Wedding Rings Off With The Equality Bill
With the new Equality Bill coming into force, everyone will have to go to work without a wedding ring on their finger. Ostensibly, this is to put divorcees on par with other religious groups workers so they do not feel discriminated against. This shock announcement means that all married people wishing to wear their wedding rings will be discriminated against by law, simply because the law feels that they should not proudly wear their married status on their fingers.One wonders when this will end – how long can the majority appease every group that emerges and shouts out discrimination from the rooftops? Maybe a time will come when it will be mandatory for all to wear wedding rings just so no one will be discriminated against. At the workplace, employers feel this is a step too far and wonder when there will be an end to this political interference at the workplace.
Luckily, the announcement was just a joke - an April Fool’s joke!
