A 2.6-Carat Diamond Ring Donation

Sunday, May 9th, 2010

In a charity drive in Pennsylvania, USA, there was one very generous donation – a diamond ring with a 2.6 carat diamond. There were many costume jewellery pieces that had been donated and a retired jeweller who was sorting through them was suddenly taken aback when he realized he was holding a diamond ring in his hand.

Well, after that, a certified gemmologist was asked to help and he said it was a European cut diamond which he valued at nearly ÂŁ12,000! The ring could have come from anywhere as the donations from thousands of people were collected and brought to a centralised location. The charity is very grateful to the unknown donor.

Family Heirloom Wedding Ring Lost And Found

Saturday, May 1st, 2010

At the Warwickshire tip, there was high drama when Darren Higham lost his precious wedding ring which was a family heirloom. It just slipped off his finger and he was distraught but he was not allowed to go to the skip because of safety regulations. However, the staff at the tip went all out and searched for two days and finally found the ring.

According to Darren, it had been a bad period as he had hurt his leg, then lost his ring and then had to go in for surgery. Darren is a butcher and it was his grandfather’s wedding ring which he had on. Of course he went and thanked the lads and took them a bag of barbeque meat. The workers have fondly nicknamed the boy who found it Gollum after the character in The Lord of the Rings.
