Thirteen Years Later, Wedding Ring For Eamonn Holmes
Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have finally got married, thirteen years after they first got together and an eight-year old son later. They’re both 50 and they’ve been partners in their TV show This Morning On Fridays for a long time. The wedding was attended by so many of their TV presenter friends in Hook at the beautiful Elvetham Hotel in Hampshire with its charming nineteenth-century décor.
Ruth’s dress was designed by Angelina Colarusso, the Italian designer and it was a matching gown and headdress affair. It was a warm, sunny day and everyone looked happy basking in the sunshine, especially the bride and groom. He even twittered about it, saying that Ruth’s beauty quite eclipsed the sun that day.
The only dark spot in that perfectly happy day was that Ruth’s father couldn’t give her away so his friend had to do it as her father has Alzheimer’s. It looked like they were perfectly happy to be living together without the benefit of the clergy so we wonder why he changed his mind. He says something happened when he turned fifty – maybe that half-century mark is a turning point. According to Ruth, they bicker a lot but are very happy together. She compares their life together to Richard Burton and Elizabeth Burton.
