Panning Your Own Wedding Rings

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

A 25-year old lady put her passion for panning gold from British rivers to good use by making hers and her husband’s wedding rings with the gold she had panned over the years. That meant they saved quite a bit of money and it was also a special thing for her because she loves her hobby so much.

It all began when she was a tiny toddler of three and she had collected enough for two wedding rings. She loves it – even though it can be back-breaking work and one would never think that there was so much gold to be found in the UK. Just a flake here and just another there all added up and she is so happy today that she did it.

Diamond Rings And The World Federation Of Diamond Bourses

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

The WFDB’s first Asia summit was held a few days ago in Hong Kong and this was with the specific intention of making its ties with the member bourses in the Far East stronger. Considering the way things are going, Asia seems to be where the growth for diamonds will come from, so it makes so much sense. The summit sought to not just strengthen relationships with these bourses but also to appraise the West of the developments that were taking place here. With better communication, there could be a better exchange of ideas as well as trade between the two hemispheres.

In China for example, diamond rings still sell and there does not seem to be any ill effects of the recession that has gripped the Western world. After an initial slide, the markets have bounced back and diamond jewellery has a great market there right now. With so many Chinese adopting western ways, diamonds are very much a part of the bridal jewellery and diamond rings are still very much in demand as engagement rings.

Is that A Engagement Ring On Anna’s Finger?

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

Anna Kournikova and Enrique Inglesias have been together for so many years – we’ve lost count. The tennis star – she’s never won a singles tennis title but she’s probably more famous than most who do – and her singer boyfriend have always maintained a No Comment attitude whenever they have been asked about their status as a couple. Then last year, there were rumours flying thick and fast that they were about to get married – and then, there was nothing to be seen – no engagement ring, no whispers about a wedding.

Now it looks like it has all surfaced again as Anna was spotted with a massive diamond ring on her wedding ring finger. So obviously, she was bombarded with questions but all she did was to hide her hand behind her back and refuse to give anyone a satisfactory answer. Such are the ways of celebrities – they thrive on being in the neither Yes or No zone. So we are left wondering as usual whether it is an engagement ring or not.

Kevin Jonas And His 211-Diamond Engagement Ring Proposal

Monday, July 6th, 2009

He’s grown up in the spotlight as a part of the Jonas Brothers boy band group. The band was a popular Disney Channel children’s network group and while they may have been made fun of a bit because of their religious leanings and their purity rings, they are a very popular band. And now, Kevin has got engaged to Danielle Deleasa and he proposed to her with a ring that he had designed himself.

The engagement ring has a 3-carat diamond in the centre and there are 210 diamonds set in a pave design on either side. Little wonder she said Yes about five hundred times. She says she was surprised and when she realised it was for real, she said Yes – all those many times – and then started crying.

Diamond Ring Solutions In Times Of Recession

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

The American company FreddyDiamonds.com say that they have found just the solution for times when people do not have as much money to spend and still want to buy a diamond for the diamond engagement ring. What they are doing is getting diamonds that have been classified as belonging to the lower grades and through a unique process, removing the carbon particles for within them. It is these carbon specs that make the diamond unsightly so once they are removed, it means a glittering diamond that looks good and is affordable for many more people.

A lot of the diamond jewellery made with these diamonds is finding favour with people but it is the diamond engagement ring that is the one that is most in demand. So even though people tend to be able to spend a lot less today, they can still have their diamond – and a diamond that looks great.

Win a pair of wedding rings and maybe the woman can do the proposing for a change if she is the winner. The contest is being run right now in the US and the lucky winner will walk away with two platinum engraved wedding rings from Kirk Kara worth around £3000. The contest ends on July 15 and here’s what the women who enter have to do. In 200 words, they have to send in how they will propose to the man they want to marry. The most innovative entry wins this fabulous prize.

With more and more women doing the proposing and with even movies made around this theme, maybe this contest comes at the right time. There may be many a woman who has her sights set on those rings and winning it might give her the courage to take the initiative and propose.

Is There Going To Be An Apprentice Engagement Ring?

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

The popular TV show, The Apprentice, has been in the news lately for an off-the-sets romance between Kate Walsh who was a runner-up and Philip Taylor. The gossip is that they have been seeing each other since last year and a fortnight ago, she said that she might consider marrying him.  Then, a few days ago, they were seen shopping in London for diamond rings – so was it an engagement ring they were looking for? They have just come back from New York where they holidayed together. However, representatives of both say that it isn’t true and that an engagement is not in the offing any time now. So we just have to wait and see.

Heather Locklear’s Diamond Ring

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

There’s a diamond ring on Heather Locklear’s finger so the obvious conclusion is that she is engaged to her boyfriend Jack Wagner even though the affair has been on a rollercoaster ride for a while. People have speculated as much over whether they are still a couple or not as they have over whether they will ever get married or not. So when she was seen coming into the airport at New York with a diamond band on her wedding ring finger, the rumours ran rife.

Then the ring wasn’t on her finger when she attended an event but was back on again when the press spotted her with Jack Wagner later. Well, if they do get married, this will be her third but her representative strongly denies the possibility of an engagement now.

Lost Wedding And Engagement Ring Returned

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

In Oregon, USA, a woman took off her wedding ring and her diamond engagement ring at a tanning booth and forgot them there. She didn’t realise that she didn’t have them on till she went home and much later, when she realised she had misplaced them, the tanning booth was shut for the day. The following day, she came back to look for them and they were nowhere to be found.

The wedding ring was made of white gold with diamond chips and the engagement ring had three diamonds. The woman lodged a police compliant but also went to the press and made a public appeal for their return saying that there would be no questions asked if they were given back. The rings were put into her mailbox in an envelope. She is so happy to have them back especially as they were not insured. The police however, want to get to the bottom of the case because even though the rings were returned, it still qualifies as theft.
