etc.

This is one of the most comprehensive engagement ring databases there is online. It also makes buying an engagement ring, especially a diamond engagement ring so much easier and more transparent. What people can see on this site is just how different a setting or the carat weight can impact the look of the diamond. For example, how different will a 2 carat diamond look from a 1 carat one?

This feature on the site is dynamic and keeps changing all the time. The items that are featured here are all unique, made by their jewellers who are master craftsmen. The database keeps evolving and growing and there are so many designs you can look at and alter depending on what you want and how much you are going to pay for it.

Winning A Ritani Diamond Ring In A Scavenger Hunt

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

In the city of Roanoke, America, a jewellery store named Fink’s Jewellers has set up a scavenger hunt for Saturday. Participants should be couples and the lucky couple gets to take home a diamond ring – not just any diamond ring but a Ritani diamond ring. Ritani is a leading designer of diamond jewellery in the USA.

This is how the hunt is being organised. The couples have to rush around town and finally find the diamond ring. The town is going to resemble a huge board game and the hunt is going to be interactive with couples being allowed to use their cell phones. The challenges will be texted to their cell phones and they have to follow them till one couple finds the ring.

The diamond ring is valued at nearly £10,000 and it’s going to be one very lucky couple who is going to win it. The criteria for participation are that only couples can enter and they should have submitted their love story when they register.

Elvis’s Huge Opal And Diamond Ring To Be Auctioned

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

There are a number of the singer’s possessions that are soon going to go under the hammer. There’s his address book, his convertible car, his gold-rimmed spectacles, his piano and his famous opal and diamond ring. The ring is expected to bring in around £20,000. Also going to be auctioned is his target pistol.

The opal and diamond ring – and the opal in the centre is huge – is still in a pristine condition. Elvis gave it to Ginger, his fiancée in the mid-seventies. The opal is an Australian fire opal and the whole ring looks like it were made for royalty with its ornate design. Well, the man was called the King so maybe the ring was made to celebrate that. The opal is half an inch and around it is set sixteen dazzling diamonds. The opal glows with a variety of colours – from green to yellow to red and it really does look like a fire is burning inside.

Elvis loved opals and even had then sewn onto his famous sequinned jackets. Maybe he felt it was one stone that reflected the way he was – moody at times, on fire at others. He had it made for his little finger and his giving it to Ginger showed just how much he cared for her. Also to be sold is his piano which he played on and composed his tunes. He had it painted white with a gold trim. The piano was one which he bought because he used to hear gospel songs played on it when he was young.

A Platinum, Shinbone And Diamond Engagement Ring

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

Whatever will men who are going to propose think of next? Mike Perrett from north-west London lost a leg a few years ago and he had saved the bone, making things from that bone using a DIY kit. He was always good with his hands so when he saw a friend wearing a plastic earring he went and made a bone earring from the bone he had. He also made a necklace and cufflinks.

So when it came to one of the most important days of his life, he wondered how he could make it special for his girlfriend Melita and that’s when he got the idea of using some of the bone for an engagement ring. So he worked with a jeweller and the platinum ring has a diamond and – you guessed it – a piece of bone!

Mike lost his leg in India when he was helping out in an orphanage. He was playing volleyball with the children when he fell off a cliff. His leg could not be saved but his shin bone was given to him and he’s kept it as a reminder.

And Now, An Interactive Engagement Ring

Monday, July 26th, 2010

While traditions still stand strong in many areas in our lives, possibly the strongest one – the tradition of the engagement ring is beginning to feel the effects of technology. As the winds of geekiness blow through this traditional practice, there are a few items that elicit a lot more than just curiosity because they could just be the beginnings of a trend. Like this interactive engagement ring that an artist made to propose to his girlfriend.

Luke Jerram worked with a jeweller and the result was a ring that could stream pictures of the couple. LED light or the light from a candle is enough to project small images that are stored in the ring through a transparent stone when it is dark. So this ring is actually a very tiny projector and what’s more, the pictures can be changed whenever you want.

Imagine having all your favourite pictures right there on your finger, to be projected in a dark room whenever you feel nostalgic and want to relive a bit of the romance. Not many people will want such a big leap from the traditional diamond but there will be young geeks the world over who think this is such a cool idea. It is also so personal but would a woman want to break ties with tradition so easily is the question.

Exclusive Pictures To Partly Pay For Stunning Diamond Engagement Ring

Sunday, July 25th, 2010

Well known New Zealand broadcasters got engaged with a dazzling 5-carat diamond engagement ring and they are using their private pictures of the engagement to recover part of the costs. The New Zealand Women’s Weekly has paid a lot for the pictures which were splashed across their pages but it will probably cover around one-fifth of the price of the diamond ring. It’s the diamond ring that seems to be the main focus of this engagement because it is a stunner.

Kate Hawkesby and Mike Hosking have two children each from previous relationships and they are usually very private about their lives. So it was a big surprise to see this very public declaration of their love. And it wasn’t a wedding – just an engagement. So we wonder whether the wedding pictures will be up for grabs too. They say you could get double the usual money if there is a package deal.

Hosking has usually come out strongly against such public displays and has been heard to criticise the way celebrities and high profile people have huge media coverage. In fact, he had a legal battle going with a magazine over pictures of his children being shown. Looks like a bit of money has changed his mind.

It’s Wedding Rings For Miranda And Orlando

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

So the good looking couple is married and quite contrary to what the world expected, they got married in a very quiet ceremony far away from any kind of celebrity wedding. And they are wearing their wedding rings now.

So if it was so quiet how did everyone know? Miranda had apparently cancelled once of her appearances as brand ambassador and she made off to get married and go off on a honeymoon with her famous fiancé. They had got engaged just a month ago and Miranda Kerr has promised that she will go back to Australia with Orlando Bloom to celebrate her wedding with her friends and family.

The two are such a wonderful looking couple and the papers and news channels are going to miss out on them not having had a wedding that could have been splashed across the news.

Are Engagement Rings Going The Old World Way?

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

Increasingly, more and more engagement rings seem to be going the Victorian way with designs going back in time. Ask any jeweller and he will tell you that Victorian designs are very much in demand today and growing in popularity.

So what is a typical Victorian design all about or is there such a thing as a typical Victorian design? They usually have large stones in the centre – these can be diamonds or they can be some other coloured precious stone. This is usually surrounded by an intricate design which is as beautiful as it is timeless. The ring will usually contain some etched words inside and this can be a message of love or a verse.

These Victorian engagement rings can be found in shops that sell old jewellery or pawn shops and they are also available at most jewellers today. These rings are made with modern technology but they look like the real old designs. More and more well known jewellery designers are starting their line of Victorian ring designs and so you’ll find you have a wide choice indeed to choose from.

Huge Engagement Ring, Hush-Hush Wedding For Chelsea Clinton

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

So the whole world knows that the former US President’s only daughter, Chelsea is getting married on the 31st of this month. And she’s getting married to a rich Jewish investment banker. However, nothing more seems to have leaked out about the wedding. How everything could have stayed so hush-hush is anyone’s guess but that’s the way it is. The only other thing that everyone has seen are pictures of the huge diamond engagement ring on Chelsea’s finger.

The wedding dress too is a secret and there are whispers that it could be an Oscar de la Renta while others say it’s most likely a Vera Wang. Fashionistas are going to be waiting to see what the wedding dress will be like. But this is all that it will be till the wedding day – just rumours and speculation.

Even the venue isn’t known and obviously no one who has been invited is talking. If one were to go by the size of Chelsea’s engagement ring, no doubt the wedding dress, the wedding ring and the wedding ceremony and reception will be out of this world. One wonders if any pictures of the wedding will surface after the wedding so the world can see what it was like.
