Pastor Prays For Wedding Ring Return

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

The wedding ring is a gold band with waves carved on it and this was supposed to symbolise the stream of life flowing. The man who wore the wedding ring is no more but his wife, a pastor with the Episcopal Church at New Milford, Connecticut is distraught because the ring has been lost and hasn’t been found as yet.

What happened was that she had given it to their young son to wear but because it was too loose for this finger, she put it on a chain which he wore around his neck. While he and his friends were playing soccer in school, the chain broke and the ring fell out without his knowledge.

The pastor has made announcements in church and sent messages to the school but thus far, no one has come forward with the ring. The police feel that people are usually soft hearted about sentimental pieces of jewellery so there is a chance that the ring will find its way back. However, there does not seem to be any move in that quarter yet.

Ten Diamond Rings Given Away Free

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

It was to celebrate Mother’s Day in advance and it was like an incentive to women. Cairo’s Amman Bank ran a campaign for mothers from the beginning of March till the 21st. All they had to do was to use their VISA cards during that time. What they did when the time was up was to choose ten customers who had spent the most and each of them was given a diamond ring as an incentive.

Amman Bank always uses social events to reinforce its customer relationships. This was a special campaign just for mothers. The winners of course were thrilled and were very appreciative of the gesture. Little wonder that Amman Bank in Cairo scores high with its customers.

Stolen Wedding Rings Recovered

Monday, April 6th, 2009

In Brockton, Indianapolis in the US, the police have found stolen wedding rings and they don’t know who they belong to. There had been a series of housebreaks in the area and the police got lucky and managed to catch the man who was responsible.

How it happened was like this. Two of the policemen spotted a man who was acting suspicious and it happened to be just in the area where all the thefts had taken place. So when they questioned the man and searched his house, they managed to recover quite a number of the stolen items. There were many pieces of jewellery and the police managed to trace the owners and return it to them.

The only pieces of jewellery that they could not reunite with the owners were a pair of wedding rings. They got the jewellery back four months ago and there is still no one who has come forward to claim the engraved rings. For something as special as wedding rings which have so much sentimentality attached to them, it’s sad that the owners don’t know still about their recovery.

Diamond Engagement Ring Falls During Proposal

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

It must have been awkward. There was Don Walling in the middle of proposing to his girl on Brooklyn Bridge when the ring fell out of his hand and landed right below where the traffic was going past really fast. So he had to climb down from the pedestrian walkway onto the road and try and get the ring while the traffic zipped by.

He did it finally only to find that the ring was slightly bent but he must have been very relieved to have got it back. It was his birthday and he and his girlfriend were walking along the bridge with family members when he suddenly went down on one knee and proposed. She was surprised and then shocked when the ring fell down.

When Don was trying to retrieve the ring, passing vehicle drivers thought maybe he was trying to kill himself and there were some who pleaded with him not to jump off the bridge. The great thing was, his girlfriend said Yes not once but twice so all’s well that ends well.

A Ban On Zimbabwe Diamonds?

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

If the World Federation of Diamond Bourses has its way, Zimbabwe diamonds could be banned from coming into the mainstream. This is a result of suspicions that the diamond trade of Zimbabwe diamonds was funding President Mugabe and his human rights violations. The Kimberly Process initiated by the European Union some time ago was for very much the same reason and now, this call too tries to de-link the world diamond trade from conflict or blood diamonds.

The Zimbabwe officials have not come back regarding this call, though Harare has categorically denied that diamonds fund these operations. The World Federation however, has strongly recommended that all its members refrain from handling Zimbabwe diamonds at this point in time when there seemed to be a great deal of doubt in Harare’s denials.

Insuring Your Diamond Engagement Ring

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

Nothing will probably make up for the loss of an engagement ring – in most cases, the sentimental value of the ring is way beyond what it actually costs. However, it is good to be a bit practical about these things and see your engagement ring as a part of your investments as well. Most men spend at least two months’ salary to buy an engagement ring and in the case of theft or loss, it does make sense to at least get the value of the ring back in cold hard cash.

If you already have a comprehensive insurance policy, then all you have to do is to add the jewellery to that policy. However, if you don’t, you might wish to find out from an insurer how to go about it. Check with friends and colleagues and also take the time to check online about what to look for. You might want to look at a few options before you settle on any one policy or insurance agent.

Of course, just because you insure your diamond engagement ring does not mean you can be careless with it. Check the prongs regularly, especially of you feel one might be loose because your ring keeps catching threads in fabric, towels, etc. Check the metal to make sure that it is not bent or cracked. Take your rings to a trusted jeweller once a year and have him check them out to see if everything is all right.

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

Jennifer Hudson is obviously very happy and very much in love. She revealed to the press that her fiancé David Otunga took a lot of trouble – buying her Neil Lane studs and then choosing a Neil Lane diamond engagement ring to go with it. Not many men will go to such lengths! And the ring has a huge diamond and is dazzling.

The couple seems to have set a wedding date though they are not telling. We wonder if the wedding ring is also going to be matched and a stunner as well. All we know is that Jennifer’s dogs will be at the wedding – there are three of them and they will have pride of place in the ceremony. After all that she has been through, she’s made it big and no one deserves more happiness than she does!

Wedding Ring On Bar Refaeli’s Finger?

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

All it took was a bike ride and a glint of a gold ring on Bar Refaeli’s finger to send the rumours flying thick and fast. So many have been curiously watching and waiting to see how the affair between Leonardo DiCaprio and Bar Refaeli was progressing. So it was only natural that everyone who spotted the gold ring that she was wearing assumed that it was a wedding ring.

The two were getting ready to go for a spin on the bike when the ring was spotted. It was a gold ring and it was on her ring finger on the left hand. So maybe no one could be blamed for assuming the obvious. However, representatives for both of them denied this and said that it was just another ring on her finger. Leonardo DiCaprio had vehemently denied an engagement or the fact that marriage was on the cards just a short while ago in an interview. However, he has been known to say that he would love to have a family and kids, so who knows?
