Bonham’s Starts Off Fine Jewellery Sale With Diamond Pendant

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

There might have been a recession last year but you wouldn’t think it with the kind of fine jewellery Bonham’s sold at its sale last year. This year will begin with the sale of a 14.6 carat diamond pendant costing £300,000 – at least that’s what they hope it will fetch at their sale at the end of April.

The diamonds on sale this year are exceptional. Among them are four E colour solitaire diamond rings which are absolutely flawless. There is also a gem set collar, a diamond bracelet and a bracelet with emeralds and onyx.

The designers come from all over the region – from Beirut, Turkey, Lebanon, etc. Some of them belong to traditional jeweller families.

Wedding Rings For Sacha And Isla

Monday, March 29th, 2010

They had a very quiet wedding, we’re told – there were just six guests and it was a Jewish ceremony. Most people knew that Isla Fisher had converted to Sacha Cohen Baron’s faith – Judaism. They came back a few days ago with their daughter Olive. The wedding was held in Paris where they had gone on holiday and they’ve been together eight years now. Sacha was making his wedding ring quite obvious to the public as they went off to their car.

Isla has made a mark acting and as a teen writer while Sacha is a comedian and a writer. They have been happy together for a long time now and make a grand appearance at most of the red carpet events. Both of them have won awards too.

Netherlands Designer Showcases Wedding Ring That Represents Reality

Sunday, March 28th, 2010

Josien Pieters felt that the wedding ring as it is, is not a true representation of marriage. So he has designed a wedding ring that replicates reality. As he says, marriage is not a fairytale relationship – no happily ever after. It is a relationship that, like everything else in the real world, has its ups, its downs and keeps evolving. What he believes is that it is better for couples to start their relationship realistically rather than romantically.

The wedding ring has three parts which come together as one – the first represents a beautiful butterfly when everything is perfect. The second part is like a cage where the couple starts feeling trapped in the relationship and the third stands for pliers or the time when you need to bring the relationship to an end. A rather harsh representation of marriage but one has to admit that it’s quite ingenious and interesting, not to say realistic.

Jesse James Still Has Wedding Ring On

Saturday, March 27th, 2010

In the face of so many rumours about their marriage being on the rocks, Sandra Bullock’s husband, Jesse James was seen with his wedding ring still on his finger. Recently, Sandra was heard commenting about Elin, Tiger Woods’ wife – that if she were in Elin’s place and her husband had strayed, she wouldn’t have stopped hitting him. Well, it looks like soon after she said that, rumours have surfaced about Jesse James and his extra-marital affairs.

He was seen taking their two kids to school like always but Jesse looked tense and Sandra wasn’t around. Both haven’t said anything though speculation seems to be raging about how long it will be before they call it quits. This comes so soon after Sandra Bullock won the Oscar for the first time.

Lose An Engagement Ring, Find Another

Friday, March 26th, 2010

In Massachusetts, USA, a woman lost her engagement ring in the parking lot of a market in December. When she went back a few weeks ago to enquire if anyone had found it, she was stunned to find another ring right in front of the car she had just parked in that very parking lot. There it was, a dazzling diamond engagement ring – not her ring, but another lost ring.

So she called the police to see if there were any complaints about lost rings and she even put up ads online because she wanted to help whoever it was who had lost that ring and was going through the same agony she went through. We hope that she finds the owner and that she is lucky enough to find her ring too.

Jennifer Love Hewitt Loves Trying On Diamond Rings

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

The main star in the Ghost Whisperer TV serial, Jennifer Love Hewitt has officially split from Jamie Kennedy and she has just written a book which dishes out quite a lot of dating advice. It’s a book that more humourous than serious advice and one wonders if this was Jamie, the stand up comedian’s influence.

What Jennifer says she loves doing – and that’s because she calls herself a ‘loveaholic’ – is to try on diamond rings at least once a month. Apparently she has been doing this since she was twelve years old. She walks into her favourite jewellery shop and she tries on what she feels would be her dream ring.

Diamond Ring Or Diamond Mario?

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

There’s a diamond Mario up for sale on eBay made of 10 carat gold and diamonds in 4 colours. The description on eBay calls it a men’s pendant though it looks good enough to be worn by both men and women. We’re wondering if this would be a good substitute for a man’s engagement ring, especially if the man is into computer games.

Coloured diamonds seem to be getting very popular – maybe it’s because you can do a lot with them design-wise. Both men and women seem to be looking at all colours when it comes to diamonds today. Time was when only the clear diamonds had great value, with the coloured ones being seen as impure and therefore inferior. That, fortunately, seems to have changed ushering in a colourful era for diamond rings.

One Of DeBeers Diamond Mines Up For Sale

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

The Jagersfontein mines owned by the diamond giant DeBeers has been put up for sale and it looks like this property in South Africa will pass into the hands of investors who have black empowerment. This mine was operational from way back in 1870 right up to 1971 and from this mine, there have been many diamonds of repute that have been discovered at the end of the nineteenth century, like the Excelsior Diamond, nearly 1000 carats which was cut into 11 diamonds and the Jubilee, around 650 carats. In the sixties, the Earth Star was discovered, weighing nearly 250 carats but it was cut down to a pear-shaped dazzling diamond of a little over 111 carats.

The proposed sale of this mine is in line with the company’s policy to sell off anything that is not consistent with its commercial policy and also to hand over economic power in this area to more black people from the country. The diamond production from this mine might have dropped compared to earlier times but it is still a prestigious mine.

Wedding Rings Worth Thousands Stolen In Hertfordshire

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

A specialist diamond company employee was attacked as he was stepping out of his car and he was relieved of four hundred and fifty gold and diamond rings. Apparently his car had been followed by four men in a Toyota Avensis and when he alighted from his car at Park Street, one of the men came up to him, hit him and took away his holdall in which the rings were.

The attackers were said to look like East Europeans in their late twenties, wearing jeans as well as jackets and one of them had a bandana on. While the employee wasn’t really hurt, he was in a state of shock. The police have warned the public against buying any cheap rings that anyone should try to sell to them.

Peter Andre Removes Tattoo From Wedding Ring Finger

Sunday, March 21st, 2010

So it’s the last tie removed and maybe that’s what makes it so final. Peter Andre had Katie Price’s name tattooed on his wedding ring finger and though he removed his wedding ring when they split up, he took his time to remove the tattoo. Well, it’s finally on its way off, as he goes through the laser sessions needed to remove it. He said he didn’t want to rush it and he was wondering if he would ever want to remove it – the primary reason being the kids. He doesn’t want to let their problems affect his children’s lives. However, it looks like Peter Andre wants to move on with his life like Katie Price has – so this is probably the last visible vestige of their life together to go.

Meanwhile, while he was seen around town with his finger bandaged, talk was rife about how upset he was over Katie and how she was handling their kids while fans were amused at her slip up on a UK TV Today show where she accidentally said. ‘Me and Pete’ instead of ‘Me and Alex’ – guess old habits die hard.
