Another Tennis Wedding Ring Exchange

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

Following in Federer’s footsteps, Andy Roddick, American tennis star also got married a few days ago and there were April showers to bless their wedding day. Not to mention Elton John singing for them.

The wedding ceremony was a small and intimate function and though it rained when the couple, Andy Roddick and his girlfriend, swimsuit model Brooklyn Decker exchanged Tiffany’s platinum wedding rings, it cleared up soon afterwards and a good time was had by all. Brooklyn’s diamond engagement ring is also from Tiffany’s and it has a diamond solitaire set in platinum.

The reception was at the tennis star’s country club and it was there that Sir Elton John gave him his wedding present – a song sung at the wedding. There’s probably no other gift that could be more special.

Lost Baggage With Engagement Ring Gives Man A Fright

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

An Australian couple were travelling to holiday in Europe with the first stop in one of Greece’s most beautiful islands, Santorini. Unknown to Lisa, Aaron had bought an engagement ring, wanting to propose to her in a romantic setting during their trip and he had hidden the ring in his baggage. Imagine his consternation when at the first halt, his bag couldn’t be found. Lisa couldn’t quite understand why he was so upset – not then.

Find his baggage he did and they went on to get engaged under beautiful Greek skies when he hired a dune buggy on a beach and they dined with the twinkling stars above. They got married at Little Bay and the wedding was a culmination of a perfect engagement. For Aaron, he feels that now that Lisa is his, his life is so complete. Luckily for him, the wedding ring did not put him through as much tension as the engagement ring did!

Firemen Find Wedding Rings

Friday, April 17th, 2009

In Oklahoma, a couple was despondent as they thought they had lost a wedding ring to a fire. As everyone knows, there’s something so sentimental about wedding and engagement rings, leaving the owners often in great despair.

There had been a fire and the fire-fighters bravely battled the flames after having escorted many of the residents to safety. The Craft couple, who had been married for 25 years came back when the fire had died down to find that their homes were nothing but rubble. However, the firemen were all concern when they told them that the lady had left her wedding ring along with nine other rings on their bedside table before going to sleep and before the fire happened.

It took time but the helpful firemen kept digging till they found her rings – including her wedding ring. Now the happy couple say that they are going to rebuild their home in the very same place.

Wedding Ring Takes Precedence Over Boxing Ring

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

Stuart McCrone of Darlington’s Education Village has given up his dream of continuing a winning streak in the amateur boxing championships as the next fight is on the same day as his wedding day. So he won’t be there on that boxing ring – instead he’ll be exchanging rings with his partner of twelve years – they also have a six year old son.

Along with eight family members, he, his partner and son will be off to Manchester, then to the Dominican Republic to get married and exchange wedding rings. Since he can’t be in two places at the same time, he has to let go of his dreams of advancing further in the ABA championships. He has one more chance though before he has to retire at 34 so here’s hoping that the fact that he chose love over boxing brings him luck at his last attempt.

Battling Over Expensive Diamond Rings And Millions

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

There’s always controversy when Spring gets together with December and then fights his family for his money when he dies. That’s what happened when a millionaire who had a whole lot of car dealerships in Georgia in the US passed away and now his family is accusing his mistress of having kept him in an inebriated state in order to make amendments to his will.

It all began when Harvey Strother lost his daughter to diabetes. Suddenly, this fun loving businessman began drinking. He had made a will leaving all to his wife and children but seven years ago, when a young mistress entered the scene, his problem just got worse and he seemed to be perpetually drunk. Did it suit her to keep him that way? That’s what the family feels especially as there have been amendments to his will, leaving her a lot of money, real estate and expensive diamond rings.

However, the man’s grandson has taken up this cause and challenged the will saying that his grandfather should not have been used in this shameful way when he was not in his right mind. What was even worse was that the witnesses who were named were not around to see him doing the signing when the changes were made. The case goes on.

Wedding Ring And Love-All For Federer

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

Everyone’s been expecting it. They’ve been together for so long and she’s always in the stands, cheering him on, feeling for him when he misses a point. Then came that huge diamond engagement ring and it was only a matter of time, his fans felt, before wedding bells would ring. Then came the announcement that they were expecting a baby in summer.

Mirka Vavrinec has been so much a part of Roger Federer’s public appearances and she still manages to keep in the background. They both do actually. They met nine years ago in Sydney when she played tennis too – and quite well because she was ranked in the first 100. It has been said that ever since they got together, she has managed all his affairs - financial as well as social, professional and public relations.

Today, after years, Roger Federer is No. 2 and wants that No. 1 spot again desperately though it is not going to be easy because not just Rafael Nadal but also the younger ones like Murray and Djokovic are eying that spot. Will his marriage and new baby bring him luck? We hope so. The wedding took place in on Saturday in Switzerland in his hometown and there was an announcement on his website to let the world know.

Diamond Engagement Ring And A New Life After Tragedy

Monday, April 13th, 2009

Three years ago in Bradford, West Yorkshire, a man’s dreams were shattered as his wife, a policewoman, was shot dead on their daughter’s birthday while on police duty. It looked like his life ahead held nothing but loneliness. This landscape gardener has however, found happiness again with a friend and this past Christmas, he gave her an engagement ring.

It isn’t easy for life to go on but for Paul, even though he will always miss Sharon, his late wife, Michelle who was his children’s nanny, will now be the one he will share his dreams with, the one who will help him heal. So when he sent her a Christmas gift and she opened it to find a box filled with cleaning products for the car she was a bit taken aback till she realised a smaller box held a diamond engagement ring. Of course she said Yes and though they haven’t set a date as yet, they will soon.

Second Hand Engagement Rings And Wedding Rings

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

There was a time when one could not have ever thought it likely but in times when money isn’t plentiful for a lot of people and jobs are scarce, people are looking at cutting costs even when it comes to the most important things in their lives. This includes engagements and weddings.

The whole focus today is on doing it the most cost-effective way and if that means buying a good engagement ring or wedding ring second hand and at a lower price, so be it. One just has to look at the rise in the sale of diamond engagement rings through eBay to figure it out. There has been a 200% increase in the last year. Of course, solitaires and antique rings demand a higher price but there is also a great demand for the regular diamond engagement ring.

There is little doubt that once this wave of economic gloom passes, people will go back to the way they were when it comes to engagement and wedding rings but right now, it is a question of cutting costs and they are carrying on with their lives the best way they can. This trend continues to bridal gowns and even wedding flowers and accessories.

A Summer Wedding Ring For Girls Aloud Star

Saturday, April 11th, 2009

The news is that the Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding and her DJ boyfriend are planning a summer wedding. Tom Crane and Sarah have been together for a while now but there were rumours that they had broken up last year. Well, if they had, they are back together again now and making plans to walk up that aisle.

It’s probably all true as Sarah has been spotted with a huge diamond ring on her finger and it looks like there’s going to be a huge wedding party on. Sources say though that it isn’t an engagement ring she’s wearing because Tom wanted her to design her own ring. Apparently Julien MacDonald is her wedding dress designer so one can assume that her dress is going to be a knockout!

Wedding Ring Survives Carwash

Friday, April 10th, 2009

A customer left her wedding ring as well as another ring in her car and didn’t realize she had done it when she drove her car into the carwash facility in San Angelo, Texas. She obviously wasn’t aware of it because when the car wash attendant went to clean the car, he found both the rings between the seat.

Rarely do people return things that are lost today but Nick Gonzales didn’t think twice – he just went and handed it over to the car owner who was so touched by his honesty that she immediately dashed off a note to the local paper so everyone would be aware of his honesty and integrity. Like she said, in times when money is hard to come by and so many could have been tempted to keep something like this, here was one man who would never yield to that kind of temptation. Gentle Touch Car Wash must be proud indeed to have someone like this as an employee.

37 Diamond Rings For Phillies Players

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

That’s right – there were thirty seven diamond rings that were distributed to the baseball players of the Philadelphia Phillies in honour of their October World Series win. There were 103 diamonds and there was a special reason for this number. It stood for the seasons they had played and the post-season wins.

The diamond ring was beautifully designed and at the top was a ruby inlay with the letter ‘P’ which stood for Phillies being inset with diamonds. On the rim of each ring, “World Champions’ was engraved. The rings came to be presented to the players in a Citizens Bank van with four motorcycle police outriders.

Each ring is really a masterpiece and seeing that it is commemorative of the World Championship, it is sure to be a very treasured possession indeed.
