15-Diamond Ring For Lakers 15th Championship

Saturday, October 31st, 2009

The Los Angeles Lakers are a lucky lot indeed. To celebrate their 15th NBA Championship, they are getting specially designed diamond rings. The rings are designed by the famous Beverly Hills jeweller, Jason and they are made of special 15 carat yellow and white gold with 15 diamonds. The diamonds weigh 2.85 carats.

The ring is made to look like their arena from the side and the ring carries the number as well as the name of each player. What’s more, each player has the image of his face that has been laser-engraved onto the ring and that’s personalising it so much. The letter ‘L’ is also engraved on the ring – at different places for each player. Even the packaging is special. When the box that contains each ring is opened, there will be two LED lights that shine on the ring as the ring rotates on its base with the help of a mechanical device.

£6 Million Diamond Wearing Welsh Singer Meets The Queen

Friday, October 30th, 2009

Katherine Jenkins, the Welsh classical singer is known as much for her voice as her diamonds worth millions which she wears for red carpet events. When she was invited to lunch with the Queen at Buckingham Palace, she was delighted. She says that when she excused herself to go to the ladies room, she couldn’t resist taking out her camera and photographing the place so she could go home and show everyone some pictures, especially her mother.

Katherine Jenkins had sung for the Queen and was later invited over. What did they talk about? About her career as a singer and about dogs. The lady has been singing for six years and she’s made quite a name for herself, including singing before the Pope and the Queen. She also signed a million dollar deal with Universal when she was 23. She’s very careful about what she eats and drinks as she wants to take care of her voice for a long time.

Diamond Rings Or Diamond Drinks?

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

There are so many of us for whom diamonds mean diamond rings and in all probability, diamond engagement rings. However, there are some who think beyond rings and today diamonds have moved from jewellery to accessories like bags and shoes to mobile phones and now, spirits. Or rather, the bottle that holds them.

Chambord is known all over for its black raspberry liqueur. This French liqueur comes in a distinctive bottle shaped like an orb. British jeweller Donald Edge has encrusted one of these bottles with sixty carats worth of diamonds and this includes an emerald cut diamond. He has also embellished it with pearls and yellow gold which has been fashioned by hand. This is a special order for the Breakfast at Tiffany’s launch in London. Chambord has always been associated with fashion and the arts so it’s a fitting celebration for the opening of this new stage production.

Tiffany’s Diamond Engagement Rings Cut And Polished In Africa

Monday, October 26th, 2009

Tiffany’s has decided to move backwards in the diamond chain. Ever since the demand for diamonds surged earlier in this decade, the retailer has been making plans to source, cut and polish its own diamonds so that it will not be at the mercy of middlemen. They have, thus far, set up units in many parts of the world. The one in Botswana, Africa, has around eighty workers in a factory without windows. The workers are not trained fully as yet and they need constant attention to make sure they are doing things right.

However, this is the way Tiffany wants it, even though it has to cope with very low productivity, labour costs that are pretty high and the prospect of their workers staging sit-ins. The problem is, should a high end retailer really go all the way back to the sourcing, cutting and polishing stage when they are not really equipped to do so? Especially when they don’t have the necessary expertise in these areas? Tiffany’s however, defends their strategy, claiming to be building up stocks with lower costs for when the demand goes up again.

32-Carat Diamond Ring Sold Through Christie’s

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

It’s a flawless diamond and it is all of 32 carats. The diamond has an emerald cut and it belonged to Leonore Annenberg who worked as US Chief of Protocol in the Reagan administration in the US. She was married to Walter Annenberg, the billionaire publisher who passed away seven years ago. She passed away early this year and the auction house was commissioned to sell it in New York.

The diamond is set in a ring and has smaller pear-shaped diamonds on either side of it. It’s a huge diamond – almost the size of a walnut and it was cut by the famous David Webb of Manhattan. Christie’s thought they would get between £1.8 million and £3 million for it. What they did not expect from the buyer who remains anonymous was the astounding amount of close to £5 million that they got. The last 30-carat diamond they sold went for £1.8 million.

Big Brother Winner To Get Engaged Tomorrow With A Huge Diamond Ring

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

Shilpa Shetty, the winner of the Big Brother reality show in 2007 is all set to get engaged to her lover, Raj Kundra, a businessman based in London. The couple have been together for nearly two and a half years and the wedding is supposed to be only for close friends and family.

Shilpa Shetty wears a rock on her finger that is 14 carats so we’re guessing that the diamond engagement ring she gets will be bigger than that. The leggy actress said that both the engagement and the wedding in December will be private affairs though sources say that she has done a lot of jewellery shopping with each piece chosen with care. The wedding will be conducted in the traditional way and will probably be followed by a reception in London.

Stylish Stella In Just Her Wedding Ring

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

She dresses simply, her hair pulled back in a bun, with no jewellery other than her wedding ring. That’s Stella McCartney’s style as she balances her fashion business with her love for animals. She tries hard to get the fashion industry to ban the use of leather, fur and all animal related products but she knows that the going will be very slow. That’s because the industry doesn’t really care about issues like these and that saddens her. She’s been brought up in an environment where animal rights issues were very important and she would like to see the fashion industry take the lead in this.

Her mother, Linda provided the impetus to vegetarianism in the family. This year, Stella and her sister launched a campaign for meat-free Mondays. She tries to impress upon people that if we stopped using meat and stopped using fur and leather, we would cut down our greenhouse gas emissions as well as free up so much of food and land. She feels people don’t listen to what they don’t want to hear. She wishes they would.

Diddy’s Diamond Ring Flung With Dollar Bills

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

There he was doing what he does best – the showmanship and the crowd-pulling gags. This time around, he was throwing cash to the audience – $100 bills, only they were fake. However, mixed up in them were a few $1 bills and the moment someone in the audience realised that, there was a scramble for the notes. The whole audience went berserk and then suddenly, Diddy looked at his hand and his diamond ring wasn’t there.

Diddy’s diamond ring cost £12,000 and he didn’t like it one bit that it might have got flung into the audience while he was throwing those notes at them. So everyone who was in that audience got frisked that night as they were leaving. They didn’t find the ring though. Maybe Diddy should stop throwing fake notes around. All right, some of them weren’t but those were the single dollar bills. Maybe the person who got the ring thought that the ring was meant to be thrown too! Now we wonder why Diddy was so distraught? Surely that ring was insured, or was it?

Clooney And His Cartier Diamond Ring Gift

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

He’s been vehemently denying that he is thinking of getting married or that he is even anywhere close to getting engaged. But George Clooney is said to be smitten with Elisabetta Canalis, the Italian TV beauty who has now moved into his home in California.

He’s the man they say just cannot be caught by any women. He’s probably had many beautiful women on his arm – after all, he is incredibly sexy and good looking. However, this time around, it looks like ol’ George is playing his cards close to his chest. He is 48 years old and maybe he wants everything to be perfect this time. There have been many presents reportedly that he has given his new love but this Cartier diamond ring is the one that have set the gossips’ tongues wagging. So it might not be an engagement ring but maybe it is a sign of the relationship getting a lot more serious.

Lindsay’s Diamond Ring Birthday Gift

Monday, October 19th, 2009

Lindsay Logan is wearing a lovely diamond ring on her finger and it is a birthday present from her partner DJ Samantha Ronson. Their troubled relationship which is sometimes on, sometimes off seems to be on a positive path right now and the over £13,000 diamond ring was for Lindsay’s 22nd birthday. The ring was from Cartier’s and while both deny that it is an engagement ring, they do admit to it being a ring that shows commitment.

The Mean Girls star was seen around Los Angeles in the US wearing the ring as she went shopping with Samantha. They seemed rather happy together and Samantha, who does not earn as much as Lindsay must have been happy that she could get her something like this. She’s a proud person and it looks like Lindsay and this openly gay DJ just cannot do without each other.
