Pawned Wedding Ring Bears Convoy Of Charity’s Expenses
A Turkish lady pawned her wedding ring in order to contribute to a convoy sent from Bradford with medical supplies worth £250,000 for the Palestinian community. It all began with 45 people from Bradford but as they crossed over from Egypt to Gaza, they have been joined by many more volunteers in the convoy to carry medical supplies. The volunteers have come from many countries around the world.
The convoy is expected to take sixteen days to reach the Palestinian capital. It consists of four ambulances as well as ten trucks loaded with medical supplies. Along the way, they are being cheered on by people who are lining the roads to welcome them with red roses. When the UK contingent gets back home, they will find a huge event organized to welcome them back.
