Pensioner In Sidmouth Helps Find 71-Year Old Engagement Ring
70-year old Wally Cotgrave of Sidmouth and his metal detector are a great boon to many who have lost things in the area as he helps them to look around and find what they have lost with his metal detector. One of his recent finds was an engagement ring that was all of 71 years. Other things that he has found over the years are wedding rings, spectacles, a phone and of course, many artefacts that go back to the Viking era.
The couple who got their ring back was thrilled. So was a person who had lost his phone. When Wally tried calling him after he had found it, the man was furious wondering how Wally had got hold of it – he apologised later and said that the phone had all his business contacts and he was really happy to get it back. So Wally goes down to the beach everyday with his metal detector – you never know what the day could bring!
