Pink Diamond Rings Rule

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

When it is a natural pink diamond, you can be sure that it will be phenomenally expensive. Of course, there are treated diamonds too which acquire a pink colour and these too are very beautiful but a natural pink diamond has a charm and a value of its own, seeing as they are so rare. The largest pink diamond in the world today is 185 carats and it is called the Darya-i-Nur.

Today, most of the pink diamonds come from the Argyle mines in Australia, which also produces some other wonderful coloured diamonds. When it comes to pink diamonds however, nine-tenths of the world’s supply comes from these mines. Thanks to celebrity engagements where pink has become fashionable, pink diamonds too have made it to the ‘must-have’ status. Whether they are natural coloured or those with the colour enhanced, they are very much in demand indeed today.

Diamonds Dazzle At MTV Awards Show

Friday, September 18th, 2009

So the whole world got caught up in the Kanye West episode at the MTV Awards show and with it, the attention was focussed on Beyonce even though she had nothing to do with it. However, this meant that everyone caught a glimpse of the diamonds all over her, dazzling for all they were worth! Not just her – there were a few others as well who were bathed in the dazzle of diamonds.

The dress code for the day seems to have been diamond hoop earrings – and huge ones at that. There was Beyonce of course as well as Alicia Keys, Kristin Cavallari and Lorraine Schwartz. Together with the diamond hoops, there were diamond bracelets, diamond rings and diamond necklaces that added to the dazzle of the night.

Facebook Helps Track Diamond Ring Thief

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

Who would have thought that a page that was accessed on a computer could lead to tracking down a thief who stole two diamond rings? But that is exactly what happened in a town in Pennsylvania in the US when a thief broke into a house and made off with a couple of diamond rings.

When the victim got home, she realised that two of her diamond rings were missing and she noticed that someone had broken in through the bedroom window. The rings were in the same room where her computer was kept and she also noticed that the thief had logged onto to his Facebook account and forgotten to log off. So it was easy enough to trace him and he is now in police custody. The moral of the story? Don’t leave your Facebook footprint behind if you want to get caught!

Grieving Widower Wants Late Wife’s Wedding Ring Back

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

A widower from Ipswich aged 89 has offered a reward for the return of his late wife’s jewellery. He was widowed a few years ago and these rings mean a lot to him from a sentimental point of view. The thieves posed as people from the water company – there were two of them – one young and one older. They pretended to look around for any water problem and it seemed like they knew exactly what to take. They took the envelope which contained his wife’s rings.

The envelope they took had three of his late wife’s rings – a gold wedding ring, an engagement ring of gold and diamonds and a signet ring. He is so devastated that someone should steal something that is of such great sentimental value to him as they belonged to the wife he adored. They had been married for 51 years when she passed away five years ago. He has offered a £100 reward to anyone who returns it to him.

Jo Wood Says She Buried Her Wedding Ring

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

When Ronnie from the Rolling Stones ran off with a teenager after being married to Jo for 24 years, she decided to let the dead marriage go and buried her wedding ring in a little coffin that someone sent her, after a bit of a ceremony. Today, she says that it was the best thing that happened to her because it has meant that she could move on to better things after having spent 31 years with him. Though she still cares for him, she does not have any intention of taking him back.

She is a competitor in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing and her partner is Brendan Cole. She’s putting her all into this and training nine hours a day. There are times when she feels that it’s getting a bit too much for her but she keeps on and she seems to be doing the best she can to be single and happy again.

What is it about fairytale weddings and castles that are every girl’s dream for her wedding? The rich and famous love the idea of a castle for their wedding and there are many celebrities who plan the event of their lives in fairytale locations like castles. Is Emily Blunt Wearing A Diamond Engagement Ring?

Saturday, September 12th, 2009

It looks like that – she had on a huge sparkler at LA’s airport recently as she signed autographs. And it was on her ring finger so it looks like she is engaged to her beau, John Krasinski. They have been dating for a while and he really dotes on her and treats her so well – something she just loves!

She acted in The Devil Wears Prada while he stars in The Office series. No sooner did the news about the engagement ring hit the stands than their fans were at it – wishing them all the very best on the Internet. No, they haven’t talked about wedding dates as yet but we’re guessing it’s early days yet and they will announce it by and by.

When Men Have Long Wedding Ring Fingers

Friday, September 11th, 2009

Does the length of the wedding ring finger in a male really mean that much? According to recent research, it could well be. There have been a number of studies that point to these men being more aggressive than most men. This long wedding ring finger seems to be a pointer to not just behavioral issues but health issues as well.

When it comes to behaviour, the aggression in these men seems more pronounced and they also tend to take more risks. When it comes to health, they could suffer from all the stress related ailments that affect the aggressive. What seems to be emerging is that these men were exposed to the testosterone hormone when they were in the womb and this seems to be the reason why their fingers are long and why they act the way they do. Of course, they are great successes when they are in professions where aggression and risk-taking are called for.

Wedding Ring For Big Ben

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

Ben Harding and Stephanie exchanged wedding rings and the fighter from Swindon looks like he is all set to settle into family life. In March, he broke his leg while he was fighting and this means that he has to take time off for at least a year and a half. Only after this period can he even think of beginning to train. This will make him close to forty when he is ready to make a comeback and everyone knows just how hard it is.

Ben feels that maybe with this injury, he needs to stop because he is well aware that he will be too old to get back to the ring by the time he is fit. He’s been in and out of the Great Western hospital for nearly six months and he is grateful to everyone who took care of them there. Of course, he still has to use crutches very often but he was able to ditch them when he walked down that aisle.

Now Pawn Your Diamond Rings Online In The UK And The US

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Didn’t think it would happen? Well, like everything else, pawnshops too are going virtual and you can pawn anything from your rings and other jewellery to expensive watches and the like. Right now, there are only two known online pawnshops – the one in UK at borro.com and the one in the US called internetpawn.com. All you do is to register on their site, send them your item to be pawned and they will send you the money.

It looks like we are going back in time where credit is concerned and these pawn shops tend to flourish because they hold your collateral, very often precious to you and you will work that much harder to redeem those items. It’s also much more dignified to do it through the faceless world of the Internet rather than go to some seedy shop which can cause a lot of embarrassment.
