If a diamond is almost perfect, then it will probably be snapped up to be used in the production of lasers rather than find its way to be made into a diamond ring. While diamonds are highly in demand for engagement rings, they are also used like mirrors in laser technology. While very high quality mirrors used to be what the scientists relied on, they have since discovered that flawless diamonds could do the job as well, if not better – so we should be prepared to see some of the best diamonds heading laser-wards.
The first diamond laser has been built by the physics team of Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. According to them, diamonds have the potential to be very powerful lasers because of their ability to transmit heat and light effectively. This breakthrough seems to have opened the door to a new era in laser technology.

Apparently, there’s been a beauty pageant comprising of Tiger Woods’ alleged lady loves. There were supposed to be four of them but only three participated and the winner went home $75,000 richer as well as winning a one of a kind diamond ring.
The contest was arranged by AshleyMadison, a dating website and was hosted by Howard Stern. The ring was designed by Steven Singer and it is a unique design – a black diamond weighing over 3 carats in the centre, making it an unusual non-engagement ring. So this is what could well become the model for rings for mistresses.

Did Katie Price/Jordan really sell her wedding ceremony coverage for £1 million? That’s the news going around about her second wedding with Alex Reid. However, there is some doubt about the wedding ceremony being legitimate because the one who conducted the ceremony did not possess a proper license.
One would have thought that something like that would put a damper to her spirits but no – she is said to be still negotiating with the magazines. All she feels is that she can then have an even bigger wedding and this time, have it in London – and maybe she wants a lot more for it, too!

What was Mark Owen thinking? A few days ago, he felt this twinge of conscience and went babbling to the media about his affairs and how he had cheated. Of course, he said he was sorry and that he felt guilty and that was why he had confessed. Maybe he’s wishing he’d kept his mouth firmly shut and remembered that discretion really is the better part of valour. His wife, Emma Ferguson wasn’t going to take it as she has showed him in no uncertain terms. It’s been off with her wedding ring for her and she has thrown him out of the house.
The Take That singer has checked himself into a rehab centre and it is said that he will be going through some intensive therapy. He feels he needs it to get past his problems – drinking as well as sex-related. We’re wondering if he should also be thinking of getting treated for blabbing when he should be keeping quiet.

The Russian diamond producer, Alrosa has just signed a deal with diamond cutters in India for a three year contract valued at over £320 million. Alrosa is one of the largest raw diamonds suppliers and they account for a quarter of the world’s supply of diamonds today. They sold a little more than that last year to diamond cutting companies in India.
The two major diamond companies with whom they have signed the deal are Ratilal Becharlal & Sons and Rosy Blue Diamond. Depending on the situation changing globally, there has been provision made in the agreement to adjust the range of diamonds supplied as well as the price. It also includes provision for an increase in the supply.

The pop star has been seen around her Cheshire home minus her wedding ring. It’s been a hard time for Kerry recently, with the split from her husband, Mark Croft. He said she was cheating on him and she threw him out of her mansion. They’ve been married three years and they have two children.
However, Kerry is looking much trimmer after the split – she has lost three stone. Like the true reality star she is, she seems to have tied up with the media to track events in her life - so the cameras started rolling ever since she left the UK after her split with Mark. She had headed off to Tenerife for a bit but she’s back now.

Before he got married, he says he cheated on his wife, Emma and he’s really sorry. The Take That singer has said that he had ten affairs before he slipped on that wedding ring. The couple have two children and the star says that the turning point was his wedding day in November 2009 – he’s never cheated since. So why now, one might ask? Apparently he had been living with the guilt and he wanted to come out with it so that’s why he’s spilled the stories of his many affairs and many women. In the same breath, he has asked the media to be sensitive where his wife and children are concerned. Looks like the public outpouring was supposed to be an apology for actions that no one knew about till now.

He wasn’t ready to confess to the public that he really was engaged to the make-up artist on his show, not even when she was seen sporting a huge rock of a ring on her left hand. However, at on the Jay Leno show two days ago, Simon Cowell finally came out and told the world that he was engaged to Mezhgan Hussainy. Even though speculation is rife that he actually proposed on Valentine’s Day, he refused to get drawn into making any confessions of how, where and when.
Of course, a bit of his acerbic wit came to his aid and he said that it would be a shame if what he was wasn’t carried on – so he’s obviously looking forward to little Simons coming along. Famous for his caustic wit and quick comebacks, maybe this was one time that Simon did look a bit embarrassed but it’s obvious he’s very much in love.
