Who Buys The Engagement Ring And The Wedding Ring?
Traditionally, the man bought the girl’s engagement ring and he bought the wedding ring for her as well while she bought his wedding ring. This still holds true with many couples. However, the winds of change seem to be blowing through the traditions of weddings. From one engagement ring, many have adopted the idea of two wedding rings – one for the man and one for the woman and the wedding rings are either paid for by each other or they are bought as a set and the amount is split between both.
In a time when both individuals are usually working, this makes a lot of sense. The woman too can afford to spend so an equal sharing is a good thing. If the woman’s engagement ring with diamonds costs the man a pretty packet, today, so can a man’s engagement ring. The wedding rings, too, are often more than just simple gold bands and can cost a lot, especially if they are platinum or titanium. Like the wedding expenses that are usually split equally, the time seems to have come for the same happening with engagement rings and weddings rings as well.
