Denim And Diamonds Fundraiser
In Texas, the Seguin Education Foundation had its fundraising event called Denim and Diamonds at its fairgrounds on the 18th of April. What was going to be raffled was a wine fridge stocked full with red and white wine and a one-carat diamond ring that was valued at around £7000. This gorgeous diamond was set in 14k white gold.
The event was organised outdoors in the fairgrounds unlike the usual fundraising events which are formal and indoors. The dress code was casual, there was a jazz band and the kids did the serving of the food dressed in their softball and baseball uniforms.
The event seems to have been a phenomenal success and they have raised around £40,000. The proceeds will go to Dallas’ Shelton School’s financial aid as well as enrichment programmes. This is a special school for children with above average intelligence who have learning differences.
