Diamond Ring Heist At Ayr
In what seemed to be the same modus operandi, a man seized a diamond ring at a jeweller’s at Ayr. He had done this before in Hamilton at a jewellery store there. Then, he walked into His Nibs at Ayr and pulled the same stunt. He asked to take a look at engagement rings and when the saleslady showed him some, he made off with a diamond ring valued at £4000.
The thief is a father of four children and one wonders whether he was trying to get himself a free but expensive present for his wife on Valentine’s Day. The pressure has already started building and many are on the lookout for expensive gifts to give their girlfriends or wives. At least 10% of those presents will be diamond engagement rings. This is perhaps why jewellery stores are taking out huge insurance policies so they have got themselves covered.
